McCool, what are you making. You may have said, but I have CRS, and it is certainly gone.

DR even if it is day time mid week my daughter 34 has to call when she goes home to Seattle if we are not going to be home she has to leave a message or be written out of my will lol. Goodness what you must have thought when you got home to my Email asking you let us know you arrived safe and sound ha ha I am older than you are and did appreciate the rapid answer lol better have friends and family that care than those that could care less. Glad you took the time to visit hope you can stay around longer next time who knows the smoker may be going again lol. Thanks for the nice things you had to say about my messy yard come back end of July first part of Aug to see the real thing.
Robert LoL we got to meet her before you so that means we have seniority so she has to visit us again before you ha ha .
Meezer this half of the dynamic duo wants to know What lol.
MG I did not have to sit in traffic to get smoked salmon . I called a friend of mine on the radio when I got to work this morning he showed up and at almost the exat same time we reached into our coats and handed each other a bag of smoked fish lol. This is after all the PNW and those of us that fish and like fish smoke it from time to time usually sharing with those that don't it is a treat even for me to have it done for me from time to time but after doing this for forty years I am sorta selective about whose salmon I will eat I can pretty much tell if the person knows what they are doing just by the way it looks.
Julie glad you feel beter that has to be concerning.
Well the High dollar Princess is up to 21pounds and I stopped on the way home and got her a bath with flea soap. Whill she was getting her do I picked up a few need things lol Little brat cost me another 55 bucks lol I have had dates that were heaper than this little blonde.
Carat happens in all familys I have a loser nephew who has done it all drugs , alcohol, and now felony assalt at a druken party. Seems he felt compelled to kick some one in the face after he knocked him down. Broke the guys nose jaw and gave him a concusion, Nephew is or at the time was 20 the victum who actually was 26 and a lawer worked in the prosacutors office. What was he doing at a party with a bunch of underaged drunks? No matter still no excuess for continuing to inflict damage after opponet is down. The book was thrown at nephew because the lawer was one of the courts own lol
Hmmmmmmm will two years rehabilitate junior I think not. Funny thing the kid always acted ok here. Ernie
Hey Ernie, there's holes in that there boat sir. Why???
Ernie,
Hope you don't plan on takin' that there boat for a little spin anytime soon,,,,uuuummm,,,,, it has a few holes in it that I'm thinkin' would fill with water real quick like. LOL
Kelly
Ernie, am I that lost. What are they doing? Tearing it apart or putting it together?? Cant really tell. The size of those ships is incredible. I remember when I was little we lived in Tacoma and mom would take us to Puget Sound on the weekends.
Ernie,
O.K.,,,I'll bite,,, is this your new boat or do you work for the company making it?
Kelly
Whoa, it wasn't that long ago that I peeked at messages before I left work. Must be 10 new ones.
woodspirit1- your great-niece reminds me of a young woman whose family used the Food Cupboard from year 1 (1989). She had 4 kids before she was 25 and I think there was more than one partner. Somewhere along the way she got encouragement and went to
school. The last time we saw her was several years ago when she was in and told us she had been accepted to law school. Doesn't happen that often, but occasionally we get real success stories. But we often say that soap operas pale by comparison with the real-life
stories of our clients.
We also note, that many of our own kids would have been using a food bank somewhere along the line if they hadn't had family support. And I think the thing that has kept me in the food bank business for 17 years is a profound conviction that no kids should go hungry no matter how messed up their parents are (we have 50% kids in our program as we serve a suburb). It is only by helping with the nutrition that the kids are equipped to go to school and get enough education to get off the system.
Casey, you certainly did your best by your niece. Let’s hope that somewhere along the line she will respond. And if she doesn’t, at least you tried.
Must say good night all.
I'll peek in tomorrow. With all this reading and writing while not connected, it looks as though I've got about 5 hours if Internet time to get me through tomorrow and Wednesday without extra charges.

Ernie, it must take a long time cause it doesn't look very new with all that rust on it.
Until it floats? Looks to me that testing to see if anyone screwed up during assembly could be a real problem. One that the word OPPS just doesn't sound like it would cut it. LOL
Hard to imagine something like that actually floating in the water. Then again I have a hard time understanding how a plane can stay in the air when a feather still falls to the ground. I was never meant to be an engineer. Did ya guess....
