Plant combinations

Nichols, IA(Zone 5a)

What flowers make good combinations for you?
Pink and white phlox with liatris.
Tiger lily, fulva daylily and standing cypress.
German catchfly, siberian iris and rosy foxglove.
Violet Queen monarda, shirley poppy and liatris.
Tithonia and cleome.
Tall american bellflower, purple coneflower and Franz Schubert phlox.
Purple coneflower, tall yellow yarrow and lavender phlox.
Siberian iris and trollius.

You really grow all those flowers?
Wow

I've had really good luck with sapponaria [aka soapwort] and liriope in the springtime. and surrounding my pink fairy rose with veronica spicata 'pink spires' turned out to be a great idea.

Having the sea lavender laciness come up thru the Datura's white trumpets was great but as nature planted the Datura I can't take the credit.

I need to add something to my bed of Salvia Victoria and Sedum Spectibile -- besides the skirt of annual alyssum. This year the naked lilies will be back in flower, this is their first year and they are a lovely shock of green already - Red amongst the purple should work well.

Sounds nice. I don't have a single one of those flowers. Laugh! Is sapponaria what I call Bouncing Bet? Smells like some candy from your childhood?
I've considered Liriope and the Fairy Rose.
My neighbor planted the sea holly and I'm kind of watching her's this year.
I take that back. I have the Sedum. I also have Salvia ''Carradonna.''
I left out the peptol bismal pink Penstemon and Primrose(Oenothera fructosa.) They really go well together.

Careful of that primrose, it now 'owns' one of my flower beds. It's a spreader.

Quackgrass in the main flower bed forced me to move everything, and gave me the chance to thin out! I love it, but it does tend to sneak around!

Clematis on a trellis w/ a rose at its base to protect the roots from too much heat.

Which Clematis and which rose? Sounds like a pretty combo. I'm looking for a Clematis and I seem to be partial to the deep red.
