You guys make me so ashamed. I got up AFTER 9, sat back down and went back to sleep and woke up after 12. Now I feel like I ache all over. I don't know why I am so tired lately. I sat down last night and fell to sleep at 8pm, didn't sleep long, but always wake up with my heart pounding and NOT refreshed. LOL
I need to actually do something today.
Casey, I sure do hope you can get your house. That is so frustrating.
Mary, Amanda Panda is the perfect name. I should have thought of that. My DD had a Panda Bear that looks just like her.
Wallaby, my DD just married a guy from London. She is getting her masters at Purdue, and they met online. I know, I know....BUT he is a wonderful guy. They just had their first anniversary in November.
I love his accent. LOL
Woofens, I feel your pain. LOL
Defoe, my best wishes to your MIL.
Sarv, would love to trade a sunset or two for a couple of nice rainy days. We need the moisture soooo bad.
Well, I am going to attempt to accomplish something today besides sitting on here. LOL
Be back later to catch up.
Susan

Coffee and...For Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005
Carat, a delicate situation here. I noted you had started on the house, but in reality you should not have been given the keys until all was signed, done and dusted. Nothing is legal until those papres have changed hands. I am wondering if you have put up a substantial deposit? I hope not, there could be someone trying to get your money under false pretenses. A solicitor normally handles all this for you, have you spoken to them about it?
Not too sure who the underwriters would be, i imagine the process would be similar to here, although differences do occur. Underwriters are mostly insurers, and this is often needed for a loan, so if you have a solicitor handling it for you surely it would be up to them to make sure all is in order. I am not sure what a judge has to do with it, unless it is the subject of a reposession order from the previous owners.
You should have a very good talk to you solicitor, and if you can't trust them is there a public advisory service you can approach? I am really sorry for you, it is such a minefield, and if you are not entirely aware of what is going on it can be very distresssing.
Chin up, we're all pulling for you, and at the end of the day it is your dream, that makes it much harder, but your health and happiness much more important. Try to remain positive.
Wallaby, we dont have the keys exactly and we haven't put any money into the house or property exactly. In the state of Nevada, where I currently live and where my bank is you need to have a loan officer and an underwriter for the loan paper work. In the state of South Carolina where the house and property are and the insurance company is you are required to have a state licences underwriter for the insurance and an attorney. Also in the state South Carolina in probate cases a probate lawyer or judge is involved to assure that certain things that are specified in the will are carried out.
I have had to pay for the lawyer and judge time, the court time, filing of paperwork and certification of documents. The house has been empty for awhile so several inspections had to be done at our expense and from those inspections certain requirements for code violations had to be completed by the sellers.
It has basically been a jumping through the hoops experience for us and for the families that are trying to settle the estate of the original owners.
The deposit on the house is still sitting in a trust account until the papers are signed or we call it quits. So we really haven't lost that money thank goodness but it is not accessable to us and not earning any interest for us sitting there.
I did get a call from the secretary of the courts and she said that she is waiting on a fax for verification that the property is clear of hazard materials. At one point someone dumped a load of lye on the side of the house. Why or when no one has a clue but it all had to be removed and soil tests had to be run to ensure that the well water had no been affected. That report is one of 5 papers that are missing from the documents that were ordered by the judge to be included in the papers.
If I hear anything else I will let you all know. I think I am going to ditch out of work early and go over to Home Goods and see what new stuff they got in yesterday.
Casey
Woofens don't want to worry you, but still go steady on that shoulder, they are connected. i have a nerve injury on my shoulder from a double head on, (some pratt went into the side of a lorry then me), also bruising at the base of the skull, and the neck seemed OK but when you think it went flying towards the heavens and the rest of me was being held down i suppose it got stretched a bit. The nerve has a sheath around it, and scarring from healing causes inflammation, which goes from head to toe, and affects blood flow, organs etc. So be careful and aware.
okus, we are about 10 miles from Newark off the A46 to Lincoln, near Swinderby, Great Gonerby is the village near Grantham that takes you to the A1? Around 20 miles, and Boston 50 miles south of here. Well close world hey. genealogy is fun whenyou get into it, I found a personal web site from the area my ancestors came from, and all births, death, marriages listed. I have a compiled list up to 20 years ago or so, but I found 2 or 3 more that hadn't been found, but to try to chase up present day relatives would be a lifetimes work. Your history should make for interesting surprises, all part of the fun, and how many of us KNOW ours for certainty.
kittymom, does this mean free accommodation on holidays?
