heres a pic of my phlox last week....
thought it was mildew..
mildew?
The first picture looks like powdery mildew. The second picture looks like chemical damage. What did you spray with? How often, and at what strength? Perhaps in the heat of the day?
CJ
Leeann, the mildew makes the leaves ugly, even after you spray it with a fungicide. Those will probably yellow and fall off. The best thing I've found for powdery mildew is neem oil, just don't spray it in the heat of the day.
ceejaytown, It was, fertilome Lq systemic fungicide, mixed it as direction said, sprayed it about 10 apart, give or take... and no it wasnt in the heat of the day.. I figured it was chemical damage,,,, :0(
thank you for your help!!!
Calalily, neem oil? I'll have to get some of that... guess it take forever to get rid of this crap? ive had phlox for yrs and this is the first time ive had mildew on them,(i live in a dry dry BONE dry climate), so really dont know how to deal with this,, LOL live and learn....
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP!! ;0)
LeeAnn
Neem oil is the only thing I've found that gets rid of the residue from powdery mildew infections. In TN, I used it as a preventative spray on phlox, monarda and dogwoods.
