Secret Easter Bunny Trade Reports (continuation thread)

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

This thread is a continuation of http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/555678/#new
Please refer to the first SEB Trade thread for details of the trade.

This thread is the place to share your excitement about your Bunny Box!

I thought the old thread was long enough that we needed a new one... now... because THE FIRST BOX HAS BEEN MAILED!!!

Woohooooo!

As an explanation... there were a couple of people who couldn't send or receive a box in May, so those trade boxes are going out this month. I've made those arrangements via Dmail, so if I haven't told you otherwise, your send/receive time is still the first week in May.

Please remember to Dmail me with the tracking number when you mail your box. I am not going to be posting or giving out the tracking numbers (no fair peeking to see where your box is coming from!), but if there are any glitches I'll be able to look it up.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I've been sorting & repotting violets today, and I'm gathering all the plantlets for my Easter Buddy onto their own little tray and earmarking some others for leaf donations. Fun!!

Oh, and George -- it's very good to have you back online with us! Hooray!

:-)

Crossville, TN(Zone 6b)

Hey, I am first to be blessed.
Just to let you know my AV's arrived in the mail from Patti (Rose 318). They were all plantlets.
These are all new to me. I think 2 of them are Russian. I never expected to be honored.
I received
1. Barhatuya Fantasy Is this Barkhatnaya Fantaziya? http://www.bluebirdgreenhouse.com/html/fimages/0209-1643-6185.jpg

2. Aly's Rosy Baby (Droege) Semidouble rose. Dark pointed. Miniature trailer (User Database) Middle plant: http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=2122054

3. Playful Spectrum http://www.robsviolet.com/playful_spectrum.htm http://www.avsa.org/Photographs/PlayfulSpectrumLrg.jpg#http://../Photographs/PlayfulSpectrumLrg.jpg#

4. (Y) Van Selonai Is this Russian Yan-Selena Moon Goddess? Yan-Selena (Natalia Puminova)
"Moon Goddess" White semidouble-double ruffled star. Light green ovate foliage. standard http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=2109438

5. Rob's Twinkle Pink Semi-double to double bright hot pink. Black foliage creates a stunning contrast. Heavy bloomer, mini variety. Black foliage, hot-hot pink has peaked my interest!! http://www.avsa.org/Photographs/Rob'sTwinklePinkLrg.jpg#http://../Photographs/Rob'sTwinklePinkLrg.jpg#
Nearly as small as 'Twinkle Blue', this is perhaps an even better showplant. Sdbl. to double bright deep-deep, hot-hot pink blooms over black foliage provides a stunning contrast. Fantastic tiny microminiature, grows to less than 3" when mature. http://www.robsviolet.com/rob's_twinkle_pink.htm

6. Decelles' Defi Semidouble blue-purple blossoms with pink fantasy dots, medium green and cream variegated foliage (Canadian hybrid) Isn't she beautiful? http://www.avsa.org/Photographs/Decelles'DefiLrg.jpg#http://../Photographs/Decelles'DefiLrg.jpg#
Decelles' Defi (8658) 08/18/1997 (Brownlie/Decelles) Semidouble blue-purple pansy/pink fantasy. Variegated medium green and cream, plain. Standard Allison's photo: http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=2109382

I don't have any fantasies. Thanks for your thoughtfulness Patti. Linda

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Super WOW Linda your the first in our Secret Bunny Sawp ! Yippee :)) Pictures please !

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Hooray!!!

Patti, thanks for getting the Bunny Trade off to such a great start.... those are some beauties! And what a fun bonus to get them all as plantlets! :-)

I had a recent D-exchange about this, so thought I'd mention in case anyone was unsure... The rules for this swap say the minimum is 7 varieties, at least 2 of which should be plantlets.... the other 5 can be either pairs of leaves *or* plantlets.

Patti, be on the lookout for your Bunny Box. It went into the mail on Tuesday!

I got a Dmail tonight that reminded me to mention... If you will be out of town next week, PLMK so I can tell your SEB to mail your box to arrive when you are home. For that matter, if you would be unavailable to receive your box the second week in May, PLMK that also, just in case.

Unless you tell me otherwise, I will assume that you can send & receive your box the first week in May (or possibly the second, because I know things happen).

I'm going to be mostly offline until Tuesday, but I'll make sure to check Dmail on Sunday in case there are last minute logistics to juggle.

Thanks!