MaryE, we have a stray cat with a dead eye, he was OK when he first came to us other than he looked like a stick on legs, now you can't see his legs. Don't know what happened, but it went grey and swollen and you could see it was gone, it swelled and cracked and went red, but settled and is now OK. Vets often take them out and stitch the eye together, but his is probably more comfortable, his eyelids open and close together. I couldn't have caught him then anyway, now he is a smooch but lives outside, he never stops wanting food! here he is
Hi All,
Have *skimmed* all the posts. Meant to get in here earlier,,,,,but,,,it just didn't happen.
Casey,
ooooo,,,so sorry to hear about the *new* old problems about the house. It is such a shame that all didn't get worked out earlier. It shouldn't be too hard to get it settled now though,,,just will take a little more time. As long as both the owner of the property and the owner of the house are both willing, which it sounds as though they are, to sell, it'll all work out. Keep a positive attitude! Hope you get a call back from that judge.
Susan,
Maybe you have Sleep Apnea? I know I was tired all the time,,,,didn't have any energy,,,no ambition. Maybe you should think about talking to your Dr. about a sleep study ?,,,,Just a thought.
wal,
Your picture is gorgeous,,,what a beautiful view for you. Also, glad you got that all out of your system,,,LOL
Maria,
Thank-You. I'm glad I did too,,, it's good to be back. Hate when that happens. Bet Samson has tons of fun getting dirty,,,,LOL Glad for you that he doesn't mind having a bath. Mooshka Hates them,,,you'd think we were torturing her while getting her spruced up,,,LOL
sarv,
Think nothing of it,,,,happens to all of us. And there it was,,,,gone.
gram,
Glad you are feeling better today. Don't feel bad about forgetting what you wanted to comment on,,,,I do that All the time,,,LOL I think most of us do.
Ann,
Hope you don't get a full blown cold. Put Vick's on your feet and sleep with socks on,,,,People have been swearing by this for colds. Have fun with the grandtwins today. That Salmon sounds scrumptious as does the rest of your dinner,,,mmmm.
M5,
Hope you get to that chair again,,,,I love to refinish furniture,,,looks so nice when it's done. And your folding chairs,,,yep, that should be at the top of the list,,,LOL
dcat,
Will be thinking of MIL and hoping all goes well.
mag,
Good afternoon, what a bummer not to be able to get into chat.
Elaine,
Wish someone would put a quarter in me today,,,LOL sounds like you got a lot done already. Good for you. I've been hearing mixed comments re the Airborne,,,,glad it worked for you.
Mary,
Amanda Panda,,,how cute! Glad the scuffle ended quickly
Janis,
Good luck with the neck tests,,,glad to hear it's not your arm,,,but sorry to hear it's your neck. Enjoy the wrestling!
okus,
Don't go too hard with the huff and puff and yard work all at once,,,you'll be finding muscles you never knew existed,,,LOL the geneology stuff is so interesting. My Great Aunt has tried but can't go back any further than her Father in law on my Gran's side. He came over from Germany and we don't exactly know where in Germany, they have looked while over there but couldn't find anything. Still find it all very interesting. Have fun with the computer game.
Well, has taken me about an hour or more to comment on all,,,LOL so will get going and Try to get something accomplished today. The Salon is so slow this week,,,,,grrrr. Hate that.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Kelly
Casey, sorry to hear you are having so much trouble with the house. I would think a 'good' lawyer, and there is a rumor that there IS one somewhere, would have a handle on everything and not soak the client. Dealing across the country can't be easy. Holding good thoughts for your success.
Mary, Amanda is a sweetie. Hope her eye heals.
Finally spent a couple hours in the darkroom last night. Sure am rusty, lots of negatives to print tho so it'll all come back. Better get something done, even if it's wrong.lol
wal,
what a sweetie,,,nice and pudgy looking. That's great!
Visited a friend this afternoon, stayed much longer then I entended was very nice to talk to hash over things about our families, talking out
loud ;-) but all of you have been very busy posting, took me a long time to read all of it.
(((((Casey)))) wish I had a magic wand to take all your house problems away, so sorry!!
