grasshoppers...mean..big mouth suckers!

Anybody else out there noticing with the mowing of outlaying fields, the advent of those dreaded grasshoppers that chew every thing that gets in their way? Most effective, environmentally safe form of irradication sought.

Jerrie- I keep bird feeders out-sunflower for the song birds and hen-scratch for the sparrows, grackles,Blue Jays, etc. Some people keep flocks of Guineas, others say wheat bran and D.E. works well. Don't think there is one fool-proof answer.

I might have found a good irradicator. Hee Hee...I found my cat "Homey" pouncing on them and devouring them, that'll teach 'em to stay out of my gardens......yeah, right.

I think the rain brings them in by the bucket fulls here in Ga. and crickets also. I have a 7 year old grandson that loves catching the crickets. I have enough for him and about 100 more grandson's. I'll have to get some bird food and hope my grandson loves birds. Jim
