I am a computer lab instructor for mentally challenged adults. I also do some of their horitculture classes.
Oh I love my work Allison..so it is never too hard :)
Putting face to the names
Lorry that sounds really interesting, rewarding and I would guess challenging. What sort of classes do they offer- horticulture to computer seems pretty varried! They are lucky to have such a talented and genuinely nice instructor.
By the way, it is a beautiful picture of you. From the photos posted before and this one, you seem to be very photogenic- wish I was.
LOL you are too kind. I have yet to see a photo that I liked of myself :)
We are always our own worst critics
Well my main job is computer class...The horticulture is just because no one else wanted to do those classes *laugh*
They also have cooking, sewing, employability skills and so forth.
We also train them to work outside of the workshop along with them doing piece work at the workshop.
You must not be looking at the right pictures!
Wow sounds like some good classes- I think you are right for those horticulture classes. Even if some of the students don't work in it for a living, everybody needs a hobby or interest other than work. Maybe we forget that about challenged individuals.
Lorry is very photogenic, kind and loves to share..hey..that's why she's so pretty!!..
"Beaming" is the word that comes to mind. A bit like sunshine.
Kenton...that is absolutely it!!
*laugh* You guys are too kind...really..To kind!
I think everyone has sunshine in them...it is just that some lose it along the way :)
Luckily the people here never have!
we don't have enough common sense to lose it...roflmbbo...a "serendipity" around every corner...
How serendipitous.
Oh, there he goes using big words again :) LOL

Sarah
Char I love your hair! Red has always been my favorite hair color. I even died mine red years ago, but the fake stuff fades to fast and never looks as nice as the real thing!

Oh NOOOOOOO!!!!
I am NOT going to post my photo amongst all these stunners.:o(
Begonia, Daughter?????? You both look about the same age!
oh YEEEESSSS...spider you must! I dare you to...I double dare you...
yup spidey, and she's going to be 18 in a few months! My son is 13, but acts 25!
oh and you must post a photo! please!!
I will once I find my blooming camera. I promise. But I will not be alone. Spider will be with me and you all will have to guess which one am I.
Kenton :) You are a total cutie! So don't you dare call yourself an ugly duckling!
We have good looking guys in our forum !
Kenton you are too cute! We have no ugly ducklings in our group! No I don't have to whip him, he's just one of those good kids who wants to over achieve! Honor roll, starting pitcher on the baseball team, starting quarterback on the football team, mr popularity etc. (yea, I'm bragging).
But when I say acts 25, he and DH were arguing over who gets to read the Sports Illustrated Swim Suit edition yesterday! I told him to put Molly Simms fold out on his wall and he blushed!
My daughter is amazing too, she's a budding photographer and wants to go to art school after she graduates in June. Smart as a whip too! She was our star goalie but had to quit after an injury in a soccer tournement. Another player kicked her so hard it ruptured her kidney and that side lined her for two years while it healed.
(yup, I'm a proud mom!!)
With reason. Good job, Laurie.
Ermmm...excuse me Kenton. You are too good looking for the ugly duck spot. Make way for me!
Ahhhhhh.......Colorado. I love Colorado!!!!!!
Begonia, you have every reason to be proud!
Chris, I used to work in a psychiatric hospital and did sessions from Horticulture to Confidence building, self esteem to sports. I loved that job!
Hey Kenton - who's the cutie in the picture? A friend of yours?
Yes, I pretend not to know him in public!
lol - I guess that means you don't tend to talk to yourself much..that would be a good thing!
i talk to myself all of the time....roflmbbo...(mostly when i do something stupid...like walk into the thorns on the ponderosa lemon tree)
I do too - but I leave my cell phone hands free head set on and then everyone thinks I'm just on the phone..try it, it works! [just kidding]
anita...that's funny...ROFLMBBO
I've seen the reverse- a little chinese man babbling aways loudly to himself-as it appears while he looks at eggs in the grocery store. He did a great deal of looking at perishable items and talking about indeterminable things when I realized he had the faintest and smallest bit of wire wrapped around an ear to talk to!
Kenton