Defoe, Samson was black with mud, it was 50' today had to wash him, it is better for him to have snow, me too lol Are you calling Amanda Panda by her full name?
Ann, do not forget vitamin 'D' it suppose to be good for us who do not have much sunshine!
Susan I also like the British accent, perhaps this is because we in Europe were taught by British speaking teachers. still spell some words that way.
Salon is busy these holidays, Kelly, every one wants to look beautiful
Well, I have managed to get a lot accomplished today. DH vacuumed this morning, I dusted and put away debris, did 3 loads of laundry, stored some stuff in the attic, made 1 bed, (the other one to be done). Made a pot of chili, arranged to have someone come and repair my tv antennae, and my mothers, took the garbage out, and have checked in here several times.
Mary, glad the kitty/cat confrontation is over, and it seemed mild. The "unnamed little one" is sure pretty.
Sarv, your diet today has been interesting, so now tell us what you are having for dinner.
VAnn, hope it is not a cold that you are getting, but do everything to help ward it off. Don't forget to drink plenty of fluids.
Woofens, glad you can use your arm, but still be careful, until they actually know what is going on. Would hate for you to loose your head, due to a broken neck.!! I don't care for wrestling, but enjoy your outing.
Okus, I laughed, when you said you had to stop to bleed from stuck fingers. I know the feeling, I used to quilt, and I never did want to stain the material.
Kittymom, someone suggested Sleep Apnea, but it could well be any number of things. Why don't you just go have a complete head to foot physical, to be safe.
Wallaby, A pretty cat. It sort of looks like my Miss Boots.
gg. Sorry the business is slow, won't everybody want a "do" for new year's eve? Maybe it will pick up.
Well, I will eat some of the chili tonight for supper, as it is only me. DH is staying in Lexington to be there for the surgery tomorrow. I am going to make that other bed, clean sheets always make me rest better, and then, some reading, maybe some tv, and I plan a good long soak in the tub tonight. Just doing the all by myself routine. I will check in later.
Glad to see you here again Kelly, if many more people stop by for coffee it will be a day long job!
ps....just been looking at how much you paid for THAT hosta......
yes he is sweet, I thought I wouldn't be able to get close once, but he lurv's his strokes now, it is a lead up to his FOOD. I had to get ticks off him, they were on the side of his bad eye, so wondered if they caused it. He is a bit wary if he gets one now, but I keep an eye on him, and I think he knows I am helping him, so he's getting better about it. Only picks up the odd one now, I think he sleeps where there are beds of them, horses across the road. I have always been able to draw cats, even if they NEVER got to anyone, they come to me. I must have been one in a past life!
Susan, meant to mention it before... Kelly is poss right, but could it also be panic attacks from the pressures of having to cope at Xmas? Many people have palpitations from that, and feel like they are dying. Stress management (which means don't do it if you don't feel like it!)
Better to have two or three messages than to have one disappear!
Dcat, we will be thinking of your MIL and her surgery and trust that all will go well.
I'm munching on chocolates that DH's buddy brought me for Christmas, being very selective, eating all the nut clusters first. I'll put them on the counter so I don't get all the calories. Sarv, DH is a sports watcher too, which is why there's a tv in the den with his computer, which allows him to avoid human interaction almost 24/7.They say women use five times more words per day than men do, he must use his all up at work.
Who made that pork tenderloin? I always think I'm going to have leftovers ( I love a cold sliced roast pork sandwich) but by the time I clear the table all that's left are those dried up ends...I should sneak a chunk out of the middle and put it in the back of the 'frig.
Wall, I couldn't get into that site either....said I didn't have permission, but didn't tell me who to ask. I would have just scaled the fence, but ya never know what's waiting on the other side....
Woofens, I hope the MRI and tests result in an accurate diagnosis, so you can get rid of the pain. Geez now I'm wondering if my trip in the garage is what's wrong with my shoulder.........would somebody please come in here and wave a magic wand like Maria said, and rid us of all these cold bugs, and aches and pains. And kill all next summer's weeds too while they're at it. (Might as well wish for the moon if you're gonna wish.)
MaryE, AmandaPanda is just perfect! I imagine by now she's swaggering around like she owns the place. We don't have a name for the new fella yet, waiting for the cat lady to call me back about a visit tomorrow...DD wants to **plan** her day, (I didn't suggest she get up earlier and eliminate the need for so much planning LOL..what a good mommy...snort!!)
