Coffee and...For Nov. 8, 2005

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

Carat, I am sure that there are ticks in SC. We just are very vigilant especially in the spring, and check all animals several times a day, and when we have been out, do the same thing for ourselves. Of course the experts recommend wearing long pants, and long sleeves, right,in the heat we had this year. Just check every time you are out. Those buggers can get on your clothes and you carry them right in the house. And if you happen to get bit by one (they attach and suck blood) be sure to use tweezers and pull it out of the skin and make sure you get the head.

Woodspirit, I am green with envy. I have hinted, and asked, but still no progress. I try to tell him how much more space he will have in the garage if I get a greenhouse.

Morningayle, I too went to chat, and was unable to get in. I had my diet sunkist and a pack of cigs,and was ready to be parked here for awhile, was really disappointed as I have been so busy the last couple of weeks that I haven't even tried to get on.

Sarv, Meezer, batten down the hatches, hope the blow is a short lived one. We had a doozy Sunday am, but it was brief. That was when the tornado hit Munfordville, ky and Evansville, Ind. Not close but really scary.

101 I won't tell that you covet Woodspirits DH. BTW, what is your DH name? Does he use the computer, might just slip him a hint! LOL. I know, I would covet anyone's DH if he would build me a greenhouse.

Magoobu, so you are changing your name? Won't make a bit of difference, everyone will still call you by what they already do.

Maria, I was over in pet forum awhile ago, and got great views of samson. I don't blame you, show him off, he is a handsome fellow.

Bal, Bringing in the Brugs, got the song "bringing in the sheaves in my head and it won't go away. LOL Is Tinker undergoing a bit of jealousy with the new kid? Give him time, they will both be best buddies before long.

Meezer, was it you who said you don't do beneath, behinds, unders, let me tell you a funny. With only the 2 of us in the house, our main bathroom doesn't have the door closed often. The other day DH's cousin by marriage was here and needed to use the facilities. Well, after he left,I went in and was checking the supplies, and happened to push the door shut, well lo and behold there was the biggest cobweb behind that door that I have ever seen. His wife is one of the fussiest housekeepers, so I am wondering if he went home and told of the monster cobweb in my bathroom. So today, took my long handled duster, and checked behind every door in the house. Yeah, mine looks good on the surface, just don't run your hand behind the dresser, unless you want it covered in dust and cobwebs.

Who had the mouse? Geez, it's that time of year when they want to come in and share living spaces. Since our house if fairly new, have only been bothered by them the first winter, they didn't know that humans had moved in. DM does have a problem, so will begini to buy her supplies for the onslaught. I hate those sticky glue traps though, who takes them off, or do you just throw the whole thing away?

Well, I have been having such success sleeping lately, I am off to bed. Sarv, is your arm still hurting and keeping you awake? The chiropractor has surely helped mine. Have to get up early to go to a chiropractor appointment and then to the grocery for me, DM and DMIL. So with all that running around, need all the sleep/energy that I can get. Good night all, hope it is a good one.

Good Advice, Kooger on cholesterol, I have a very low natural count but My husband did not had to take medicine which lowered it and careful what he ate and I ate the same and still do, but ever used any type of margarine, oils and some real butter for taste as you said plus lots and lots of fruit and salads, cereal with no fat cream, yogurt and cottage cheese with no more but 1% fat, eggs were a big no no in those days but some how that notion has changed to a degree.

Oh my goodness Mccool! I don't know how you did that! My pea sized brain just can't remember everyone's name and what all they've done. :) Don't let me fool you about the housework. I just do the stuff that has to be done. Gonna let these clean freaks here come do the curtains, windows and blinds;.
Just go ahead and feel free to use my user name. If y'all don't mind humering me just a minute I'd like to share how I picked it out. It's not a big deal, so please please don't anyone think I'm talking to anyone specific on this forum ... I'm just wanting to share, K?
I chose I=me
O=owe
1=one (the only One)
IO1=The Lord
Cause without Him ... I really couldn't do anything. :)
Okay, thanks for humering me
defoecat, I almost fell off my chair with your story about the spider webb. The other day after Darius left ... one of the bulbs blew in the ceiling fan light out in the den. The DH got the stool to change it and said ... "Oh my, there's a beautiful spider web. It's the most elaberate one I've ever seen." I almost died thinking about how she must surely have seen it. Uggg. And I was trying to make a good impression!

