Now that I've planted?

Wall Township, NJ(Zone 7a)

Now that I've planted perrenials in my yard, I was just wondering what has to be done to them come the cooler fall weather? I know it's not even summer yet but I like to think ahead of myself.......lol. I've never planted perrenials before and being really new to this gardening thing, I was wondering if I have to cut them back when they stop blooming? Do I just leave them the way they are? Should I cover the flower bed with mulch for the winter? Oh my : O!!.........so many questions and so little knowledge!! If it helps any, here is a list of what I planted this year:

Dusty Miller
Phlox
Astilbe
Salvia
Woolly Speedwell
Tickseed
Purple Coneflower
Tanacetum coccoineum "Dark Crimson"
Hostas (already there when moved here)

I also have a couple of other ones which.......being a newbie.......forgot to put a taggy thingie in them before I bought them home. Needless to say........I have no idea of what they are........lol. If I bought them, I must have liked the way the picture looked. It's just ashame I didn't take the ones that HAD the pictures and names on them. Oh well.....you live and learn!! Next year I'll be prepared!!

Anyway, I was just wondering if there was any kind of particular care you must give to these flowers/plants in order for them to come back the following year?

Thanx,

Patty

Mostly if they have a good healthy summer, they'll just die back, sleep all winter, you'll give them a haircut of all the dead stuff and they will just come back.... all on their own. Those look like all good choices for survival.
