I'm just interested to know what others are wishing Santa would leave under their trees.
what do you want from Christmas?
oh ok
a new digital camera!
of course I want all family and friends healthy and happy but santa could bring the camera that would be nice!!!
what do you want??
Mags
Help to get my house organized... in the form of a professional organizer!
I have too much stuff and three teenagers, so I'm thinking more of what I wish Santa would take away than what he'd leave....LOL
welllll now Janie you have come to the right person then I can do that!!! have done it for many people!!!!!!
I am the ORGANIZER and CLEANER!!!!!
how funny I was the one to ask
Mags
Yeah, Janiejoy, that's what I need, and my head organized too!
magoobu
how far do you travel -and-
Have you ever had to turn someone down because they're hopeless?
no one is more hopeless then both my DSIL's they are the worst packrats-- both wonderful but not an organized bone in their bodies LOL
Never turned anyone down (YET)
I can travel but may have to bring the 5 year old along LOL
I love doing this stuff OCD here have'nt you heard???
Mags
Yes I was just looking at your beautiful table photos and thinking I'd love to chime in if I had anything to photo! I joke about dusting the cobwebs with glitter tfor Christmas!! They work for Halloween too, just don't know why cobwebs aren't in for Thanksgiving!!
ROTF
ROTFLOL
ROTFLMAO
Glitter on the cobwebs...what a good idea. And why buy the can of fake snow to write "merry Christmas" when you can just write it in the dust? We're cookin' here!!
But back to the question at hand, what I'd like for Christmas are not 'things'. It would be a job for one of my loved ones, a return to the family for another, more energy to keep this house clean, maybe a vacation to a sunny warm climate in the coldest part of winter. Ah, and just one tangible gift.....a kitten.
I would like to sneak a little kitten over to Naps house!

Something tall dark and handsome - in nothing but a very large bow??? (And no beer belly flopping over now, ya hear!)
But I'll "settle" for continued good health and gainful employment! All else is "fluff"!
Blessings to all of you at this joyful time of year. Anyone else looking out at a winter wonderland?
PS - It's not exactly kitten season, but I'll bet you could take a ride to your local shelter and find lots to make your heart melt! Mmmm, do I need another kitty??? LOL - now look what you've done! Bad nap!
How far is Carmel from Lyndonville? Debbie, Sequee wants a kitty too!
The best cat I have EVER had came from the ASPCA. It wouldn't be fair to
Dooley right now, but maybe someday...
Nap, I understand. Tell me when your ready. I can have a kitten anytime pretty much! My sons friend has been trying to give us a couple the last two weeks, and the barn my SIL works at has several cats, one of which is very pregnant and due around Christmas!
Carmel is 6 1/2 hours from me too! WAY to the South East of us.
DH asked me today what I wanted for Christmas. I've thought of things all year long, like a new smaller digital camera, and a new printer, and a few other things. But, what I really want more than anything is phone jacks for the internet phone line in the dining room and den. I'm tired of being stuck in the office alone while everyone else is out with each other. I guess I could give up my computer time, but I'd rather not. :) If we could get some connection other than dial up here, that would be first on my list, but we can't, so more phone jacks it is.
That's a bummer, Joan. I have a bundle here, through SusCom - It's so fast and convenient - telephone, cable and broadband computer access - all unlimited. I love it!
All of my pets are rescues - 3 cats and a dog at the moment, but that goes way up during kitten season (I foster). At one point I have 21 kitties - and all of them were on meds.! I was late for work every day during the 10-day antibiotic treatment. Thank heavens my boss is a pet person.
6 and 1/2 hours isn't that bad - HA! Seems like there's getting to be alot of you up in northern NY. We may have to see about doing a round-up one of these days. It sure would be fun to meet everyone!
Well, it's time for me to hit the sack! Hope you all had a wonderful day!