CARAT,
Nah, I would have never guessed,,,, But then I wasn't either,,,LOL

My guess is so the water can get out.
Hello again. My shopping trip did yield some good bargains. At the thrift store I got 4 nice books for a total of $2.05 because it was senior discount day and they were priced at 55 or 75 cents to begin with. At the grocery store I got a turkey for 19 cents a pound because I had over $25 of other grocery items. So, for less than $5 I have a turkey that will feed the hungry horde that will be here for Thanksgiving. I looked briefly at the bargain bulbs at the discount store and passed them by, I am tired of digging holes. Probably next spring when the ones I planted are blooming and looking beautiful I will ask myself why I didn't buy a few more of them.
I hear a lot of stories of kids and others in trouble since my hubby works for the district attorney. Some people come out of a jail or prison experience with a changed attitude but it is pretty rare. Much of their troubles can be traced back to how they were raised, but really it comes right down to personal choices because kids from the same family background can turn out going in completely different directions because some just have the grit and determination to do what is right. Often there is somebody in that person's life that made a difference, somebody who cared.
Goodnight all.
Hi Ernie! Glad your "Price-y Princess" is doing well. (That's some kinda Cabin Cruiser you got there. LOL)
Darius...thanks for the spelling lesson. I musta been thinking how BASE that BASS (a fish?) coming the 4+ cars behind you or me is when I wrote it wrong. hehehe
There's so much happening since I left to go watch CSI Miama over an hour ago. I'm just glad that a lot of other people remember to write about it all. (Thank you 'other people'! ;-))
I couldn't resist signing off last time with the "whatever her name is" SEE! I *knew* you'd miss me! LOL
Now...tomorrow's DAILY is up in the PARKING LOT!
Here's the link if you need it:

Hope everyone has a GREAT night!
~julie~
(P.S. ....thanks again for all your concern...and I *really* mean that!)
Hey you, we know you really mean it. I hope you realize that we really mean it when we tell you that you need to change 1 and 2.
Sorry, Casey...no can do! :-) ;-) (Trust me, if DH is around HE will make sure I do things in the proper order!)
Oh that reminds me...someone mentioned the "Sharp Objects" and DH taking over in the kitchen. Well...I have a problem with knives, they tend to cut me...uh...a lot? :-D
Night all! I'm turning OFF the computer before I hit the "home" tab this time. hahahaha
~julie~
Casey it is about 14 months to build this boat. The rusty plate was rusty in storage the inside side has been sand blasted and coated with weld through primer to kill the rust. The rusty areas and all the weld areas will be sandblasted and primed before the paint goes on. When finished every surface will be coated with expensive epoxy paint. This will add years to the life of this boat as well as make it easier to keep looking good and maintain .
Not much chance of a weld failure critical welds are preped welded with people who are certified for that procedure and then the critical integrity welds are tested for quality by x ray.
LOL airplanes fly because of lift caused by the air having to rush over the top surface of the wing faster than the speed of the air moving along the bottom surface of the wing so they both arrive at the trailing edge at the same time.BTW feathers fly to lol attached to birds.Ernie
Ernie, thanks for the lesson, but I still dont think it is right that a feather still falls to the earth although slower then most things and a bucket of metal flies through the air. It also slips by me how I can sink in water like a brick and your mega ton ship can float cause it gets it's welds x-rayed.
I use to think when watching my neighbor weld that it was so easy until he let me try. Well it looked easy....
Casey
LOL about flying buckets....more things than that puzzle me..how does a dvr work, or a tv for that matter....I've decided it's magic and I don't need to know, just know how to operate the remote. DH relies on me to do it because he says we have reached our capacity to retain information on new technology, and can no longer buy new "toys" that require programming ....or brains.
And, uhhh, Ernie, what What? Ya lost me....and now explain how bees fly while you are in teaching mode.....LOL
Regarding sewing, nothing fancy, straight seams only....curtains, etc. Nothing requiring gussets, french or flat felled seams, no darts, blind hems, patience or attention to detail, thank you very much. The cover for the hassock turned out moderately well, and matches the chair. The slipcover for the chair isn't a great fit, kind of looks like it got dressed in the dark but there doesn't seem to be any way to modify it, so we'll just call it shabby chic and let it go.
