2nd Annual Nor Cal Stockton Roundup - April 29, 2006

Hi everyone! Hope you are all getting a day of sunshine like we are! I almost forgot what we were missing. LOL
Just some info to share,

I will have nametags, paper plates, tablecloths, plasticware and styrofoam cups. That is ALL. So if your dish to share needs a serving utensil please bring one.
If you ordered tags & pens from George, you will need to pay him at Roundup.
Bring lawnchairs or a blanket to sit on, depending on the weather. I will try to get a spot with tables & benches, but I cannot promise that.
Kachinagirl and ZZsbabiez are bringing portable tables so if we can't get a spot with a table we are still covered.
There is a $5 entry fee at the gate.

so that is what you will be looking for to find us. When you come in the gate, the road is shaped like a big horseshoe. You will just work your way around the park following the horseshoe road. We will be setting up at 9:30am so even if your early, we should be there. I will be driving my "old" mobile (64 chevelle) to transport my plants. DH does not allow me to put things with dirt in his car. LOL So look for an old cream colored car with a Daves sign on the front if you don't see the big sign.
Remember, seeds are nice to share too, I will bring a box of sandwich bags to put them in.
If anyone has a current Sunset Western Garden book or something like that for people to look things up in, please bring it.
If you have any questions, please ask so there will not be any confusion on RU day. And if anyone thinks of anything I am forgetting, PLEASE tell me. I think I forget more then I remember. LOL

I think we are going to have a fine turnout! See you all in 16 days! I am SO excited!!! :~)

I absolutely hate to say this, but I will be unable to attend after all. Many things have come up for that same weekend that are quite important that I go to. I am so sorry, as I was really looking forward to meeting you all finally.

I have ordered some tags from George and will send him a check for them. Is there anyone who would be willing to send them to me?

I have an older Sunset book I think.. it is good for that.. I'll throw it in the car so I won't forget.
I also have hundreds of ziplock baggies.. the 2x2" small ones for seeds..
I will bring Ice and a couple of Ice Chests and some water bottles and some kind of juice so we will have plenty to drink..

The pens and tags have arrived and have been divided up and package for each of the lucky buyers. I am packing up various plants to swap.
Sort of like the old Mervyn's ad.

Hey, this pertains to last years Roundup and anyone that got an acnistus plant from me. It is not acnistus. I had started a thread in Identification forum and here is a link if this applies to you.

TOMORROW 10AM IS THE BIG DAY! YIPPIEEEEE!!!!!
I will check on Daves tomorrow before I leave the house at 9am, so if anyone has to ask me questions, make sure you have them d-mailed to me before then or I will not get them! Remember, roundup is NOT AT MY HOUSE but at MICKE GROVE PARK! A link is in the first post above.
Don't forget your chairs/blankets, food, drinks, serving utensils if needed and most importantly, your plants/seeds. LOL Oh, and cameras!
Geesh, I think I make these lists more for myself then for you all. LOL

Well, roundup is over, it was alot of fun. Hope everyone got home safely and had a good time. I really enjoyed seeing you all, old friends and new. :~)
I know we will all be busy planting all our new goodies this weekend, everyone was so generous! Thank you all!
I will be starting a thread in the Roundup Pictures forum and will add a link here as soon as I get it started.

Sorry I missed it . My wife went to Doctor Friday and he told her to stay in bed for a couple of days . So 4 of us didn't show .

Oh Donna! Thank you so much for all you have done... The RU was great, the food was awesome, and the plants were just toooooo cool.
We had a great time.... my favorite thing in the whole world to do is eat, play with plants and chat about gardening and go home with new plants... who could ask for more???????

It was my pleasure. You are all such terrific people!
The food was really good, I think people need to post their recipes, hint hint. :~)

I'm so sorry I had to miss the special occasion, I was stuck babysitting my 3 grandkids, darn it anyhow, I hope you will have one next year as well, hint hint, lol, I had such a good time last year!

sorry you could not come, it was alot of fun. I do plan on having another next year, are you going to do the Castro Valley one again?

I'm not sure yet, if I can do it free, then maybe I will. I lost too much money last year! I keep thinking about it, it really was so much fun. Since we were the only group there then, maybe I don't need a reservation????

It was a nice park and our numbers were fairly small. We could find a place in that big park to squeeze into. LOL