Magoo, I had to laugh when you said your DSIL was a packrat. My husband and I bought our current home from my father in law. When moving him out and moving us in we ran across some pretty odd things. A couple of large coffee cans of used twisty ties. Another with keys from every house, car and lock he had to set eyes on in his life. Phone books from other cities and states that he lived in and they had lived here since 1960. 8 track tapes but no player. Oh and my all time favorite, is a 5 gallon bucket filled to the brim with used popcicle sticks.
I really had to think of what I want for Christmas. I can't think of anything I need, I have all that I really want, so I think I will hope for calmness in my life for the coming year. I believe that is what I need and want the most.
Magoo, I cant imagine a house that I would have to run from. Every house I have cleaned and organized for someone has been in really bad shape, and the worse it was the more I needed to do it...
It's so nice to read that all anyone wants for Christmas is sort of peace, organization and maybe a digital camera. It's so - not greedy! It's really uplifting.
I want for my family to be healthy and happy this new year more than anything. I want my baby brother to straighten up his life and start being a blessing to- instead of a burden on- his parents.
Now for selfish things...........
I want a DIGITAL CAMERA, Santa!! I believe I may be the ONLY one here at DG who doesn't have one- LOL!!
dmcd, if you get someone to take away the teenagers and all their stuff, you won't need to get organized, there won't be anything left. And then you will rattle around like a pea in a bucket, and wish they and all their stuff were back. LOL
I want for Christmas. ..... Our troops home safe. Food for the hungry. Homes for the hurricane victims. Safe havens for all the lost or missing pets. OK, maybe a box of Godivas.
If I can have anything in the world, I'd love to relive Wednesday and have the day end differently.
If I can be selfish, I'd love to find a big sold sign on my old house and professional greenhouse sitting at the new house. :)
If I can be unrealistic, I'd love to have the crew from Extreme Makeover come turn my new house into something larger, nicer and more efficient for my family.
To be completely honest, I'll be happy to have a normal Christmas with no tragedies, no illness, a modest gift opening and a good meal with my family. I'd love to hear no bad news for one single day.
Michele,
I have no clue what happened Weds, but i'm sorry it happened to you. You are a such a joy!!
My greed would have to kick in and i want/need a pair of Carhartt lined artic bib overalls, a matching jacket, and i would love to accessories with matching scarf, ear muffs, working gloves and a shade of lipstick to make it fashionable, lol.
From my heart? I'd like for the rest of my family, especially my son, to leave MS and get out of the devastation and poor air quality.
Ok, if we're having Santa take away something, I want him to take away these kidney stones. I passed another one last night and an even bigger one this a.m. The doc told me Mon that I have a few more to pass before I'm done. And I'm not liking this one bit. So Santa, please take these stones...
And in their place, could you leave me George Clooney? I'd be eternally grateful!
BC
BC- ROTFLOL!! We need another thread for what Santa should take away!!
Although i've heard kidney stones are agonizing, so I'm certainly not laughing about that, it's the way you said it.
MSJen I don't thing carhartts for a newbie to the north country is greedy at all!! Even Santa bundles up!!
Chele I saw the thread about your dog - what a horrible tragedy for all of you, especially kids. I'm so sorry! Prayers for all of you, and everyone else who is coping with loss right now. There's not much you can buy to fill those kinds of holes in your heart.

Well, it wasn't on my list, but I guess we got our Christmas a few days ago. About two weeks ago two of our computers crashed, so the new one is our unexpected Christmas to each other. So far dh has been able to recover the data from the main one that went down, the second one was mostly back up for the other two, so not a major loss of data. The laptop, thank goodness, didn't go down. The new one is taking a bit of getting used to, but its a nice little toy! I may wrap the box in pretty paper and put it under the tree! Other than that, the want list is pretty short and the need list is zero, so we hope for health and happiness, not only for ourselves and family, but also for all our friends.
ginni
I saw a cool cold frame that I want at Farm tek. It was only $69 in their catalog. So maybe that would be something nice. I got my husband a Columbo dvd set. I just got him a Hitchcock dvd set also. He likes to watch movies and I like to be outdoors, so it works out we don't fight over the tv at all.LOL
We do our shopping over the internet to avoid the crazy traffic. Our city has decided to widen the streets right by the major malls, so everything is twice as bad.
