Here is the picture of the dimensions of this bed. Since it will be for shade, these are the plants I have purchased for this area--3 painted ferns, several variegated hosta, and several pink astilbe. How would you place them? Would you add anything else? Thanks, Tamara
Can you help me design this bed?
If it were me, I'd totally get rid of the rectangle shape and add some curves. Maybe make it curve in at the center by the chimney and add a birdbath or statue or something. Or make one end wider and the other more narrow for interest and to draw your eye to one end or the other. Do like plants in triangle patterns or three in back and two in front for groupings. If you have enough for several plantings, either do mass or alternate groupings if you like patterns.
Thank you so much for your input! It was very helpful! Tamara