Okus, what computer game did you get? I'm always looking for those mystery or puzzle ones and all I find is shoot'em up and space junk. I had one that had twelve different three dimensional puzzles which was fun, but once you've done them a couple times, it gets old. Myst almost drove me crazy (I know Carat, short drive, haha) and I had the Seventh Guest which was fun, but haven't seen anything lately that I felt like spending $40 or $50 on..
9kitty, sleep apnea will prevent you from getting rest, waking up with your heart pounding indicates a shortage of oxygen, and as gg suggested, a sleep study would be a good idea.. There are sleep applliances for sleep apnea, breathing regulators etc.
So, gg, nobody wants to be beautiful for '06? Or are they all going to call you at the last minute tomorrow? Make them beg. LOL
Maria, won't you be glad when Samson can play outside and come in clean and dry? It's good that he doesn't mind his cage. Somebody mentioned a dog, here or on another thread, who waited by the door to be wiped down when he came in. That's a well trained dog! Maybe Samson can learn to do that! Has your daughter resigned herself to tolerating your new companion? I know she wasn't thrilled when you got him.
Oh Carat, thank your lucky stars you have willing sellers, eventually it will all work out and we can only hope that you don't get an ulcer in the meantime. Like Roseanne Rosannadanna said, "It's always something". If people would just do what they are paid to do it would save us all a lot of time and trouble. Can't they all be like the sellers of Daisyruffles (Carol) greenhouse and just do the right thing. On time. Without errors.
Elaine, I imagine you do a better job of cleaning than most of us. We can decide whether to skip a spot or a shelf, I bet you have to do every single step just to make sure it's all done properly. Not that I care a whole lot about what I skip....LOL Love me love my dirt...
I'm sure I've managed to overlook some recent posts, but if I haven't mentioned you it's not because you aren't noticed...I'm just out of gas. Going to stick my nose back into a book, it's over an hour before I have to start thinking about what to make for dinner.... Don't want to rush into a decision..........!
Hope we hear from Molly soon, she doesn't have internet connection yet, but Darius has been posting updates on Molly's thread, which is.....oh, crap I can't remember. Old age is hell.
Oops, previewed, and Maria posted the same time as me, I'm not going to edit, phooey.
Oh rats, I had to edit, I can't stand typos.

That's ok, meezers, I do that quite often, yes Samson stays by the door when I tell him to sit till I get a towel , he is a fast learner, loves to be rubbed down, trying to catch the towel lol
We have loads of ticks here when the weather gets warm, hate them ,one gave me a bulls eye a couple of years ago had to get a shot, guees I was OK. A few years ago ago one crawled up my leg guess where he ended up, disgusting lol
Hey Gobs and 'Ettes!
Our Christmas was nice, everything else went to heck. My "lovely" SIL in Boston took it upon herself to rearrange the dinner plans the 2 local SILs and I made and screwed up Christmas Dinner/Lunch at the MILs rather royally. There is a reason I call her the Boston Baked B****! Anyway...left MILs and rushed home to make Christmas Dinner/Supper here for us and my Dad, and discovered the right side of the kitchen sink wouldn't drain into the garbage disposal, it was draining into the dishwasher instead. It took dh 2 days to get "around to it" and fix the stupid thing. Dinner was nice and then we went out looking at the lights. My dad about drove me nuts since I was driving his blazer, he kept asking me how fast I was going, ect. I got home and took 2 Xanax and went to bed, lol.
Then Nathan started acting up. He has been so bad all week that I called his caseworker and actually requested Respite. I have 4 hours approved for tomorrow. Jenna and I are going to go to the Aquarium. I'm sick of being held hostage by his behavior. Things better change quickly around here or there won't be a 2x6 big enough.
I'm glad everyone had a nice time and nobody needed bail money, ROFL. Welcome to the new faces and places.
Oh boy, sounds like WW3 just started in the kitchen, Be back later, I hope.
mg
Wal, your cat looks a lot like two of our former cats. His eye looks like my kitten's eye, I hope we are treating it in time to save her sight. She does seem to be able to see out of it through the fog. Not sure if she will be addressed as AmandaPanda as time goes on, but right now her name is bigger than she is. The next semi-supervised meeting of the older cat and kitten was tame, older cat had just awakened from a nap, kitten stood still and nobody growled. The first meeting this morning was perhaps livlier because the older cat had just come in from outside. Little things make a big difference sometimes.
