Jill,
I'm glad you like your surpise! A huge Thank you for all the work you have done to make this trade special! No drinks allowed on the doily reseved for a AV.LOL.
I hope Georges box was ok. I
Secret Easter Bunny Trade Reports (continuation thread)
I appreciate how well everyone has kept in touch about this trade -- sure makes it easy to organize!
Jan, I actually don't want to put anything on top of that doily... it is too beautiful to cover up any part of it! That's why I was thinking of putting a clear glass plate over it on the fern stand and using it as a sort of little side table.... most of the time, there wouldn't be anything on it, but if somebody needed a place to set a cup of tea, the doily would be safe!
I need to try to clear up a confusion... There are TWO secret trades happening this spring. I've had a few Dmails from people in the second spring secret trade that Lorry is organizing, and there is clearly some confusion between the Secret Easter Bunny Trade (this one) and the second one, partly because both of them have been referred to here & there as bunny trades... I'm sure it added to the confusion when we delayed the SEB Trade send date by a month so that both trades are now happening in May.
I have Dmailed everyone participating in the Secret Easter Bunny Trade, so if you don't have Dmail from me about this trade, then you are in the other Spring Secret Trade.... Since the second one is being sent (I think) in mid-May, maybe we could refer to it as the Mother's Day Trade or something... Hopefully this won't be a continuing confusion! :-)
Fun stuff, folks. Pictures?
I second the suggestion.... all these digicams that we're getting so good at using, and not a single picture on this thread yet! :-)
Kenton I was thinking the say thing :)) Where are all the pictures. Oh yea lol hehe I forgot I have to take pictures of mine . lol I'll be working on this !
..still no box here for me. =0( I just hope it's not sitting in the post office all weekend. Any update??
Sorry, Betsy, still no update.... looks like your Bunny Box was scanned when it was mailed on the first (status: acceptance), but it hasn't been scanned since. Hopefully it'll arrive on Monday. I know your Secret Easter Bunny did an excellent job of packing, so I hope the plants survive the extra transit time.
The tracking number on Begonia's box says it's been delivered, so I'm thinking she's been too crazii with the arboretum plant sale to post about it yet.
My fingers are crossed for Betsy's box!
Yes Georges and others have not posted about what they got in their boxes either ??
Betty hope your box comes OK today ! I shipped a box to Eunice in Florida 2-3 hour drive tops and it took 6 days Priroity Mail.
WHOO HOO! I'm doin' the Happy AV Dance - my box arrived!! =0)
Kenton (JamesCO) was my trade person (I was going to say he was my "trader" but that didn't sound right - LOL)!
In spite of the rather looong journey (priority mail from Colorado to Illinois and it took 7 days - that's the USPS for ya!) everything arrived in safe (albeit THIRSTY) condition. Everyone is soaking up a drink as I type this.
Kenton outdid himself! In my SEB box was:
* Optimara EverHarmony (oh oh, I have SO wanted this!!)
* Fantasy Radiance
* Ness' Midnight Fantasy
* Sonoma Heather
* Mindi's Tears
* Raspberry Rose
* Allegro Appalachian Trail (a rooted plant - I have tried like 4 times to start this one from leaves without success! Now I don't have to try again). =0)
* Blue Dragon
*Angel Tears Trail
*Mosaique
*** I LOVE I LOVE I LOOOVE EVERY SINGLE ONE **********
AAAANNND, as if that wasn't enough, he included a couple extra non-AV goodies....Hylocereus undatus, Epiphyllum "Ocean Sunset", and Stapelia cuttings of "Stapelia getfleffi". I don't know if he just took a lucky guess on these goodies or has been out there nosing around to see what else I like, but I am into ANY kinds of cactus &/or succulents as well as Stapelia. So Kenton, m'man - - YOU DID GOOOOOOD! =)
Thank you THANK YOU thank yooooou!
Hugs All.
BETSY (one happy SEB trade person) =0)
Hooray!!!
