'Toto,' she thinks. This thing is tiny and fragrant.

Penultimately, here is the biggest Narc I have ever seen. You should know that my hands are not small. 5" I think it was. If I let its name out, will there be a flock to hunt it down?...

Finally, 'Stresa.'

Thanks for looking, folks. You must realize that we all look at eachother's pictures to see what we each might not otherwise try out. Magazines and catologues are one thing, warm and honest fellowship is another.

Keep them coming, I know you folks have things blooming!

Wonderful pics, K., I especially like your close-ups of the whole daffodil, showing its 'garden presence'....very useful for me.

I bet, too, those little white ones are 'toto',

http://www.broadleighbulbs.co.uk/images/narcissus/nartotocu.jpg

and I wonder if they would bloom early enough to pair with crocus?

I love those little toto's! Thanks Kenton. Just a wonderful display you have brought us.
(And I have that little buda statue(I'm having a total brain freeze - how is that spelled???ARGH).

Kenton, fIrst of all, your friend needs to join DG asap. secondly, I am absolutely crazy about daff sunny side up. Mayb they don't grow in my area, but I would like the name of the humoungous daff. I'm into "exageration" plants.

Vancouver, WA(Zone 7a)

Here's a planting of daffodils "Tete-a-Tete" and "Dutch Master" with Dutch Hyacinths "Marconi" that I think turned out especially well.

A close-up of hyacinth "Marconi". I love the pink on this one!

Well that is a lot of bulbs! Kenton are you going to divulge the name of the biggun? I have Fortissimo, bought a pack of 5, 2 of them are a split cup but the Fortissimo are huge, with a very large, bright orange trumpet. I haven't got a pic, they haven't flowered yet, I will have to measure them!

flowerfrenzy I love the Hyacinths, they do look happy.

Tam, it's Buddah.

You will be pleased to know my N Jetfire has developed it's lovely orange cup, I took this yesterday while the sun shone, then it turned really freezing and hailed. Nice today tho.

You are all teasing me! I still have 4 feet of snow in the garden! I can post my 'spring' bulbs in late May when they start in my area.....of course I have had tulips open in early July....isn't that something to boast about! LOL! Better late than never. I must live in the only part of the world where peonies and tulips can be open at the same time.

My Acacia is in full bloom, it is difficult to get a good full shot, heres a close up of the flowers

I am enjoying everyone's pictures. My digital has quit! I guess in 4 years, I have just worn it out. It will not even come on when I have new batteries in it.

I have creeping phlox blooming 3 colors, tulips, white/ yellow/ mixed daffs, muscari, dwarf iris, and so johnny jumpups. I love SPRING!

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Todd thanks for the laugh! I'm trying to imagine why tulips would bother to flower at all at that time of year! I don't suppose you can grow Acacia, one up on me!

I have Tulipa praestans Unicum in bud! This I took a while ago, it shows hairs on the edge of the leaves, funny.

It's not long since my Trillium kurabayashii come up, I looked yesterday and it has 3 buds on, just like that from nowhere, same as last year. I was hoping for more, but at least it's flowering! It only went in the ground last spring.

Flowerfrenzy: What a perfect bed with handsome soil.

Wallaby; that's Tulipa praestans 'unicum'? I can't get enough of gold-edged leaf tulips.
And what a glorious Trillium, I like the dramatically pleated leaves. (and variegation.) I had a T. erectum (I think it is) that was in the ground for two years, and finally shows a single, tiny leaf. I'm glad its alive at all in Alkaline soil.

Todd: The novelty of Tulips then will probably be most appreciated around here.

Tammy: Buddha?

The giganto-narc is (insert ridiculous drumroll)
'WP's Favorite.' Or so she said.

Voss, perhaps you could use some certain Narc she has. They came up last fall (complete leaf) and froze down, and thus did not bloom this spring. It apparently needs near-no chilling, and doesn't work in a real temperate climate! She wants to find her notes, see what it is, and get rid of them.

