Ohio Valley Region Forum???

Charlotte, NC(Zone 8a)

After looking at another version of the ecological map that was posted, I have formed some titles for a possible forum for us:
(1) Ohio Valley forum
(2) Ohio Valley Ecosystems
(3) Ohio Ecosystems forum
(4) Ohio Rivers forum
What the title of the map was, is certainly appropriate ... Ohio River Valley Ecosystem

I like "ohio river valley ecosystem" or "ohio river ecosystems"

without the word 'river' in the title one thinks of the 'state' and that's not what we want to connote.

very 'stylish' with the word ecosystem, too....

I'm with you tabasco. Ecosystem suggests inclusion of all those with similar growing conditions.

Just ran across this thread, got my vote! I wish it had exsisted 3 years ago when we first moved down here, sure would have helped.

Southwestern, OH(Zone 6b)

And without "Valley" in it, one would think it was only for those right on the river, something else we don't want to do.

Ohio River Valley Ecosystems does sound stylish and all encompassing.

If it comes about I'd think it will probably be Ohio River Valley Gardening or Lower Midwest Gardening though.

Terry or Mystic how do the Forum names get picked anyway?

Terry do you all track the views/reads as well as the replies? Just asking cuz I am mainly a lurker... Unless I just get talky.

Georgetown, KY(Zone 6a)

Thanks Terry, and I'm sorry to have bothered you about it. I didn't know we were supposed to use the "contact us" link on the bottom of the page--I bet there are others who weren't aware of it either. Glad you posted your response, I was just about to cut and paste to let everyone know. I'm not too fast at catching on at my age, glad you are so forgiving.

southernOhio, we don't track views for a couple reasons:

1) the counter was disabled (it's a bit of a resource "hog", and Dave took it offline early last year; he kept it offline when several people mentioned they were relieved it was gone); and

2) even if it were in place, it wouldn't necessarily give an indication of the number of unique users who had read the thread, since it's likely that several people are watching the thread and re-enter it each time a new post is made.

TuddyE, you're definitely not the only one who has zipped past the "Before emailing Terry, please read this note: on my dmail page (*grin*)

I approve of this idea. Terry - if you like it, please do create this forum. Please follow the same format we use for other forums (region_abbr) and so forth.

Thank you so much Dave. :-)

Wow, what a bad time of the year to have a conference in Chicago.... I hope the weather is as nice up there as it is down here. :-)
