Coffee and... For Christmas Day, 2005

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

Well ours was a late Christmas. We visited with DH's cousin, and had a very good dinner and conversation. Opened gifts there, got Estee Lauder perfume. My favorite, DH got a Tommy Hilfiger sweater which looks great on him. Then home and rested until about 5:30 when I went to pick up DGD. I didn't specifically tell you all, but this is so neat. There is a town in this county whose name is Bethlehem. (a really small town) which stages a live nativity scene, with animals and all for 3 nights. It begins on the 23, and runs through tonight. Volunteers from across the county take shifts standing in the scene. They have 3 45 minute programs, each night, with carols and a narrative of Jesus' birth. There are 3 angels, 3 shepherds, 4 wise men, Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus. It is a very rustic set, and people come, and just stand and listen to the program. I have been in it before, but they didn't need any angels tonight!! So DH and DS took the 7:00 shift, and since DS's girlfriend and DGD had never seen it I took them while DH and DS were participating. It was a nasty night, with rain turning to snow, and very cold. But it is so peaceful, and the times I have participated, it provides the perfect opportunity to slow down, and just reflect on the past year, and what blessings that we all have, if we take the time to count them. I wish you all could just see it, it is so lovely. Well, after that come home and had snack foods, and opened presents here. DH gave me a nice bath robe, sweater and pants, and a ring. I am a jewelry nut. DS gave me gloves, and an album of pictures, which I just love. DGD gave me a bracelet. I surprised DH with a new hitch for his truck. He tows horse trailers, boats and utility trailers, which all takes different sizes of ball hitches. This one has 2 different sizes on it, and is easy to change. So he was really surprised and glad that I bought it for him. He says now that he needs a new truck to go with it. LOL. I told him it was on order. As I said before, DGD got so much at the other grandparents and at home, but she received several items of clothes from DH and me, A CD, and some toys. DGD is in bed, DH is watching tv, and I am at home at Davesgarden.

To all of you who have had wonderful Christmases, I am glad. To those who have fighting relatives, I am so sorry that they couldn't wait until tomorrow to do it. Darius, glad that you made nice and visited with DS, and already planning your escape.

To Okus, Kooger and Dave. Happy Birthday, today, tomorrow. The black get up just slays me. It really isn't that bad, but the maintenance just accelerates|!!

Merry Christmas to Julie, Sarv, Meezer, 101, susieq, Kooker, Okus, Ernie, Balvanie, KidneyGuy, Maria, kittymom, dmc, leaflady, Gardengeek, ViolaAnn, Daisyruffles, Darius, Molly, Pebble, Woofens, Happy, Hostandquilts, nice to meet you, and if I missed anyone, it is not because I am ignoring you, it is because it has been a long day, and I am ready to start remembering this day as a good one.

Sleep well, warm and long.

Goodnight.

Hi All,
I'm sooooo stuffed I can hardly move!!!!!!! Every year I say I am not going to do that and every year I do it. I have now come up with a foolproof plan for all Holiday's in the future. I will have the mother of the smallest child make my plate like she would for her child,,,,pretty good huh,,,,yep, always thinkin'!!!!!

Had a Great time with my family. Both of my cousin's were home and the one that's married, his wife, whom I just adore, and their 2 girls (11 & 8) were there. Thier Uncle, my other cousin, gave each of the girls a box wrapped up and inside each box there was a $100 bill. My Gran does that for each of us Adults but she uses one of those mini stockings for each,,,we give them back to her right away, so she has them for the next year. Well, tonight when the girls opened their boxes and each saw that money, their eye lit right up,,,,I showed them one of Gran's stockings and told them that if the give Uncle Bubba (Paul) that box back, maybe they'll get that same gift next year,,,LOL It didn't take them long to understand,,, and he had those boxes back in a jiffy. I started teasing them that I needed one of those boxes to give to My Uncle,,,,their Grandfather,,,so that I would get that present from my Uncle, like they did from theirs,,,LOL,,,needless to say there was No Way they were letting me have a box. We had so much fun with that,,,,LOL

Ann,
Oh, I Hope and Pray that your DD's MIL will be out of there soon. Will also pray for strength for your DD & SIL,,,sounds like they will need it. Can't the MIL stay in a motel for a couple of months?

DR,

And Yes, men can surprise you sometimes,,,I *Knew* he would end up playing Santa for Sawyer,,,,,she's 2 1/2 and when Uncle Bill's around she just clings to him,,,,follows him everywhere. Even tells her Mom, I go see Unca Biw,,,,LOL

dcat,
Must have posted at the same time. The live Nativity sounds Spectaular. We have folks that do that in our town, but not for 3 days. Have never gone to see it. Was hoping to this year, but they didn't do it this year. Yours sounds awesome. Glad all enjoyed it. Also sounds like you had a Great Christmas.

I wrote Admin but don't know if they will get it fixed before I leave to go back to Molly's today.

I did talk with Molly last night and her DSL is not up and runing yet so I don't know when I'll get back online.