Casey, I hope they will find the missing papers soon and get this done. Then you can relax awhile. I know you are wanting to knock a few heads together right now.
Time to go for a walk with the dog. Nice out today, some sun, no wind, not sure how the mud will be once I get down into the pasture. Hope the dog stays fairly clean, I'm glad he has a short coat.
Wow lots going on today...although not at my house!
MaryE ~ Amanda Panda is a perfect name!
Casey~ I'm pulling for you. We were in the middle of nowhere a couple months ago, and I thought of just pulling out of the farm transaction. I can' imagine a transaction where one spouse owned the house and the other owned the land...I mean, how many things can they think of to make it more difficult? Estate settlements are often a pain to endure. But as m5 said, willing sellers will make all the differences. The lawyers have to dot every i, but not on the holidays, or their lunch hours, or while they're dotting someone else's i's...and then the dotted i has to make the rounds of all the other lawyers, one of whom is sure to spot a t that wasn't crossed....but oops, lunch time....It just takes forever. We did sale by owner, no agents, waived everything, bought as is, and even so it took months. Good luck!!
m5~ LOL about the DH avoiding human interaction 24/7!! Been there, done that, do it every day!!
Okus~ I meant to ask but maybe forgot to, do you have another thread for your lampshade projects, in crafts or anything? i'd love to see more and how you do them. I guess it involves pain and suffering and bleeding, huh?
Maria~ Mud is the worst isn't it? Either nice clean snow, or sunny and dry, but wet muddy dogs are no fun
dcat~ prayers for your MIL. Sounds like you got a lot done today. Wish you could email me a little of your energy!!
kitty~ your experience sounds miserable. I was sleepy all day I think because of fog/rain and the end of the Christmas stress. Maybe you're coming down with something? I had spells of heart palpitations during stressful times and swore I was dying!! But they're all gone now thank Goodness. I hope you get it figured out and get relief. Don't be hard on yourself!!
Ann~ it is amazing that you help 24,000 people a year with the food cupboard! that seems like such a huge number, 2000 people a month....
Janis, good luck with your MRI
Okay, I have a headache, need to take a break....
Greetings to everyone else i'm missing here!
This message was edited Dec 29, 2005 5:36 PM
Okay, life is a tiny bit better. I have it from the horse (which end is talking I cant confirm) that ALL of the CORRECT papers have been emailed to all people involved to ensure that everyone is on the same page and has all the papers that are needed. So the signing party (meeting) has been rescheduled for Tuesday the 3rd of January. The judge did call me back and apologized for all the problems and issues and is sure that everything should be in order.
I will have have the keys legally on the 3rd. I already a set of keys in my purse but legally they are surrendering the remaining keys at the meeting.
I think for this weekend I am just going to try and relax, this time without the help of a bottle of wine, not do anything that requires thinking.
To everyone that had important and special events today that I selfishly ignored I am so sorry. My brain was on overload and it just couldn't handle it. Thank you everyone for helping me stay as sane as I was before I started from all this. I really am truly greatful that you all were here to listen.
Julie, I have the files. I downloaded them too. That is as far as I have made it. LOL
Casey
Well, I did find a magic wand, Casey, lol !!!! Very happy things are looking up for you
Uncork the champagne!! Carat has a house!!!! I'm lifting my glass now!! slurp...slurp...
I have done diddaly squat today and man did it feel good!! Worked on my yearly budget and revamped things and I think we will be able to survive another year with going to the poor house LOL That is if I don't over do it on plants!!
Neighbor cut down two trees that were dead. They are on our lot, but he took them down as he had a clean falling area and ours is full of plants and more trees. I am thankful he did it, but DH is ticked. It must be a man thing. DH went out and watched him - I kept giving him the 'eye' that meant - help him, but DH doesn't catch on easily. Maybe I need the 2x4.... We have two more further in our lot, but in my shade beds that need to come down. Hopefully DH will do it as soon as the ground freezes. I don't think the neighbor hurt many of my plants - only unearthed a couple of bulbs and they were easily shoved back in the ground.
My shoulder is still giving me fits today and I haven't lifted a finger. I don't know what's up with it!! I guess I need to double up on my glucos/chron stuff for awhile.
