Alright, have I entered the 90s yet? Plenty to do but this is a big start! hahahahaha
Hey bigcityAl!! This pics for you. LOL
Hey you're getting back to an empty slate which is nice. Where are the swamp creatures? I remember the '90's like I was almost there.
Keep working on it Michellee

ROTFLOL Hmmm... I am trying to remember where I was about a week ago. They have those every six feet or so all the way around, on all four sides, of a garage or something. I could not help but think about you. If I get a chance to go back and can find it again, I'l get you a picture. LOL
I've already planted a Mr. Lincoln rose over there, some Dianthus, several of your favorite (daylilies of course!!) and a few other things. I barely have time to work on my own beds right now as I am growing for everyone else. LOL I have a stock pile, growing daily, of plants for me whenever I can get to them. I also have a lovely rose and another rose/mulberry chunk of gunk to dig from the middle of the yard. Why do people do that?? Why do people stick one plant right in the middle of nothing? Somewhere down the line, I'd like to put a weeping mulberry or something similar in that naked corner.....
I did actually end up getting a few daylillies as trades for my wife to have, but they are a lot easier to take back out than mulberry - which I've done.
In the end I think some of the blame has to fall with people that buy plants as gifts for people without thinking where they will go or what will be done with them. They usually just get stuck somewhere out of place. I bought my parents a Sensation lilac a few years ago - and I come back to see they stuck it under an oak tree and it is completely white, I moved it without any discussion.
I would think this fall would be a good time to work on your plans?
I am speechless! YOU planted daylilies?? In your own yard?? On purpose?? Have you been to see a doctor about this? LOL
As for my oddly placed roses, had they put them on the back side or end of the house, it would have been perfect! There was nothing there. Someone did plant a rose of sharon, tall sedum and daylily (which I am all clenched up about because I am 99% betting it's a ditch lily) in the nook where the back porch meets the house. I do like the rose of sharon as it's a mauve pink color and double which I have never seen. Of course it is planted to close to the house...Looking around here at the bit that was planted, it is obvious there was not a lot of consideration given to how big things get when they mature.
Honestly I can't decide which would have been better or worse. There were only a few plants here and the ground had to be built up at the foundation. I didn't have a ton of plants to rearrange, dig up, move, leave, prune, whatever but I also didn't already have nice soil to work with either. Which would be worse?
