Hello again everyone. It was busy, it was fun and we all ate too much but never ran out of food. We had 6 guests who stayed from Wednesday night until Sunday noon, and had 11 for dinner Thursday and Friday nights, 8 of us last night and for breakfast this morning.

There's just the 2 of us again, it didn't take my hubby long to get himself into the recliner and snore in accompanyment to the football game while I went outside to spread some big piles of dirt. I got the guys to cut some logs to size and get them into place around my latest flower bed project which is about 17x12 ft. I had spread cardboard boxes on it and hauled several bucket loads of soil with the tractor front end loader, so all I was waiting for was sides so I could get the soil spread out before it froze solid. The surface had a good crust on it but I broke that up and was able to get it more or less level. I'll have to take a picture now and post it along with the one I took earlier. The windmill needs a base to help anchor it, and it goes in the corner, then I can finish leveling the soil and be ready to plant flowers there in the spring.

This evening I tried to catch up with reading everything here from the last few days. You all know how that goes, I think you post as fast as I read. After so many late nights and early mornings I'm tired so will go to bed early. See you tomorrow.

Holy Cow Mary. And you are living and breathing after all that entertaining? Did you entice those guys to help with the flower bed in exchange for the food and hospitality? I will need to plan a Christmas celebration like that. LOL

Maria, will you be sending the actual ticket or will it be an e-ticket? I surely don't want to miss that demonstration. Told my twin about it tonight and she just hooted. She said her male Yorkie, Samson, also, is 8 months and is still squating to do his business, and if she has to demonstrate for him to learn, he will just have to squat the rest of his life!!! BIL came by this past summer, and commented that his dog, a rat terrier is still squating, and was telling me that Mr. B, would have to be a year old or older before he hiked the leg, as he said that, noticed that Mr. B. was watering one of the trees, and said Aw forget that, and turned to his dog, and asks "what wrong with you?" Maybe we can make this a round up, and everybody bring food and plants to trade!!

Darius, looks like the packing is coming along nicely. I would have a hard enough time just moving, but you are having to sort also.

Robert, so you routed that piece, and now will get down to the actual whittling/caring? Did I understand that right?

Eweed, I don't want to be sick or incapicated, but wish DH would understand and appreciate what all goes into maintaining a house. He seems to think that meals appear magically, clean clothes are in his drawer, no thought about what it took to get them there, and floors are clean. Do I look like a magician? How the heck does he think all this gets done? Sometimes I think "walking a mile in someones shoes" teaches a lot about the effort undertaken. I didn't say that you had to do this forever, and will willingingly relinquish the reins when Linda is healed, but it sure has been an eye opener eh? Can you talk to my DH, his name is Wayne, and he resides under this screen name!! LOL.

Sarv, do you think Capital Murder is in store for the DIL, and DS? I would have been livid if I had planned a party and DH declined to go. Just think of all the planning and executing (pun not intended) that went into this. Keep us posted with the facts as you are privy to them.

Meezer, I have almost an identical story as yours. DH drank for the first 25 years of our marriage. Many thoughts of leaving, but always stayed for the son. Had rented an apartment, and had made plans to move on a Saturday, but DH was critically injured on a Wednesday. He was in intensive care for 8 weeks, and recouperated about 1 year. Stood by him through this, but the amazing fact, this woke him up, and has never had a drink since then. July 1990. Everybody else always said what a kind, caring person he was, but then they didn't live with him 24/7. We all have our faults, but again, Walk a mile in my shoes. Staying might not have been the best option, as DS and DH are just now beginning to forge a relationship that has been delayed for way too long. They both are working at it, and I think that it will eventually come together.

McCool, how is DH? Sure hope that this passes quickly, and he is on the mend.

Darius, and Sarv? I like the idea of Cake Day and Soup Day. I just might try it this year, instead of trying to entertain until I drop. I have neighbors, friends and family that I cannot possibly have during the season. Maybe one of these after the holidays would be the ticket.

Well, I have jabbered enough, (too much?), so it is off to bed for me. Think positive thoughts, No barking dogs, and no aching arm, as I have nothing on the calendar for tomorrow, and would like to start it off by sleeping in.

Good night All.

(Zone 8b)

Hi Y'all,
Hope everyone had a great week- end. We spent the last two days dressing the house for Christmas. Outside looks great and I love the tre but I need to do lots more inside yet.
Today was DS birthday so its been an all go few days. I noticed several other GOBs who have kids birthdays around Thanksgivig too.
Sorry to hear that one of us, can't remember who has had food poisoning. Not at all nice.
Everyone else I hope is as well as can be expected. I have read all but am not good at remembering on ordinary days, never mind when catching up over a hectic long week- end!!
Babs well done on working the holiday and feeding the emergency folk. Its easy to forget the backroom boys and girls until you really need them, but then they would really be missed if they weren't there.
Carat whatever is getting on your wick, this is the place to unload and share. Its what coffee and is all about - sharing the joys and sorrows of everyday life.
Packing looks as though its under control Darius. I suspect you will be reieved when the move is done. Fingers crossed for the med tests coming up.
Robert - all I can say is WOW! That is awesome carving!
Maria, Golden boys are often slow in the three legged department, just as they are in growing up in other parts of the brain too. It wouldn't be unusual for him to be nearly two before the penny dropped, or rather lifted!!
For those I missed I didn't really (((hugs))) to you all.

Defoe, am laughing my head off, what you said was just too funny for words and Okus too I really do not care how long it will take Samson to realize he is is a male, I still think Ernie should fly here to show Samson how it is done, LOL because I most certainly will not since I would not know how to, lol. As a matter of fact when the woman brought the dog he did is business as he got out of the car, I said o her, I thought you said he was a male lol, she said well, he is but is only a Pup, I learn something every day!
