This year I planted 500 tulips in blocks in my cutting garden. While it's still 35 degrees here in the frozen tundra, I am wondering what kind of annual or veggie I can plant over these bulbs once they're over. I know real tulip nuts only use their bulbs once and pull them out for the composter and that frees up their beds for sucession planting, but I'm too much of a tightwad for that.
Can anyone suggest something that can grow on top of tulip bulbs? Or am I just gonna have to cover that bed w/ straw for the rest of the summer?
Thanks!

After my tulips go by...
You can plant a lot of things in with the tulips.
Visit the 'Bulbs' forum and see.
If you don't see the answer, ask. You will get lots of help.

Thanks, Andy. I will.
The thing that worries me is, they are planted one right next to another...on 2-3" centers...
