Well thank goodness! I kept checking in all day yesterday until I had to leave home for the night. I was beginning to think this years' April Fools would be a cruel joke - NO joke!

I just read through this, and I can't believe you all fell for the trick.......I mean, of course, the trick that D A V E the computer is pulling on us right now. It knows its cover has been blown, and the only way it can regain its secret identity of Dave Whittinger is to try to fool us into thinking that this was all a trick in the first place.

There is no Dave Whittinger! And Trish is in on it! So's Terry, probably. If she's even a real person, that is! And now that it knows that I know, my own identity may be in danger. Indeed, what is that smoke coming from my keyboard??? I'm getting sleepy..........send help......mommy?

We old timers around here have grown to expect it. If he ever lets us down, it will be a big disappointment.

I can't believe it took me this long to find this thread. I remember the GW merge also and was almost in tears until I found out it was a joke. I looked several times on the first and never saw this post. I knew Dave would have a good one sometime during the day.

It was clear to me that DAVE was related TO HAL early on ,in my venture around these sites .
There were days i just knew i was not in control of my computer ,
And that DAVE was leading me around the sites , house dirty nothing to eat and here I sat browsing all the forums , I would never do that Most of the time he is a good entity but some days its double posting, slow surfing , all because he did not get enough Hibernating time ,and With HAL in his gene pool well he cant help himself