I have a cat with a cloudy eye too (isn't it a coincidence!!) I took her to the vet and treated it with meds, but nothing helped. Vet wanted me to go to a kitty opthomologist to the tune of at least $500 bucks for starters. DH put his foot down and said no.. Aspen (cat's name) doesn't seem to mind. She is happy and lovey and a good hunter- just looks strange!
Maria, I'm still trying to think where that tick ended up!! LOL
Howdy, everyone! We have Internet service as of this afternoon!!!
Be back later in hopes to catch up but doubt I can with so many missed threads.
Hooray darius!!
Hey Darius- welcome back!!! When you have time, come back and tell us all about your adventures. Give Molly a hug for all of us!!
YEAH, we missed both you and Molly.
Thanks Sarv, I have a huge headache, and need a vacation but all things look perfect, but I am not opening that bottle of champagne until Tuesday after the meeting.
Kitty opthomologist???? I just picture a man trying glasses on a cat. 500.00 wouldn't happen here either with my DH.
Casey
Hi All,
Long time, no see. :^)))))
We are up and running now. Power was put in on 12/22 and today they finally officially turned on the DSL. Had some problems with the modem they sent me. We couldn't do a sharing on the line, so I called Bell South and told them I wanted to use my old Network equipment. They helped me get through the setup, Jeremy strung the wires under the house, and Darius is in her room catching up on forever and I am in my room doing the same.
I really feel out of touch. Until we got power (heat), our days revolved around the plan for staying warm each night.
Now we are starting to organize the yard/garden configuration, driveway and we set 3 posts today for building the pump house. I decided to cheat just a little by making it bigger to store some tools in. Until we get it housed, we have to watch the temps, cover the unit with blankets, so the tank and pipes don't freeze. When they forecast the temps in Gainesville to be 38, we expect it to be at least 5 degrees colder here at the house.
The day the power company came to put the poles in, it was 25 degrees in the morning. I was so excited to see them, I almost wet myself.
Despite the cold nights, the days are remarkably nice. It might get up to 60 or a bit higher. With the sun shining, clear blue skies and a little work outside to make some body heat, it's quite nice.
Unfortunately, I haven't the brain power nor the attention span capability to catch up on so much that I have missed here. I have missed you all and will do better from now on.
I will say, Casey, I feel for you on your problems in getting your new house. No matter what the circumstances, it's all a pain in the Neck, isn't it?
Molly
:^)))
Oh yes, I forgot, that's ice on the windshield of my car, Dec 22.
Molly
:^)))

See Ya Later,
Kelly
Should have hit preview,,,,,
Don't think we've met Molly but have heard lots about your lack of civilized living,,,,glad to hear you all have some of the necessities back.
Kelly
Molly, I am so happy that you are finally getting things to a steady calm and you can start to relax a bit.
DD said to tell you nice car and it needs a blanky on cold nights.
I have to agree that although I know its not life threatening and I will make it through all of this my headache just seems to stay at a steady roar. Your problems were alot worse then mine and I kept reminding myself of that with every turn.
Casey
Molly get the cover on that car!!! Right now!! If DH saw that he'd probably drive down there and do it for you. (not showing it to him) Things are really going to start happening now for you, electric, internet, heat, Darius cooking, LOL so happy for you. And for Carat, the judge called her with good news! Those make this a real happy day for us!
Sheila
Just droping in to say hi. Had a busy day today and havn't been home much. DH had an endocrinologist appt. this morning and then we went to a few stores looking for a new rug. Why is it my eye always catches the most expensive ones they have? We didn't find one yet.
You have all been busy today as well. Took me a while to catch up with the reading.
Casey - glad things are going better for your house.
Darius & Molly - good to hear from you guys! Can't wait for more updates.
MaryE - Here is a picture of my B&W kitty. I call her Mandy MooMoo.
suzieq that is a very cute kitty.
suzie,
That's just how things go,,,that's why I Hate to go shopping for anything,,,I Always pick out the most expensive stuff,,,then have to work my way down from there,,,,LOL Hope things went well at the Dr.s
Awwwww,,,,,,Miss Mandy MooMoo is such a beauty.

Suzie I suffer from that to with everything I shop for. I can go into clothing store and point out the most expensive item in the store first thing.
