I heard that composting with asparagus fern causes problems in the compost heap. Anyone know anything about this?
composting with asparagus fern
i believe the problem would be that the fern never dies. you would end up with it all over your garden and you can't get rid of it. trying to dig it out is a nightmare, believe me!
:-))))) Big grin here, Been there done that. LOL
Are you speaking of the tops of edible asparagus, or the ornamental? My question is of the edible asparagus tops, you know, the fern when you allow the asparagus to bloom when the harvest is done, so the roots can feed.
i was speaking of the ornamental asparagus fern. you must be referring to the flower on the edible? i don't know. maybe someone else knows, if not, maybe try googling it or putting the question in the forum for vegetables or farmlife. edited to spell vegetable correctly! LOL
