Oh, wait...Ginger Empress has a variegated foliage, and the flower is lavendar and white. Also, Persian Sheild is green and deep purple.

And Canna Pupurea (something like that) has foliage similar to Red Stripe, and a dark orange flower like the Robert Kemp.
The Canna Pupurea sounds perfect with the interesting foliage and dark orange flower! If you have that one to think out...that would be great. Don't bring me a lot...just one will do...! I don't really have a place yet...all my beds are not done or awaiting the driveway or the reflection pool to be finished in the fall before I can make more beds...

Michelle, don't you think Connie needs one of those orange plants like your backyard neighbor has? Connie, you have to see the flower on this plant. I have no idea what it is, but it is beautiful. Maybe M can take a pic of it and show you.
I think it is a Bird of Barbados, but DH thinks it is a Bird of Paradise. I need one too. I'm going to ask my neighbor for some seed pods! I'll check plantfiles and see what it says....here is a pic I took of it over my fence.
I almost bought one from a nursery in Oak Hill, but at the time I had NO ROOM in my car, so passed it up. I think it was called Pride of Barbados...could that be the same thing? And yes, I would love one...those are my colors!! I usually buy large plants, as I have no patience with baby ones! :) and my DH always says, "I'l be DEAD before that little thing is big unuf to be enjoyed"!!! haha

Oh yeah, Connie, I forgot you had that huge list of stuff you just bought at the Red Barn? place...that was you, right? You must have a lot of space for all those plants!!! I'm running out of room. I will bring you a pupurea, of course, but is that really all you want?