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Exciting ! Thanks Jill :))

Oh Allison - I'm glad you got your box of goodies! Hope it all arrived safely. This was such a dilemna for me as I think you must have (or at one time HAD) every single violet there is! But waaaay back when I once posted a picture of my violets, you posted back that you loved Rob's Mango Mongo ...so that gave me a good start. I so hope you like everything.
Oh and P.S. - I'm sorry I forgot to put cut leaves in your box. =0(
Betsy

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Allison

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Laurie, your box was scheduled to go out this morning!

Allison, I'm so glad to hear your box arrived! I keep checking to see if more Bunny Boxes have made it to their destinations.... This is fun!

There are 4 or 5 boxes that are planned to go out next week (for various reasons on either end), but I'll try to keep posting here when a box has been sent on its way, so folks will know when to keep a sharp watch on their mailboxes. :-)

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

I got my box today! Vossner Thank you so much.I got 2 very nice plants(1 blooming) and 5 sets of leaves. All packed perfect and arrived in great shape.Thank you Nery for the great box!

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Oh Jan those japanese morning glories nice surprise bonus gift ! I have a few of them planted and blooming and I love them so much :))

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

No one else get their boxes yet ?

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Please remember to Dmail me with a tracking number when you send out your box, and please post here when your package arrives!

USPS tracking isn't the best, as sometimes packages don't get scanned at all until they are delivered (unlike UPS, which scans when the package is sent and at every stop along the way)... but it does give us some idea of where things might be at, and it also provides a way for the USPS to help locate a package if necessary. I checked the tracking numbers that I had this morning, and thought I'd post updates.

MK & George... Please post if your Bunny Boxes have arrived. UPSP tracking says they have been delivered. :-)

Begonia, your box arrived in CA (Calistoga) this morning, so maybe you will see it today, depending on where Calistoga is.

Betsy & Sanna, your Bunny Boxes are still en route, with no additional information at this point (which doesn't mean they won't come today).

Eureka, CA

Woo-hoo!! I got my box yesterday, but I couldn't let anyone know because our power went off AS I WAS OPENING MY BOX!!! It was such a bummer, because I couldn't see very well with the candles and flashlights, but also, I wanted to let everyone know and couldn't!

My trader was RDT, Linda Turner from Tennessee! And she must have read one of my entries on a thread (or been hinted to) because included in the package was a Bob Serbin! The first time I saw a Bob Serbin on one of the threads I fell in love with it. And it has a couple of blooms on it!

Included too were:

Rob's Boondoggle
Optimara "Creek Girl"
Chagall
Little Chippery Trail
A very pretty NOID with variegated leaves
And some leaves of Ultra Violet Saturn

I got a few fun extras too, like CANDY, some Shasta Daisy seeds, and a cute notepad.

Thank you Linda for the wonderful box of goodies. Everything arrived in great shape and have been lovingly taken care of. One of the Bob Serbin leaves was broken, but hey, I probably would have put down a couple of leaves soon anyway. So I already have one down!

Thanks again, and thanks to all for the fun participation.

Sanna

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Sarah, Nery, MsC, Deb, Kenton & me.... boxes will go out to us next week.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Sanna, what a wonderful box of goodies! Thanks for posting... looks like you were posting while I was typing, LOL. Glad your power is back on.

And I have to post a big THANK YOU to Jan! I got the nicest surprise in yesterday's mail... one of her GORGEOUS doilies, sent as a thank-you for organizing the SEB trade... WOW! It's stunning, with a lovely flower design in the center. I will post a picture as soon as DH finishes fiddling with the computers (we got a new laptop today, so I'm lucky I can even find a way online right now). I have a fern stand in the living room that currently has no plant on it (yes, I know, how shameful... I've been using it as a place to put a drink when I'm at the piano), and the doily is *exactly* the right size for the top of it, draping its last lacy row just slightly over the edge... It shows off beautifully against the dark cherry wood (and I promise not to spill my drink on it... in fact, I think I will put a clear glass plate on top for a coaster).

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Sanna so sorry about your electricity :(( I hate when this happens . I'm so happy it's back on for you !
What a nice box :)) I'm so happy you and everyone are having as much fun as I am. I just love secret swaps ! Their my most favorite boxes :)) I can't wait for fall to have another !
Thanks Jill for organizing again. It has been a lot of work and you have been doing an excellent job keeping up with everything !
Allison