I like the restore feature the computers have now. If you screw something up you can restore it to a prior date and it is usually fixed that way. I recently screwed up something on my husbands computer and this was a lifesaver. Of course I did't tell him. LOL
Ouch, George Clooney in the kidneys would really HURT a LOT. lol
I just want this world to quit fighting over everything. That would be my favorite Christmas present ever.
For material things I NEED a better pickup for hauling feed and sheep and such in and for towning our stock trailer and flatbed trailer so I can continue to earn extra money hauling things for people.
Chele I am sooooo sorry about your dog. HUGSSSSSSSSS for all of you!
Lani
Chele I am sorry so very sorry to hear about your baby!!! I have been out from here with the holiday and guests and am torn up to come back to hear such sad news!!! Yes good she did not suffer but I have been there --- How and what kind of person can just keep going is beyond me!!!
(((Chele))))))
I am so sorry!!!
this brings new meaning to what I want for Christmas---- forget the camera --- let's have some easier times for those who need it!!!!
Mags
Well there is the song all I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth so why can't have one that goes all I want for Christmas is one straight back.
Now as far as material things go I am an electronic gadget junky so maybe Santa could bring me a Radio Shack store.
In reality we have no major needs and I am truly thankful for what God has given us.
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas!!! Only a hippopotamus will do!!! ROFLOL!!!!
But seriously, I would love something green and blooming!! A bromeliad, orchid, or hibiscus!!!
I just wish I could blink my eyes, twitch my nose, or pop my ponytail and everything in my yard was cleaned up, weeded, mulched and my yard was colorful!!! I am so tired of seeing brown, dead plants. Also, I am having DT's from not being able to go to a nursery. None of them are open still, and I am an admitted nurseryaholic!!
**SIGH** One day................
It WILL be normal again!!
Janet
Janet, what does normal mean?
Well, I hope I won't bore y'all ... but I found the most fantastic thing about a year ago and I've been dreaming about it ever since. Of course, I don't mention it to the DH as it's one of those things you dream of owning, but can live without. Just so you can understand ... I'm going to put it down. It might help someone else, and a lot of people don't know these products are available. Some of you know that I use a talking computer and have a scanner that allows me to read most printed material. There are so many wonderful things out there. It's really amazing. I just wish they'd get the prices down a bit. *sigh* Anyway, take a look at this, will ya! It's remarkable!
SCANACAN FOR WINDOWS DELUXE: Are you tired of opening the wrong
can? Are you embarrassed to find out that you put on a green shirt when you wanted a blue shirt? Are you frustrated when you
can't find the disk or CD or movie you were looking for? Those
days are over now, with the new SCANACAN Technology at your
finger tips. The days of endless waiting for sighted assistance
with product identification are now over. With the SCANACAN
technology you can have it all. SCANACAN For Windows, is the only speech-friendly, simple, powerful, affordable barcode scanning system, and independent living aid, and home management system
you will ever need. Since just about everything you purchase has
a bar code on it, there is no need for labeling grocery items any
more, and no excuse for not cataloging all your items that are
already barcoded. Now, with the excellent quality commercial Omni Directional Laser Wedge bar code scanner, you can easily identify anything with a bar code on it. SCANACAN For Windows allows you to identify groceries, and anything with a bar code just by passing it in front of the lens of the scanner. If the item you
scanned or entered is not in the Grocery database, of 84000
items, or the Hardware Database of 62,000 Hardware related items, or the Schwans Database with all their cooking instructions, you can add it to the database with just a few key strokes. You can
create as many databases as your hard drive will hold. Each
database holds up to 2 billion records in it. With the simple
one-letter alt commands, you can quickly and easily enter the
data needed to make your grocery shopping much easier. You can
purchase clothing bar code labels and create a clothing database
with the description, including the color, and manufacturer of
your clothes. SCANACAN For Windows is a must for every visually
impaired person. ** Add Record: Lets you add a record with a description, price, quantity on hand, and instructions of up to 600 characters, about any given item. This means now you can add the instructions of how to prepare your grocery items, after adding them to the existing grocery database.
