Daconil proportions

Birmingham, AL

I bought some Daconil for my tomato plants, and it said 1 tablespoon for every gallon (128 ounces). My spray bottle is 24 ounces, so I used 1/2 a teaspoon. Does that sound about right?
It seems so dilute!

LAMC,
My math says 3/4 of a teaspoon for 1 quart, but then I would NOT TRUST MY MATH if I were you. Which means I am WORSE at fractions than just regular math. Personally, I would have put 3/4 teaspoon in 24ounces, but then, I HATE BUGS, but I hate those STUPID LABELS MORE, lol.

Ok, here goes. There are 3785 milliters to the gallon, which makes 709 milleters in one quart. There are 15 milleters to one tablespoon, which comes out to about 2.8 milleliters to 24ozs. You can do the conversion from THERE, my HEAD HURTS already!!! :(

OR, you can mix up one gallon of the spray, (one tablespoon in one gallon), in an old milk jug, then fill your 24oz container from that. I gotta go lie down!! All this brain work is makin me TIRED!! lol

lol...i didn't have the time to convert down to the gallon ratio when I wrote that. I have 3 greenhouses so yeah...I mix a bigger amount. It comes to a tad less than 1 teaspoon per gallon. A stronger amt isn't going to hurt it-if the spray is working you will see a tannish film on the foliage when it dries. Be sure to keep the foliage dry for a few days after you spray so the Daconil can work. What are you spraying for? You can use a surfactant with Daconil to help it stick to the foliage as well.

Bluelytes, I know, the math is absolutely killing me!

Tigerlily, I"m spraying my tomatoes because some fo their leaves are turning yellow and getting black spots. So I guess I'll just keep spraying at 1/2 - 3/4 teaspoons daconil in a 24 oz bottle :)

lamcarolyn, I don't know much about growing tomatoes but if it really is a foliar fungus, you should, everyday remove the spotted leaves and throw away in the garbage-p/up any bad leaves off the ground as well-fungus spreads by spores in the air from wind or watering ect. Thats the best thing to do