Love the sprinkle of white on Mandy MooMoo's back.
Well, just got the kitchen cleaned up. didn't have to cook tonight. the DH cooked steaks and sweet potato fries. All I had to do was make a salad ... except for the cleaning up LOL
Molly and Darius, so glad to see you both back. Great to hear life is treating you better now. Don't know how you got along without your internet service. I'd surely be having major withdrawals by now. Know that was the least of your worries, though.
Kelly, sorry business was bad today. Maybe things will pick up after the New Year.
Carol, those lamp shades sure sound pretty. It must take a *lot* of patience to do that.
Defoe, am saying special prayers for y'all tonight. Please keep us updated.
Woofens, sure hope your neck and shoulder pain can be treated. Will be thinking about you when you have your MRI.
Maria, got a giggle out of your tick story. LOL
Mary, I like the name of your kitty. Am glad the two seem to be getting along now.
Meezres, can't wait for you to get your new little guy.
Well, I know I've missed some, but it's hard to keep up now that we've added more chairs to the table. LOL Will try to check in before I turn in.
... elaine
Elaine,

Love Mandy Moo Moo! Would love to have a cat again. I'm jealous. But DH says "No more cats!". So I'll have to love those that belong to neighbours, I guess.
Think I'll sign off Internet for the evening as I have a few other things to do.
Have a good night everyone.
Ann
Carat, it sounds like you got caught up in some of SC's historical issues. There were few deeds issued after the "Late Unpleasantness" (aka the Civil War). These lands have simply been handed down for generations without any legal documentation. In order to protect legal heirs who may or may not be living there, the Heirs Law was passed which essentially requires a bit more research into the who actually owns the properties.
It must have been very difficult and frustrating for you but once you live here and understand the issues you will see it is actually a good law which protects those who often don't even know their property is being sold out from under them.
The i's will be dotted and the t's will be crossed. It is just a matter of time until you are a true Sandlapper too. Welcome to SC; our people (and the temperatures) are the warmest in the country.
Thank you so much for the warm welcome ardesia, and yes I have been smack in the middle of historical land issues for almost 3 months. I guess I should consider myself lucky that all the current owners are involved and there is no question as to who the actual heirs are, just to what they are the heirs of.
The warm hearted people I have met, the weather I am sure is close to what I am use to if you consider the humidity.

I probably ought to refresh this screen since it's taken me 45 minutes to read from my last post. LOL Oh well...I guess I'll know soon enough that there were a dozen new posts added while I dallied.
:-D
I'm not going to respond to everything I read. The only exception is
CASEY!!! TG the house is making headway toward the signing party!!! When I read what had happened to you, my heart sank. It's one of those "Been there, done that...and REALLY HATED the experience" kinda things. I'm just glad things are going in the right direction. (Thanks for letting me know you got the files...and *now* I understand what probably prompted those 'color change' problems. hehehe)
DARIUS & MOLLY!!!! OH WOW!!! After all this time we have you back with us! I couldn't be happier to hear you're back online and things are beginning to take on a vague appearance of normal-see (Nothing looked right...LOL...so I typed it that way.)
I was going to tell you what's happening here...but I can't do it. I tried.
I'll get tomorrow's thread posted...and be back later with the link.
~julie~
P.S. I was lucky...I pressed "Send" and the DH system lost all contact with my ISP... :-(...but I DID copy the post as soon as I saw it was taking WAY to long to send. So I've pasted my post above and now will (hopefully) send it.
Suzie, lovely pussy, i can just imagine you going out at night calling 'Mandy MooMoo', do your neighbours know?
CARAT, so pleased, we'll be watching for the updates, but you prob. won't have the time!
Kelly, I'm sure once everyone has sweated off their Xmas they will be wanting to look good again, just don't get yourself into a knot.
ViolaAnn, you sound diappointed, everyone should be allowed to have a pussy. Your husband had better watch himself, he may get substituted with one!
Maria, ouch! you must have been horrified, they have the most awful set of pincers, and that great big stomach of a body, ugh!
ardesia, please tell me about your temperatures, and an island too!
sarv, I am sure all men came from the same mould, but what if the tables turned, and your husband cut down trees for your neighbour? He'd probably do it with pleasure, and your neighbour would look on!
NIght all, gone 3.30 here, zzzzzzzzzzzzz
