And this little Pip Squeak was hiding out also. His body is about an inch.

So excited to find an itty bitty today, but couldn't get a good close-up.

Aren't these little guys adorable? This one was smaller than a penny
sitting on a Lotus.

Melvin, our condolences.

Well, I'm glad Penny showed up.

Here is an itty bitty toad next to a plug on the patio.

Good morning, everyone!

Love those pics, keep 'em coming!

Hey, BeaHive is that mini horsetail you have growing there? Is the water lily 'Attraction'?
How many frogs do you have now.

Wuvie you still got tadpoles?

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Oh, Deb, do we ever!

We have so many tadpoles, if they all make it to froghood we
are going to become the subject of a sci-fi movie. LOL.

I've been meaning to take a pic. In fact, today would be a great day
to get one, this cloudy-rainy lighting.

Wuvie..save a popover for me! Not crazy about honey as much as I love bees! Been that way since I was young! Crazy.. I'll take mine w/butter! YUM!

dalindeb. yes that is a mini horsetail. They are great for the pond. The roots tend to grow out of the pot, but I just rip them off once a year and that's it. Survived down to 11 deg this winter staying in the pond right where it's at. I am not sure what the water lily is as the tags were long faded the first year. It is a pretty one I must say. Here is a closer shot of it.

It looks a lot like this one which I think is 'Attraction'. Let me know if you wanna trade some plants later.

No escape! :) They must be used to you by now..

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

I still have some skittish ones who dive under when they see me. A few are used to me or shall I say sick of me!!!

Bud, one of our bullfrogs, allowed me to get close enough this morning to snap off a couple of pictures of him, so I thought I'd share them. I never would have thought I'd enjoy the frogs so much, but I'm glad they chose us (our pond) for their home. :)

This is the best thread, thank all of you for sharing!

Every day I am excited to see more frogs and toads. Whoo hooo!

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

Galanthophile. That's a great looking frog! I am excited. My daughter and her BF are going "froggin" tomorrow. His uncle has a large property with a natural lake that is loaded with frogs and tadpoles.
When the BF asked me how many I would like I replied as many as you can catch..plus a container of tadpoles would be nice too! Keep ya posted on how they do, with pics of course!

Making a get away from the crazy lady with the camera!

Well the final count today was only 5 polywogs but they are very good size.

I would love a toad. What's the best way to acquire one (legally)?

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

The best way to add to your collection is to catch one and move it to your pond. Not an easy feat!
My daughters BF went back out "froggin" yesterday and brought me a real cute one. Lots of mosquito larva in the water..that got dumped.

He swam off and found a nice resting place. The daughter BF called last night to say he went night "froggin" and caught some more. They will arrive today. Can't wait to see what he brings.
Do you think he is trying to score points with his girl friend or girl friends mother? LOL! He is just a nice young man and knows I love my frogs!

This new little frog has made himself right at home. I found him this morning resting on a lily pad enjoying the sunshine.

The frog on the right in this picture was creeping his way closer to the new frog on the left to say hello.
