Garden Markers

Frankfort, KY

I've spent the day painting names of plants on flat rocks with green acryllic paint. For some of the bushes, with names too long for rocks, I used firewood. Looks pretty good.

That is so neat Kyjoy! Beats the silver markers you write on, plus it's all ''natural.'' (smile)

I've tried everything, expensive to cheap, but nothing lasts from year to year. I'm anxious to see if these do. Speaking of natural, I edge my flower beds with cedar shingles. I purchase them at Lowe's and cut them in half before pounding them into the ground.

Best markers I've used in pots of seedlings etc are pieces of old Venetian blinds. I cut to size with scissors and round the tops and point bottom and mark with a china marking crayon - writing does not fade!

I have the old blinds cut and ready to go, yesterday I bought a paint marker, which had been recommended. Now all I need is the time to do the markers. Maybe if I can get myself away from this keyboard for awhile I could get some done.
