Just for the adventure I decided to plant a New England Purple Dome Aster this spring. As a matter of fact, I decided to plant 35 plants (of different kinds that I have never grown before yesterday) all total. However I planted the Aster first. Big mistake. While planting other plants in the near vicinity, I stepped on the Aster...not once, not twice, but three times. That was yesterday. Today the aster is perky and shows no wear and tear despite being stepped on.
Take care,
Chuck
Asters
LOL CBernard. I can imagine what a beautiful show you're going to have, as my neighbor has quite a few asters. I hope you put out an Alma Potsche. Most beautiful rose-red!!! Your yard should be full of butterflies!
billyporter,
I think that this is a misunderstanding. I only planted one New England Aster. The other 34 plants for this year were ornamental allium, penstemons, blanket flowers, coral bells, asclepias, golden rod, Mexican Hat Prairie Coneflowers, Red Devil Verbena, agastaches, and Hirpicium. I ordered them last December.
Today I planted bronze leaf fennel and parsley from a local nursery.
Thanks,
Chuck
Whoops, well, just imagine if you had! What a great plant list. I have most of those. How fun it is to have so many things to look forward to. I've been meaning to try alliums.
