Coffee and...For Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005

Darius, are you stopping in GA? :)

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Hi Marcia, its good to see you again. I hope life settles down to normal for you again. Seeing out your new window is a great thing. You'll see some new faces in the koffee klatch and of course lots of scruptious goodies to go with the coffee.

Leaflady, welcome. It's nice to see you here. One of the shrubs you sent me a last year has some small blooms on it. It is growing in a greenhouse pot because I didn't decide where to put it soon enough to plant it outside. So, now it thinks it is spring and is blooming, small compact white blossoms, has very small leaves and I lost track of what it is. You also sent me spice bush and a Rose of Sharon, but what is this one?

Ernie, we have missed you too. Ugh, computer problems. The pancake breakfast sure sounds good. Strawberries, yum! That does look like an out of control tree that now has become a big weed unfortunately.

Yep, Darius, you can do this. Are you driving directly to Molly's new place or somewhere else first?

Our weather seems to be warming somewhat, the forecast is for about 12 overnight instead of about 0, and snow showers tomorrow. Warmer high temps too, but still not above freezing.

Gotta clean up the kitchen. Laundry isn't the only thing that multiplies.

Elaine (and others)... I know my driving route, just not the timing. For example, IF my movers don't get everything loaded and moved to storage before 5 pm monday, I will have to stay overnight here to get the tow trailer and my truck loaded Tuesday morning.

IF they get it all packed & moved and I can get the trailer and my truck loaded before 5 pm Monday I may be lucky to drive across the mountain to Franklin (30 miles) before dark, and I don't drive well after dark. Heck, I may have to get a room here in town if they are slow!

It is 550 miles to Molly's, driving a U-Haul with a recommended speed of 45 mph so I know I will have to stop somewhere, probably in Georgia, for a second night. But,where all depends on how quickly (or slowly) things go Monday.

I've been wrapping all my framed art work tonight in bubble wrap, just have 3 more large ones to go, plus a gob of small family pictures. Tomorrow is the rest of the kitchen and then I'm almost done.... Thankfully, I got laundry done at Bud's this afternoon) along wth a good Bloody Mary!)

I'm having real problems getting on the DG site tonight...figured I'd best try to get the new Daily up...

Tomorrow's DAILY is UP in the Parking Lot!

Well, we went to visitation for BIL's mother. Drove 3 hours, stayed 2 and drove 3 hours home. Can anyone say FLAT BUTT? It was so funny at the funeral home, I don't mean about Mrs. Nickell's death, but I am a twin, and since we live so far apart, most people where she lives have not seen me. I got cornered several times, and people offered their condolences to me. It is sort of hard explaining, "I'm not who you think I am".

We got home about 8:30, and DGD and I worked some more on the craft projects, and wrapped Christmas presents. She says I am so far behind that she just had to help me do it.

Welcome Leaflady, I usually am not as busy as I have been the past couple of days. Help yourself to the cyber goodies on the counter, tell us about yourself, and feel free to relate your daily happenings. We can cheer, jeer, and cry. If you need the official DG 2x4 for wayward family members, just holler, and it is sent cybermail, and arrives instantly.

Maria didn't have time to comment this morning, but your pictures were stunning. I wish I could be there to watch Samson playing in the snow.

I see several people have been battleing the laundry monster. I think he justs moves from house to house, and is immune to any attempts to elimination of any kind. More prolific breeder than rabbits!!

Darius, you sound like you are one tired lady. Glad you got to visit with Bud and have his special Bloody Mary. Remember I made that Bloody Mary mix this past summer and we were going to try it at the Ky. RU. I have tried it (without the clear liquid that sometimes accompanies it) , and it sure is tasty. Sort of like a more spicy V-8. Really Delicious.

Bal, sorry about your computer problems. We thought that you had gotten scared away with all the chatter. Or your new girl was consuming all your time. BTW how is Immy? Been into any more mischief lately?

I think I posted in another forum about a Christmas present I bought for a neice. She is a cat lover, and in our part of the country they are making and selling real looking stuffed cats. The one I bought is curled up sleeping. When I brought it home the other day, I just dumped all the shopping bags on a bed in a spare bedroom. Well a little later, heard Mr. B just barking frantically. Went to investigate, and he was up on the bed, having removed that cat from the shopping bag, and was standing over it just barking like crazy. I let him have a good look and sniff, then put it back in the bag. Later, the same thing happens. This time I put it in the linen closet, and he stands and barks at that door. So I had to move it to the trunk of my car which is in the garage. I hope he doesn't spend all his time in the garage trying to get at that cat, until christmas.

Meezer, that jam looks wonderful. I made 5 jars of strawberry preserves this past week. Don't remember what day, it is still setting on the counter. I freeze all my berries when they are in season, and make the jams, jellys, and preserves as I need them.

101 those blackberry pies sound great. We make a dried apple pie sort of like that, and are they good. Do you put up a live Christmas tree? I thought it was very nice to help out neighbor spending his money. I can do that real well!!

BetsyBug, glad the window problems are fixed. We are thinking about putting in new windows, and are just exploring the immense array of choices. It used to be just one kind, the only difference was the size.

Susieq, Viola Ann, Happy, DR, GardenGeek, Ernie, Sarv, and any others I may have missed good late day to you. Please know that I think of all of you, but cannot comment to all.

All of you wish/pray that my week ahead will be a slower paced one than this one has been. Since my family is celebrating Christmas next Sunday, I know that I will spend at least 2 days at DM's helping to get everything ready. No I will spend time getting it ready and she will just be there. Bless her heart, she has been so confused the past couple of days. I know that this gathering is the cause of it. She wants everything to be ready and of course nice. So maybe once it is over she can get back to her normal routine.

Well to all a good night. Wish everyone a restful sleep, and rest.

Defoecat (Bonnie) That is TOO funny about your dog and the stuffed cat! LOL... and yes, I remeber we were to have Bloody Mary's (or even Bloody Shame's) at the KRYU with Molly, which never happened. Life got in the way. Save that recipe for next year!