WOW BETSY super duper box :)) Kenton sure can grow them and pack a box ! You deserve it ! Yippee !
WooHoo Betsy.Great box! Way to go Kenton.
Jackpot!!!! Good for you and great job Kenton
I'll just use a different currier in future... I was having such luck with the post. I was suprised at how I had just the surplus plants that Betsy liked- I think those plants will be very happy in a place where I am not there asking them "What the heck am I going to do with you, you odd thing? I need more room..."
Enjoy Betsy!
Kenton
I got a couple more Dmails from Secret Easter Bunnies... Nery, your box is on its way! Kenton, your box is going out in tomorrow's mail!
:-)
Deb, I just got the word that your Bunny Box is in the mail!
Fancy!
Lali (Begoniacrazii) Dmailed me to say she did receive George's box, but she was really ill all weekend so hasn't been up to posting. I know George was tickled about packing up something cute with her box, but he wouldn't say what he was planning, so I'm looking forward to a report!
Get well soon, Lali -- we miss you!
Lali Begonia get well soon :)) I want to see what you got !
And where is George ?? I want to hear about his wonderful box too please !
Allison
Lali, reporting for duty...still feeling pretty blah, but wanted to briefly post that I got George's box o' goodies. THANKS!!
A beauty of a trailer, in full bloom (George, do you have the ID on this? I didn't see a tag?). Another baby trailer noid, several sets of leaves one was a noid and has the best variegation! and Firey Sunset, Ozio, and Boreale. Any of you FC'er out there want to help with Boreale and Firey Sunset? I had Ozio but lost it (one of the D&B $1 bargains) so I have the FC info on that one, should have nice fantasy.
gotta go lay back down, I am trying to feel better so I can try and go to the greenhouses, (Laughing at self!)
Critter, didn't get to packing boxes as I spent what time I was up, watering dry dry dry babies and garden. I'll shoot for Friday, so you can have it on Monday. Sorry 'bout that.
Thanks George!!
I'll be back in a few days gang...
Boreale is very pretty ! I can't fine it SP ?? But I know I've seen it on Ebay lately.

Beautiful plant !
WOW Super duper another beauty !
Ozio (8920) 11/30/2000 (B. Foster) Double pink star/purple fantasy, fuchsia frilled edge. Dark green, quilted, serrated. Standard
I'll see if I can find Boreale
Get well soon !
They could be in the update I haven't downloaded yet, but my FC doesn't have either of those, sorry.
Don't sweat it about getting the boxes out -- just take care of yourself and get better!
Although there are a few boxes outstanding for one reason or another, there aren't any that I'm worried about the Bunny not being able to come through, and I think I've Dmailed folks (&/or posted here) whenever I've been told about delays. Thanks everyone for being patient and for being so good about communication on this trade!
However, LOL.... We really need to hear from MK & from George! :-)
LOL... Thanks, Allison... I didn't notice Lali's typo.... "Firey Sunset" is not there.... but "Fiery Sunset" sure is, LOL!
Here it is ! I've seen pictures very pretty !
Boreale (Croteau) Semi-double purple pansy/coral puff fantasy spots.
Dark green, quilted. Large
Canadian Hybrid
My Bunny Box arrived today!!!!!
THANK YOU so much, Deb! You were a good sport about being my not-so-secret Easter Bunny, and WOW you just outdid youself with this box!! I am absolutely bowled over!
The first thing I found when I started unpacking was a Huge, Blooming Episcia!! Is it 'Grey Lady'? My only other Episcia is 'Unpredictable Valley', which is hanging in there with me but growing very slowly even in its brightly lit terrarium jar. Hopefully I'll do better with this one!
The last plant I unwrapped was a big BUDDING plantlet of 'B-man's Etna'... I've seen such pretty pictures of this one, and I can't wait for it to bloom!
In between, I oohed & ahhhed as I unwrapped 9 more beautiful little plantlets -- nicely grown, very healthy, and such wonderful varieties! It's a good thing I am in the process of packing up plantlets & making more room, as they are all standards, including 3 of my favorite BUCKEYE series that get really big! :-D
Here's the list! I'm such a lucky duck!!
