Got home, ate dinner, and here I sit exhausted waiting for my turn in the shower. Had a blast. They took me to Lake Havasu and the over Hoover Dam on the way home. Managed to get a thimble from both places. I usually forget until the drive home and kick myself. Lake Havasu is like Ft. Lauderdale during spring break and then for the summer. Young kids aplenty and barely any clothes. My 17yr old DS really enjoyed it. We strolled along the banks of the lake and went into a few of the shops. Had club sandwiches and rasberry iced tea for lunch that was delicious. Hoover Dam has change so much since I was a child and then even more since 9/11. Security crossing the Dam is about the same as the airport. Took us close to 2 hours to get across. Just as we were leaving the Dam on the Nevada side we passed a thermometer reading 103 degrees and it was 5:20pm. I think it must have hit at least 105 down there.
Okay I guess I really need to research some pictures of poison Ivy and jewelweed (touch me nots). I have never seen either and have never seen the rash it causes so I better get on the ball so I can have a clue when I get there.
Maria your breakfast sounded wonderful. I love meals that I can sit down and enjoy without all the stress of cooking or clean up.
I love both Cracker Barrel and William Sonoma. DH loves them also, which is great when I want to get gizmo's.
Meezer, I think your cake looks delicious and since taste is all that counts its perfect.....
Defoe, Jade is absolutely regal looking. I love horses. Never been on one but love them. Your DGD looks so comfortable sitting up there. She must love them also. When all of the men in my life and my mom were in the hospital it was weird. I woke up, did what I had to do, ate and then slept again. The nurses at the stations were my saving grace. They all knew that I was running between floors and hospitals, all of them would keep me up to date on everything and a few even went so far as to order me dinner to ensure I ate each night. I bought them all gift certificates when everyone was home.
Molly your outing sounds wonderful. Glad you found some plants and I love the picture.
My mom taught me how to sew and darn. I have only used my sock darning skills on my fathers socks. They were old, wool and the only kind he would wear. When my parents moved in with us I took all his socks and sat with mom as she did one and I did a few. We all knew that he would outlive her and I needed to brush up on my skills. Since then I have mended a favorite sweater using the same skills. Thanks MOM
Well I am sure I miss a few people, so ~~~~ to you all. I hope all had as wonderful Mothers Day as I did.