** Backup Database: This command lets you backup the database you are currently working in.
** Change Record: Allows you to change any of the data associated with an item, at any time. You can edit these fields easily. ** ** View Inventory: This new feature allows you to view the
contense of the database by doing an Alt-L for List Inventory,
arrowing up and down, and Alt-D for Page Down, and Alt-U for page up. When viewing the list of items, SCANACAN will read the
description of the item, first, and it's bar code.
** Delete Record: Now if you decide you want to delete something
you will not be needing anymore, you can easily do that. This
command deletes the barcode and everything about the item you are deleting. You have the option to change your mind if you choose not to delete an item.
** Fast Scan: This feature is really fast now. Just scan one item
after another. This feature is great for going through your
groceries after having come home from the grocery store, or a
stack of disks or a stack of CD's or video's. The description of
the item will stay on the screen until you scan another item in
the fast scan mode.
** Read Instructions: Allows you to read instructions that you
have entered into the database of your choice.
** Look up Record: This feature is great for ordering your
grocery items. Just tell SCANACAN how many of a certain item you are going to use, and the quantity you wish to order. SCANACAN will put the items into an order file so you can print out to take to your grocery store. Just as you can subtract from your
inventory, you may now add to your inventory.
** Open Database: lets you open a new database or an existing
one. SCANACAN tells you which database you are in. Now, when you leave the program, and return to SCANACAN the next time, it will put you back in the database you were last in.
** Print List: This command lets you print out your grocery list
which you created with the look up command. The information
printed on the list, is the bar code, description of the item,
and quantity you are ordering.
** Quit Program: This command takes you out of SCANACAN, and returns you to the desktop.
** Repair Index file: This command will repair the current index
file you are working in, should it get corrupted.
** About SCANACAN: This command tells you which version of
SCANACAN For Windows you are using, and gives you contact
information. ** Restore Databases, this command allows you to restore a database that has been previously backed up. SCANACAN For Windows
runs in Windows 95, 98, ME, XP, Windows 2,000, or Windows NT. It is easy to install, and uses standard Windows commands. This SCANACAN For Windows Deluxe package includes the SCANACAN For Windows software, a grocery database of 84,000 items, a hardware
database of 62,000 hardware related items, the entire Schwans
database with cooking instructions, the JAWS scripts, the manual
in text and MP3 format, on cd-rom, and the excellent quality
commercial Omni Directional Laser Wedge Bar code scanner, a stand and bracket for mounting on the wall, 100 bar code labels.
Now you see why I want this for Christmas! LOL Thanks for letting me dream! :)
OH WOW, I am not visually challanged and I want one. I am putting this on my wish list for you also. I bet it costs an arm and a leg so I am volunteering my sister laws arms, and my nieces legs to help off set the cost. I am sure that Julie will offer up her DH's nasal passages. Come on everyone.
Oh Janet and MSJen. I have discovered in this age of new technology that the only true place to find normal is on a washing machine load cycle.
lol caret
LOL Carat, you ARE too funny!! Are you paying the postage for the body parts?
And if you check above, you'll see that Butterfly Chaser has some kidney stones to donate
I have some love handles that are not doing me any good, I will gladly supply them!
On a real note there, that is an amazing machine it sounds like. I too am visually impaired. I can see with contacts, but without them I am legally blind. I have Keratoconus, which is degenerative I am told. I am totally amazed and greatful for how modern medicine is moving upward!
Thank you for sharing that with us.
Debbie