Alamo Gusto
B-Man's Etna
Buckeye Almost Royal
Buckeye Beauty
Buckeye Camoflage
King's Trail
Rebel's Centennial Star
Rebel's Flaming Star
Rebel's Restless Heart
Yesterday's Child (trailer with double blue blooms!)
Without having seen the blooms yet, I think my very, very favorite of them will be Buckeye Beauty, although I think the foliage & blooms of Rebel's Restless Heart will be really stunning also.... actually, I love them ALL!!
The foliage on King's Trail looks very much like that of Yesterday's Valentine... I couldn't find King's Trail in FC, but the leaves are really striking!
Deb, THANK YOU so much for your wonderful, generous box!!
Photos of this & other stuff will have to wait until we locate the download cable for the camera.... LOL
WOW Super Duper Jill! Great box ! Deb sure can pack and grow them !
I use to have King's Trail in my FC grew several but my computor crashed and had to get a new FC CD and I had added it. I'm sure we can find it ! My Memory says it was a pretty blue. But for how my Memory goes lately lol ..
You sure hit the JackPot !
This has been so much fun seeing what everyone gets !
Thanks for this fun Secret Swap and gameJ ill !
Download cable; where are you when we need you.
Two fun days in a row. Yipee!
Download Cable now I'm lost ?? lol To be honest when I first got my FC CD twice not knowing it was corumpt it wiped everything out of my computer even the stuff that comes free in it I mean everything. Then fixing it I put the FC CD in again not know what caused this well I fount out.
Then when FC had an up-date to the program and I up-dated mine my FC disapeared and would not work or find it it was weird. So each time Joe Burns put a new CD in the mail for me !
Now the past two up-dates I have got some names in different launguage and when I mouse on them FC shuts down. I need to email them again.
And my poor old computer and windows 98 I treasure and love it must keep working !
it's the download cable for the camera that we need to find, Allison... no big deal, I'm sure it came back with us from Boston LOL.
Jill, no picture....but here is the info. 1330 KINGS TRAIL - (Dr. Charles Sledge) - Light blue double blossoms with variable pink and/or white feathered tips. Green serrated, quilted foliage. Grows very large.
Also...the Episcia is "Chocolate Soldier"
Glad you liked your package.
Deb
WooHoo.What a great box! Nice growing Deb!
Thanks, Deb! Sounds like it'll be a wonderful compliment to 'Yesterday's Valentine'.... Thanks for IDing the Episcia also!
And thanks again for a fabulous Bunny Box!!
Fancy.
Fancy
sannajane, my secret buddy. thanks for sending such a wonderful box. I arrived in today's mail in perfect condition. My mail carrier was very amused by the cute notes you posted on the box. Tomorrow I will post in detail. All I had time to do today was give them some air and water following their long trip from CA.
thank you so very much. I appreciate your generosity and all your trouble. I have already bought the perlite. I am going to try that method for propagating my leaves.
Glad the box arrived safely and quickly! Actually, I can't take credit for the notes on the box. I reused the box I got my goodies in! So Linda (RDT) gets the credit. I knew it would be as much fun for you and your post-people as it was for mine! Enjoy!
Sanna
Sanna, I can't take credit either ;O)) It came from Bluebird when I bought your Bob Serbian and others. But I thought it was rather whimsical!! Linda
Here I am taking a study-break in the library when my box could be on my doorstep on the other side of the valley. Torture!
OH Kenton I hope it's there for you when you get home ! I hope a lot of peeps get boxes today !
Me too.... Priority Mail drives me nuts sometimes... When UPS says "2 days" they mean it!
Kenton, the only info I have on your box is that it left Denver on May 10. It could well be on your doorstep!
Deb, the last update on your box is "status: arrival at unit" this morning.... I'm not sure if that means it was delivered then or if it had arrived at the local post office.
