Low-Cost Slant Fence Excludes Deer from Plantings

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

I found this concept VERY interesting and it's affordable.

Quoting:
For under a dollar per running foot of fenced land perimeter for purchased supplies (not counting our labor)

Do deer jump over fences? If so I'd be worried they'd think it's not that tall and then wind up tangled in it on your side. ? I dunno.

No, the wires (electrified) spaced on the slant creat an optical illusion and they stay away. If they should happen to touch the top wire, they'd get a small shock.

didn't know it was electrified. Looks like it'd work and be way less oppressive than the 8 foot tall ones.

Did you read the article? The slant part is only attached to the fence posts at the top and extends 2 feet on the slant past the fence posts on one side. The lower end merely rests on the ground on the other side.

nope, didn't read it! lol Sorry!
