Just got home from sis's early TG dinner and tutoring my nephew-in-law (if that explains our relationship) in Pathophys. He's going to do ok if he can get his mind wrapped around learning to pull the medical terms apart and reduce them to their basic meanings used in the questions on his exams. The answers are in the questions if he's uses this technique. I looked at his past exams and could see exactly where his problem lies. He knows his anatomy just fine, but he has a problem with spelling and with deductive reasoning. We went over the idea that in multipe choice exams (especially medically based ones), there are generally 2 WRONG answers and of the other 2 left, one is more correct than the other. It's a matter of study habits and using his noodle to decipher which answer is the most correct. His cumulative average in all his classes is 3.24 but he's pulling a 74% in this class and has to have an overall average of 76% in each class to continue into the last term. I told him to study hard on this exam and his final and between those two exams plus the class presentations he's made, I'm sure he will be able to pull the 76% out without any problem.
Hubby called from Chicago while I was at sister's home. His flight out of Seattle was canceled and they were re-routed thru Chicago instead of Portland as originally scheduled. Fog was the offending reason for being re-routed. I wondered when he left this morning at 0530 that possibly they may have to change plans. He said United was good and actually got them on a flight from Chicago that will still put them in Germany at the originally scheduled time. Whew! Now, if he can just plug in his IPOD and tune his skipper out, life will be sweet for the rest of the trip. The skipper is another story.....yak, yak, yak, blah, blah, blah. She goes on ad infinitem, ad nauseum. He has to tune her out or she drives him looney. I was the one who came up with the idea of using the IPOD this trip and loaded some music and talking books on it for him so he could use that as an excuse to not pay attention to her for awhile. Maybe he will get lucky and get upgraded to Economy Plus and get away from her. They've done that for him in the past because he's tall and gets another 12" of leg room in the E+ area. *hehehehe* and he gets to leave the skipper back in her orginal seat!
Well, I need to get a couple of things taken care of here. I hope all have a good night and a wonderful day tomorrow. Oh, and not to beat a dead horse here, but Please, 'splain it to me Lucy, what is Pickled Vermin??? Inquiring minds want to know!!! LOL

Babs,
OMG,,,that's gorgeous,,,what talent.
Kelly
I'll thank you from him, GG_W. You're right, it is gorgeous. My BIL is very talented in this manner and has done a superb job on this stained glass piece. He's currently working on other panels that will fill the three plain glass windows below this arched piece. I'm including a photo (not very good one mind you) of the whole effect so you might get an idea of the enormity of the job.
My sister and BIL have a beautiful home, and they've done much decorating and work on it. They had the house built 8 years ago and have been making modifications on it ever since. They are both quite talented people in their own rights, my sister being the *real* artist of the two. She has a gallery and is in several art associations and has created some fabulous works both for her own enjoyment and for commission work. I'm amazed at everything she turns out. I still say she's the postman's baby, I don't think she could possibly be related to anyone in our family. NO ONE in our family has the talent she has...LOL.

Babs,
That project will take quite some time,,,,what an undertaking. I have wanted to try stained glass but have shyed away due to the costs. Maybe someday I can try it.
Kelly
Babs, HOW fabulous!
Babs, beautiful work. Be sure to post more photos as they progress.
Ernie, who pulled up all the plants, Jenny or the cat ?
And why is Jenny looking at that cat in such a calculating way? Ready for a little chase around the yard?? What a cutie that little girl is, you just want to pick her up and squeeze her! But not too hard, she's pretty expensive!
Babs, that window is truly beautiful! The man has talent! My DIL does small stain glass objects and did a large piece for her son's wedding gift. Knowing how long it takes for even a small piece, I can't imagine what kind of hours went into that window!
Edited to say I'm going to Monday, because it is.
