The last week or so I have noticed that the site is running a lot slower. When I go to post to a forum or to send a Dmail, I frequently get a 'website not responding' message. Today I went to send a Dmail and I had to send it four times before it finally 'took'. I think it is just because it is Spring and so many people are posting...plus I have ntoiced when I go to do a search on Google for a plant, DG is among the first searches listed, so there are a LOT of non-DG members who are hitting the site looking for info. While this is a good thing, it is also frsutrating when it slows things down to the point that I have to send a Dmail four times.
As a newbie, I hate to complain. I love the site, love the forums, and all the info and the people. And as a web designer, the way the site runs impresses the heck out of me. How does he get those pics to post with the automtaic copyright info? That is just awesome!
Anyway, hopefully once Spring is past and most folks get bored with puttering around in the yard, the fair weather gardeners won't be accessing the site so much and things will speed up again. In the mean time, I'll try to remind myself of what things were like in the days when modems ran at 1400 baud...or even the days when you had to go to the library or your local ag center to find out anything.....and just appreciate what we have, instead of growing impatient because I can't have what I want RIGHT NOW! LOL!

DG Overload?
Marcie,
Don't worry. Dave said under DavesGarden forum he is having another server installed to help with this problem. I have DSL and still find the site can be slow at times but the wait is more than worth it because it is the best site around! So wholesome and helpful.
To find out how to post the "copyright" info on YOUR pictures just click above on your
"my info" button. It will bring up your page. Then on the left click on "manage your preferences". Scroll down and on the left your will see where it says, "copyrights." You can then personally choose if you want the copyright image to show on your pictures. It would be good for you since you do so much artwork you post but for me if I could post pictures would want them for all to use.

I think it already does put a copyright on my pics...AT least I think it does. LOL! Now that you mention it, I can't remember. I'll have to check. I just think it is a really neat feature.
I meant to post this thread to that forum. I apologise for putting it in the wrong forum. I'm still learning my way around the site.
No prob Marcie!!! I'm still a newbie too. =)
Edited to note: Marcie in looking at your artwork I didn't see the copyright mark, at least on the Iris.

It doesn't show up on the Iris because of the white background...but it does show up on my other pics.
