2nd Annual Nor Cal Stockton Roundup - April 29, 2006

Stockton, CA(Zone 9a)

Hi all,
just wanted to let you know that I am in the process of putting together our 2006 Roundup. Wanted everyone to have time to reserve the date & also get things rooted/grown. It will be held on April 29th, 2006, 10AM. I will put all updates in this original post, so check frequently for any edits. (I don't think edits show up as new posts.) I will also post to the Roundup forum once the date is set.
Anyway, we had a blast last year and am really looking forward to seeing everyone again. I encourage anyone in the area to make the effort to attend. You will not regret it. :~) Good people, good food and plants! What could be better?
If anyone wants to be in charge of a wishlist/tradelist thread, let me know. We will set up the food the same way we did it last year, I thought it worked out well. Everyone bring their own sandwich and drink, and a sidedish or dessert to share. And don't forget a lawnchair or blanket to sit on.

So on your mark, get set, PLANT!

Donna

Joyce and everyone Oh yeah this sounds so fun!! I hope to be there, but that is the start of my work season. If nothing else I'll just get the 24 hr bug and miss work , that is if I'm working close enough =>).
Joyce no brug babies yet but the seeds are all swollen up and looking good. How far is Lodi from Farmington? I'm supposed to go to work in Farmington some time this month.

Lauri

Northern California, CA(Zone 9a)

Count me in! Can't wait! I could use some more info on what a 'round up' is. Can someone point me there?
Laurie in Napa Valley

Fremont, CA(Zone 9a)

A roundup is sort of like a high school reunion with plants instead of beer.
A gathering of DGer's to share food, stories and plants.
In 2005 I managed to go to three and meet wonderful (somewhat nutty) people at each. I look forward to seeing an even larger group this year.

Union City, CA(Zone 9b)

I'll planning on going . Count me in .
This is my first .
Are plants traded , given away , sold - Seeds , Cuttings ?
How do I find these forum again and add to forums I am watching ?

Stockton, CA(Zone 9a)

Tony,
you can either bring plants/seeds/cuttings to trade or just bring plants to share. No buying or selling. Last year we had a trade thread started and people posted what they had and what they were looking for. Others just brought their things to share & we all just took what we wanted. I set up trades last year, but to be honest, it was a hassle for me. This year I am just going to set out what I have and whom ever wants it, they are welcome to it. But that is just me, others may prefer to pre-arrange their trades. If someone wants to start a trade thread, please do.
Feel free to bring cuttings, seeds, whatever you have that you want to share.
Right above my first post you will see WATCH THREAD. If you click on that, you will be notified of any posts to this thread every time you sign in to Daves.

Citrus Heights, CA(Zone 9b)

San Diego, CA

How far is Stockton from UC Berkely?
Mark

SF Bay Area, CA(Zone 9b)

It's about 80 miles from Berkeley to Stockton. Mark, are you coming to UC Berkeley Botanical Garden's Spring Plant Sale? Your question reminded me that the sale is the same day as the Roundup, so I WON'T be able to attend the Roundup because I'm in charge of the cactus and succulents for the sale. Aaarrrrggghhh!!!

Mark, your timing for both events might be a little tight. The plant sale is 9-2, which is about the same time as the Roundup. Maybe you could become a member of the Garden and attend the Berkeley sale Friday night instead? Think about it.

Marilyn

Galt, CA(Zone 9a)

Hey there Donna!
I will surely be there! Keep reminding me!! LOL It was so fun last year!!!!
Janie
