Hey Debbie!! Good to hear from you. Why are you up so early?? I like it too when the sun rises early. It may sound like I'm complaining a few posts back, but I actually like being up with extra time before I have to go to work. I like it lighter later too. I hate coming home in the dark. Funny, my parents live in NC. When I say that that the sun has set, they still have daylight. I can't speak for the sunrise. Do you find that it stays lighter longer by you than up here?
Fresh pot of coffee for 3/7/06

I think I'm losing this one
never done jury duty - I 'd be an ace in the hole for a tiebreaker tho.
I did jury duty once - what a waste of time - at least that is how I felt based on my experience. I got called for Grand Jury a couple of years ago. That's a month's service, or so I am told! I sent them a letter from me saying how I wasn't going to be paid by my employer and couldn't pay bills if I didn't get paid. My employer wrote a letter explaining how I am the only trainer and would put their business on hold. Then I put everything in an envelope and shipped the entire packet back to them. I waited for the knock on my door to take me away, but it never happened. phew!
Hey Al - I saw in another thread that you had a bad day?? Need to vent? Go ahead, I'm braced..... If not - hope today is better for you.
You would have to send me an email
you have dmail
You know that lady from France sent me a dmail thanking me for her reply on her painting, but she never put it in identification yet. I could link it in, but she would need to answer any questions on it.
Andy - did you put your sedum inbecause you could recognize my flopped sudum in my last pic? I had guessed 7 on your bees there.
Hey - where is everyone??? I'm lonely, stuck in the office and since I got out for a bit today, I have a huge case of Spring Fever!!!! It's in the 60's today!
Hey Neeter,
almost made it to 50 today, took the dog out for a walk to see if we could see the eagles in a nest down by the river - too far away. We have 2 eagles nests within a mile of our house. They like the open river year round - one of the few north flowing rivers in the world!
now that's cool - your mission...du,du,,,du,du,du,,,du,du....if you choose to accept is to capture those eagles.....on kodachrome!!! or digital!
Hi Anita!!!
Just settling down. Sidekick Sarah had to have her walk, we missed yesterday. There is a lot of salt on the roads and yesterday was wet.
I see 2 Bees, too. Pretty flowers.
rcn/Debbie, Got your D-Mail. I thought I would get a link to an information site. You spelled it all out for me. Now to see if I can understand it all. I'll tackle that when I have a bit more time. Thank you so much, you will get my first 'collage'.
They say, writing things down and helping someone else expands your own understanding of the subject. You must be a wiz by now, LOL.
Al, can't say that I noticed your Sedum in that last pic. They're not very showy in winter.

Just ended the second week at that antique house today. With so many other trades people there, it's hard for me to make visible headway. They started gutting one bathroom and the kitchen today, how can I paint with all that dust? I've been scraping, washing, patching and priming for 2 weeks. Frustrating.
The owner wants to be in by April first, NO WAY....
Andy P
Hey Andy...don't you love when employers are so realistic??? How are Sarah's pads with all the salt?? Thanks on compliment...that's one of my favorite pics.
As long as she has no cuts on fer feet, she is OK.
I don't like to walk her when there is salty water, she splashes all over herself.
If it's as warm as predicted tomorrow it will be bath time. She hates that.
I hook up a garden hose to the basement sink for warm water and bathe her in the yard. She gets a big chewie after. Then runs like the wind to dry off, LOL.
Andy P
and rolls in the grass??? I know my friend's dog does that all the time!!!
Anita,
I'll have to get the big camera out with the zoom. Although the one nest is close to a street. There were a pair of eagles nesting in a city park in Appleton last year that we got so so pics of.
Hey Andy - last year I missed a funny pic as it was getting dark, on my heliopsis I had a bumble bee sleeping on top of a honey bee.
took a picture of last years sunflower stump today
Every fall I get the bees 'asleep' on my sedum. Not sure what's up with that...
Al, Must be a slow day for ya. That must have been a BIG Sunflower.
This is the room where I spent most of the day today.
Notice a missing wall, that came down 2 days ago. Someone actually cut the fireplace mantel to put that stupid wall up. Now an entire new mantel is needed. The brick hearth is sinking, too.
The new windows went in yesterday.
Do you see the cool bi-fold shutters? They fit into pockets in the wall. I'm told that is rare but not unheard of. First time I see that.
No sooner had I painted the insides of the shutters, the carpenter turned on the saw. He had assured me that I had the room for the day, NOT.
Andy P
Anita, Have you ever petted a Bumble Bee? They are soft and furry.
On cool days they 'rest' and will allow you to gently pet them. No kidding.
Andy P
Andy - I think you forgot the pic?? No, I have never 'petted' a Bumble Bee. I agree that they are probably soft and furry - they certainly look like it. Just makes me a bit nervous and I don't want those fear hormones alerting them.
Andy - I am assuming that you have seen all these pics already, I'm sick of them by this time of year too.
3 years ago I went for tall
http://davesgarden.com/journal/d/i/9067/
14' - cheated and tied them to the fence
last year I got a large one - I have a personal sunflower model
http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/bigcityal2000/detail?.dir=ff00&.dnm=94fc.jpg
stayed up until a late fall storm tipped it down
this year I have 'Honey Bear' for something else different
BTW - I have never been stung by a bumble bee - they are always on flowers I'm deadheading too
was I bored today - Oh come on - actually I was looking at my daff's coming up in that bed
I think one climbing on your nose would be better.
I had a wasp on my hand today. They are coming up through holes in the floor of that room. Spring is here.....
I'm planting Sunflowers this year. Big red ones in front of the living room window.
Andy P
I hate bees - I leave them alone, but the jackets always bug me!!
must be because you're so sweet!
Is Dena lurking here now?
Dave(not gone) are you gone yet?
You're just buttering me up....
I haven't seen Dena all day! She must be on HD patrol!
Dave doesn't leave until tomorrow. I am sure he's been busy with work since he will be off for a week. Then he probably has to pack. Boy, I'm gonna miss him! I hope he brings me back a present!
How many times did you have to read thru that to make sure it was in the right order 1. miss 2. present

Hey! Not gone yet!
Just had a scare when I called Delta & they said they had no record of my flight after searching for 20 minutes. Fortunately my cell phone went dead. I called again and the new service rep found my reservations immediately. There was more than a little panic here for about 1/2 an hour.
Al, great sunflowers. That seed head was huge! I never saw anything like that.
Yellow jackets & wasps are aggressive. Honey and bumble bees are not. I always deadhead around bumbles too. Unless you hurt them they won't bother you.
I fly at noon tomorrow.
I'm talented Al - I just know how to answer!
Dave - you flying with the bums and honeys?
Appearently, I almost wasn't flying at all. But as far as whether I'm flying with any honeys, that's none of your beeswax!
Oh god! Really need vacation.
LOL!!! Al..how are we gonna survive without Dave's humor!!!!!!!!!
One day at a time Anita - one day at a time.
I'm sure he'll check in a couple times a day.
I don't have a laptop so you won't here from me. I'll have a lot of catching up to do when I get back.
Dave, Go to a library and log in from there, lol
I had to do that last Summer when my laptop got sick.
I needed my on-line 'fix'.
Andy P
I really am thinking Anita will print out the threads everyday and overnite them there.
I think I'll be too tied up showing my 6 yr old the wonders of Disney to get to the library Andy. Good suggestion though.
Al,that could work! And I believe she is capable of using google to find out where I'm staying!
aww shucks guys...
Is she tracking you too? She sent me some strange ankle bracelet as a present.
