I didn't know where to post this on DG to ask, so this is the winning spot. Please move it to a more appropriate location if I guessed wrong.
I was looking up azalea nureries via google and came across this site:
http://www.aaronscanna-amaryllis.com
I can't tell if it's a humorous site (by the photos -- look at the "trendy/arty" things they did to the plant photos ... guys modeling with the plants, one of the azaleas has a women's legs in striped hose! ... all VERY FUNNY. I can't tell if it's a real bonafide business/nursery. They have a PO Box for an address and an 800#. I looked up the business name in the USDex directory for their town/state and got no result.
Is this a real bonafide business/nursery?
Looks like a real nursery to me...although a little weird maybe! Hard to tell whether they're trustworthy or not though because they're not listed in Garden Watchdog. I generally don't risk buying anything from a nursery that doesn't have a good rating there. Unless they have one special plant that I can't find anywhere else, then maybe I'll try ordering just that one and cross my fingers. If they specialize in azaleas, you could try asking on the Rhodies and Relatives forum whether anyone over there has experience with them.
DO NOT order anything from these people. They look like just another front for that horrible TyTy nursery. I compared their websites and they are way too similar to be different companies.
Oh yea, they look very similar to TyTy. And both are in Georgia (though one says Sumner and the other TyTy).
Their text is written in a manner like they're hocking plants on late-night television. And the pictures...well, when they are retouching and don't proportionately resize it's just eyebrow-raising! (Some of the azaleas on Aaron's Nursery had flowers nearly as big as the guys head!) LOL. It looks like a joke, not real place. Doesn't look like they offer anything that can't be obtained at local nurseries, however, and their manner in presentation doesn't make them look the slightest bit trustworthy.
It IS the same as TyTy. I can remember when they were listed in GW and were removed at the same time as TyTy.
Rotten buggers, still trying to rip us off!