Kenton

Denver, CO

Yeah, "WP's" indeed. I encourage anyone (everyone) to try it out. Why would the largest daffodil not be popular?

Vancouver, WA(Zone 7a)

wallaby~

Gorgeous trillium!

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

Kenton, I googled WP's favorite, and found somebody with pics of her garden, but for some reason, it wouldn't upload.

then went to the Daff society, and couldn't fine anything. then went somewhere else and found WP Milner but that is a mini.

If somebody found something on this beauty, pls let me know. I must have, or least find out if it will even grow in south Lone Star State.

Janet that T. p. unicum is soooooo fine! (big big envious sigh here...)

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

yes thats T p Unicum, it looks like Todd has it too!

Kento there is W P Milner, I wonder if that's where the name came from.

Thanks all, the Trillium has better variegation this year, they do develop better in the ground. I bought it as a flowered, 6 year old seed grown plant. Here's last years 'flowers'

here's a fuller pic of the Acacia, not quite all of it but the clearest

No Acacia for me.....it must be one of the few plants we don't have in common...that and that freeky Trillium...gotta get me one of those! Looks similar to T. luteum.

I've had T. praestans 'Unicum' since 1993. After 13 years, they are still going strong. A worthwhile investment for sure. Strangely, I bought them locally in 1993 and have not seen them for sale since. I did find a vendor in BC so I purchased some for the alpine house in our Botanical Garden. They are just breaking the surface now. Guess they'll be out before July!

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

Love the acacia, Sunny side up daffs, T.unicum, and that great trillium-all fantastic!

Todd, great to hear what a good perennializer T.unicum is.

The natives are blooming in the woods now. I love the bloodroot.

Todd - if it makes you feel any better, as I was getting ready for work this morning I noticed that there was
a blizzard outside! Snowing so hard you could hardly see with those big fluffy flakes. It snowed the whole
drive into work (45min) too.

Tam
PS: Actually there is not 4' on the ground here, even after that however. :-)

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Neal ~ love the bloodroot. The flowers are darling!

Northwest, OH(Zone 5b)

Okay, where can I find 'Sunnyside Up'?

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Todd I used to get de Jagers catalogue, but they always seemed so expensive besides being repetitive, and after not ordering for a while they stop sending catalogues, they had T p Unicum, but I found them at Pennells eventually. They are not often seen, I think most go for the more affordable. de Jager seems to have disappeared, can't find them online but I did find a mention of a US trials where they had supplied '10' of a bulb of some sort in 1993, and results for survival in 1996. I think if you see something unusual and you want it you have to grab it, I saw a large hellebore 2-3 years ago at Pennels that was chocolate foliage and the flower bud looked black/purple. It was £11 and I was being 'good', I have kicked myself ever since!

Neal the bloodroot is so cute, I love their little 'cups'! I think T p Unicum will be a good keeper if in a dry, free draining spot I think. I have 5 others I got from somewhere, not sure where, at the bottom of a slope around my nectarine tree, but they don't look so good.

Cincinnati (Anderson, OH(Zone 6a)

It looks like Spring is definitely springing a little bit north (of Texas) now! Great pics, everyone!

I was walking in our Civic Garden park among the daffodils yesterday. What a bright and cheery spot with so many varieties blooming and more to come. Lot's of fun.

and Voss- I will look for that gargantuan daffodil there again next week and try to get an ID!

Was it Home Depot? or Costco? or maybe Lowe's that gave Neal that bulb-bonanza pricing? Well... finally...
drum roll please... MINE ARE BLOOMING!!! Take a deep breatch when you look at these first open blossems.
They smell so spicey & wonderful.

And yes ... these are in my greenhouse so its not THAT warm here. It just snowed afterall

And here's a close up of the daffodils that were here when I moved in. I think they are Rip Van Winkle (perhaps).
What do y'all think?
