OH MY!!!! I was awestruck once again at the brugmansia happy toes has....I just could not believe them, cause mine are only about 6 inches tall, and the width of a pencil, hers are trees, with the trunk about 5-6 inches around...bowled me over...and they have tons of buds.
It never fails, when I visit Karma, I come away with a ton of new plants... she gives me so many plants, this time my car was stuffed to the brim...both trunk and back seat.
I got several big boxes of red hot pokers, one big planter of calla lillies, two passion vines (one for a friend that went with me) 4 or 5 brug starts.....a handfull of Daturas, a huge bucketfull of soap warts (?) I'm pretty sure that's what they were, they have these lovely velvety blue flowers
and many other things I cant think of right at this moment.
I had just put in a new flower bed, and now they will be full of "Karma happy toes flowers" in fact I should name that bed after her...
I wish you all could come meet karma in person, she is a hoot, an ever present smile and a twinkle in her eyes.... and what laughter..
it was so much fun seeing all her plants, and flowers. each time I go visit her, I learn so much more.
THANK YOU Karma for your kind generocity, all your plants will be in their new beds by this week.
Happy gardening
Visited Karma "happy toes" this weekend
pebble, she said you left plants behind. What in the world were you thinking?????? I bet you two had a blast! Can't wait to see pictures of your new beds:)
Well geez Louizeeee, she gave me so many, and after all, I went empty handed, because what on earth can you take to the gardner that has everything, and besides i have nothing exotic or anything like that, and her gardens are like visiting public gardens that are maintained to the hilt....
Well, so I still left with a carfull of plants, it's just that her generocity is overwhelming, and if you say: Oh I like that plant, next thing you know you have one set aside to take home, so there toward the end, I wasnt saying that I liked anything cause i felt soooo bad about going empty handed.....
it was such fun!!!

nahhhhh, don't think I could do that!
It's like being a kid in a candy shop, and you can have whatever you want, then as you're leaving the proprietor says, here: take another handful for the road.
You guys dont know what you're missing being on the other side of the country!

Pebble,
Uh how about we send you priority stamps, then next time you are there just pack the boxes up and ship them before you head home? LOL This way you are not actually empty handed!
LOL Tim, wouldnt that look a bit odd????
Karma, I think we need to convince all the folks to move here.....would this town rock or what???
I really wish the folks from DG could pop into your gardens, they would love them.
Happy gardening to you Karma, take it easy in your garden and for goodness sake, wear a hat! I ALMOST GOT SUNTROKE THE OTHER DAY
LOL kHT, I can't tell you how many times that little saying has run through my mind when I'm waiting on a particulare flower. Now there's a new one "where's the bud" LOL!!
well.....I really want a bud on my brug!!! :)
I agree with little rock karma everone would love it here, did not know you were close to us just up here a small wander.[ more should visit] Just to the north JACK
Hey Jack, I love Nanaimo, I have taken my children up there 2-3 times, (I had to go on biz and took them along for the ride) They keep asking me when we're going to go again. I'll have to plan another mill trip and extend my visit.
Karma, yeah - I think so, you can drive your van, and we can pick up Joy in Kalama, meplant in Kelso, and Quyn in Olumpia and head on up north, would that be a blast or what???????
Boy oh boy - a field trip......
Once we get to nanaimo, we can play there for a day, then head on over to Victoria and visit the gardens???????/
what a great field trip - lets do it...............
Karma, let's think about it, why not?
by the way, is Quyn on her cross country trip????
Pebble,
I think so, SDogslover posted she met quynh.
You should plan to stay two days nanaimo, paksville, qualicum, some very nice garden Estates to view. My wife is from minnesota, so she is game, we go to seattle 2 or 3 times a year to get off island. Avisit soon may be in order.
Jack
