leaf layering
i knew a lady who told me her method of leaf layering and has gargantuin veggies she would lay down trenched out furoughs newspaper multple sheets then a heavy layer of leaves then repeat the process till the trench was full then mound up the dirt on top and plant in the spring but ive seen the same method used with using dirt layers as well and planting right on top fresh, but know no how well the latter works. with no other soil medium to influance the mix and proper moister it takes a couple of weeks for newspaper to brakdown and much longer for the leaves...
