My pansies this spring did not do very well at all and most were covered with some sort of white powdery substance on the leaves. I just noticed that the same thing seems to be appearing on some of my crape myrtle leaves. My first thought was powdery mildew, but is that just a rose disease? Any help would be appreciated about what it is and what I can do about it. I am a novice at gardening but absolutely love it. Thanks.
White powdery substance on crape myrtle & pansies
My crape Myrtle gets powdery mildew often. I bet that is it. Have never seen on pansies though.
What do you use to control or hopefully get rid of it?
A fungicide labeled for powdery mildew will control it.
Neem oil is great for powdery mildew too.
Thanks to both of you. I'll give it a try. Happy gardening.
baking soda and water works extremely well also.
