I'll be growing both the cucks and melon this year. I tried the lemon cucks for the first time last year and loved them. The 'Ambrosia' cantaloupe it very good too. It's been a couple of years since I grew the cantaloupe though. I can hardly wait until I can harvest a couple to enjoy.

As far as seeds started I've got alot (too many to list) but my daughter insisted on having some of her own to take care of, so we sowed some broccoli, sunflowers, geraniums and some type of ornamental grass last night.

Minneapolis, MN(Zone 4b)

Does it count if I did winter sowing? If so I planted 70 kinds of perennials. Mostly flowers some grasses. A good share of them natives.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

of course winter sowing counts.....it's the best kinda sowing.......if the seeds dont get carried away by critters.......
I took everything outside today. we'll see how they do. a lot of the seed were starting to get leggy.....

Minneapolis, MN(Zone 4b)

There is nothing leggy about mine. They are under that snow.

so far, 5 types of toms, golden bell and mini red bell peppers, cracker jack marigolds, basil, marjoram, sugar snap peas... and, I got another shop light this weekend, so going to plunk some more stuff into starter trays soon. A few months ago I put winter rye in the area that will someday become a pasture. I don't know if any will sprout - the birds knew exactly what I was doing and were out digging in the sand moments after I went inside! ... still 2 months before anything that must be direct sown can go out :-(

Alexandria, IN(Zone 6a)

i've got two different kinds of radishes going, yellow and red pear tomatoes, purple majesty and jester ornamental millet and carmincita castor beans. i think i've had 100% luck with every seed so far. the hardest thing for me is thinning. i hate cutting all those little radish sprouts. debi

Won some seeds from a nursery in England a few mounth back.
Do not remember the name, it is a very high and hardy bamboo.
If I just could find thouse seeds… hmm found them last week and put them some were so I could remember were they were. But I am totally blank, can`t remember a thing LOL

Liked this ornamental grass, found it very expensive but liked it very much.
It cost 21 danish crowns (about 3.50 – 4.00 $)
Had a big shock when I opened it, there was only one microscopic seed!.

I hope I can ask this question on this thread - I started my seeds last weekend - to discover that they come up in less than 4 days - I was happy until I saw most of them coming up very 'leggy' Please help - I have so many of them on my kitchen counter I don't want to lose them - Please help. Most of them are bleeding hearts, astice, and dahlias (from seed)- I just want to put them outside, I don't know if it's a good idea. Can they be saved? Did I start too soon? Thanks for the help.

Petunias, tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, kohlrabi and Pac Choi. The last 3 are already up from last Sundays sowing.
Perennial seeds go in soon.

Rose, If your seedlings look 'leggy', they may need more light.
Find a sunnier window or put them under lights.

Thanks Andy - I will try that.

I haven't planted many seeds outside yet, not really warm enough. I live at 1450 feet el. and just far enough away from Aeneas mtn. to see the top. The saying around here is if there is still snow on A. mt don't plants seed outside, and I can still see snow, so only plant very hardy things. My raised beds, only have three,, 2 are 4x4, and one 4 x8, are just getting ready to plant.

Yesterday I planted soaked nasturtiums, i variety of sunflower, and a few other annuals. In the gh have 6 or7 varieties of tomatoes, some tomatoes have been transplanted twice and are now in 4" deep pots, others are still small just getting first true leaves.

Peppers and egglplant transplanted, Lots of annuals etc. just about ready to transplant.

6 types of toms (Mortgage Lifter, Sweet Baby Girl Cherry, Yellow Pear, Steak Sandwich, Mexico Midget, Roma VF), 2 sweet bells (Golden Bell, Mini-Red), Cracker Jack Marigolds (transplanted some to pots today), 2 basils (Mamoth and Common), Marjoram. Started snap dragons a while a go and they are potted up and 8" tall. Started hardening them off this morning. Sugar snap peas in a pot are about 1" high. Still too cold for them at night, so I'm hauling them and my bucket of daffodils in and out of the house. Daffs go out at night, peas come in. During the day, I reverse them so I can enjoy the daffodil blooms inside (Daffs will go outside permanently after blooming - they were "forced" bulbs, but I'm going to feed and water and plunk them in the ground later, so hopefully in a year or two, they'll bloom again). Lavender seeds are in the fridge - didn't realize I had bought non-pre-chilled seed this year... need ANOTHER grow light, I'm sure! And a bigger dining room! ... only have one seed starting tray right now (that may be a GOOD thing for the moment), so will be forced to transplant the rest of the toms and peppers at the right time so I can start some more types of veggies before last frost :-) Oh, store bought garlic doing well in a pot by the window, and cuttings from a Thanks Giving Day sweet potato that escaped the oven doing well.

Is it SPRING yet? When, oh when will I be able to stick things in the ground!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Pebble, I really expected your seed packs to be a bit more exotic. LOL

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

lol Bad, these seeds I brought back from the States.....the exotics are a dime a dozen here........
well, my plants got real leggy too. so i tried something, i replanted them, and planted the whole leggy part under soil and just left the leaves out. we'll see if this does something to help. I would hate to loose my lemon cukes and cantaloupes, which are the leggiest.