I'm with what'shername in regard to life in general, if you lose your ability to laugh, you are really in trouble. Went through the foster kid thing too thanks to my ex- who generously donated my time and labor to take in two of his sister's teen delinquents. Neither of them turned out well either, but it gave him the opportunity to tell everyone what a great guy he was to take them in.
The girl died in her thirties, she was paranoid schizophrenic and wouldn't take her diabetes meds because she thought the pharmacy was giving her expired pills, went into a coma. Her brother hasn't changed one iota, he's the other half of the truck deal with the one down in Illinois that I mentioned last week.
Dcat, balancing ten checkbooks would send me screaming down the road!!! I do two, and if it weren't for online banking, neither would be balanced, or legible!!
There's rice pudding left but not for long because it looks like breakfast to me............. see you in Tuesday
It's good to see people who still know how to thread a needle...OR a sewing machine, for that matter! I can't remember who it was talking about the cats and the pattern...but I could *hear* that tissue fluttering in the wind. (Nice thought! Thanks for reminding me of one of the things I *used* to do a lot of...before Gardening! LOL)
Ernie...I live with a guy who has explained all those floating and flying things to me for over 40 years. No mystery for me there...I just have to wonder WHY people want to get IN them! LOL (I can handle the boats MUCH better than the metal birds, though.)
~julie~
Good morning. 15 degrees here this morning but now the sun is up, sky is clear and we are in for a nice day if the wind doesn't get into the act. Yesterday was so windy I went to town to get all my errands done since I knew I wasn't going to be working outside in it.
Mg and Julie, I hope you are feeling better today.
Today I will be helping my neighbor with his cattle for a while, and then I think we are moving the sheep too. I sure hope it warms up in the next 2 1/2 hours! After that I might get some more yard work done.
Ernie, that's interesting that you build those Alaska ferries. How long is this boat, and do you know what it's name will be? When is it scheduled to be finished? I used to live in SE Alaska and have ridden on a few of them. It's the floating highway system up there since the communities are so isolated. Ketchikan for instance is on an island, the Ketchikan airport is on a different island, other nearby communities are on other islands or mainland where the roads do not connect. So for instance, if you are in Ketchikan and you want to take your car and go to Thorne Bay you take the ferry. From Thorne Bay you can drive to other communities on Prince of Wales Island but nowhere else. If you wanted to take your car and go to Wrangell, Petersburg, Sitka, Juneau or Haines, or Skagway you would take the ferry. The ferries run day and night but not too often. We boarded a ferry about midnight one night to go 6 hours to Prince Rupert, BC, Canada, arriving about daylight, then drove for over 1000 miles to Seattle in 2 days. From the north end of the line you can get on to the Alaska Highway system and drive to places like Anchorage and Fairbanks.
Time to feed the fire, feed myself and the horses, and get on with the day. See you later.
OOPS, somehow I got this on the wrong day, and have no idea how to move it to the right thread. Darn.
Mary, just select the whole message and then do a copy and paste into the other daily.
~julie~
I think I know how to select but copy and paste is something about which I have no clue. Did I happen to mention that I am a real novice at computer stuff?
Mary...you select the text by holding down the left mouse button and dragging the mouse to include whatever you want to copy...then release the button. You text will be highlighted. Then move the cursor into the highlighted area, click the RIGHT mouse button (a floating option menu will appear) Click on COPY. Then move to the new thread...get to the REPLY box...RIGHT Click, and select PASTE. Voila! Instant transfer of the copied text.
OR
You can paste your text just by holding down the CTRL key while you press the "V" key.
Hope that helps.
~julie~
Thanks Julie, it worked. Just like some kind of magic. Amazing!
Maria...I'm glad you're getting familiar with all those 'goodies' on teh computer. Copying and pasting is essential for me...sure takes a long time to retype if you don't! LOL
~julie~
Mary these things are built in sections called modules and attached directley to each other and in some places framed like a house in between some places. This boat is just being built and the holes are just because we are not there yet or have been left open for fresh air and light and in some cases window and door openings. Hope this clears this up. Ernie
Ernie, I was just kidding when I said "so the water can get out". I knew it was built in sections and not finished yet. But the real questions are in my reply above which I posted at 7:56am on the 15th. Sorry for the confusion, I didn't take enough time when referring you to my post and got the wrong one.