Hello again. It's so late now most of you have probably gone to bed. Especially those of you who are fighting the battle of the bug I hope you are all over it soon. I seldom get sick with anything but when I do I seem to make up for lost time.

Woodspirit, it's is so exciting that you are getting a greenhouse! You will fill it up in no time. Keep posting those progress pictures.

Molly, thanks for the update. I'm glad you and Dauius got to visit with Cyberageous. I followed her progress pictures when she first started posting and then she disappeared for a long time. She sure has a gigantic project and I had wondered how she fared with the hurricane.

Today I got more cardboard for my latest project, spread it out and covered it with about 6 loads of dirt using the front end loader on the tractor. I need to move a couple of old utility poles that we have laying around and make some sides for the flower bed, then level the dirt that I dumped on the cardboard (anchored it in case we get more wind). I bought more bulbs at the discount store (they were half price) and so now have to decide where to put them. Lots to do out there, but now the weather forecast is for nicer weather. A few days ago all they could see was a constant stream of storms and had forecast rain or snow showers, now they are saying clear for tomorrow and partly cloudy for the next couple of days. (Emagine having a job where you guess at everything, get it wrong a lot of the time and still get paid for saying it!) Overnight in the teens tonight.

Goodnight all.

Thanks for all the Happy day wishes...(Thanks for the "Stressed Out" dolly, Casey. I think I really *need* it today.)

Tomorrow's Daily is up in the PARKING LOT...or you can use this link:

See ya there...I hope!

So, does anyone grow cannas? I got a Robert Vaughn canna the other day from a DG'er She also sent me a beautiful yellow one with some red on the throat, but doesn't know the name of it. I have some great big red ones in my yard. They are around 6 ft. tall. Absolutely beautiful when they bloom!

Hey Julie
Went to check out tomorrow's thread and the link took me to the mid western forum ... "coffee and ..." Is that right?

(Zone 8b)

Julie I'm lost!!

Soooo, has everyone gone to bed and left me here all alone? :-(

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

Uhhhh no, I am still awake. bored stiff.

Oh well, I thought I was the only bored to death! The hubby and dog are both snoring!

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

lol, my DH doesn't snore anymore, but the dogs have evolved into small machines in that area.... One doesn't this horrible sleep disorder thing and stops in the middle of it, holds for a few seconds and then exhales. Drives me crazy.....

Do you know what's wrong with the link for tomorrow's chat? Is that the right one?

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

LOL, I dont know for sure... If it is I aint taking the weather that comes with that zone.....I am such a baby.

You and me both! LOL It was 84 here today. Love my weather as long as we don't have the humidity. Sure wish we could get some rain for the garden, though.

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

Heck, we dont even hear that word but once or twice a year...

I can take the humidity....I dont do well with ice.....

Yeah, I kknow ... you are lucky!! My DH often has business out in Montana and me and my girl get to go with him. It's just beautiful out there. I can walk and walk and walk and still keep my same clothes on! LOL You can't do that here in the south. You get up ... go to the mail box ... come in and change clothes. You go out ... work in the garden ... and come in and shower and change clothes. This takes place all day long! :) It was really nice being in that part of the country with no such thing. I did learn, however, that they didn't have any comprehension of what "sweet tea" was. I got looked at rather strange every time I ordered that and soon learned to keep my mouth shut and let the DH order my tea. LOL

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

I love sweet tea and I always stop at the first Mickey Ds on my way out of Charlotte in the morning.. DH thinks I am insane.

I was in Charlotte when they were all complaining of 97 degrees and 90% humidity. I had just left 122 degree and 44% humidity, I guess it is all what you are use to and willing to accept.
Once it hits over 110 outside here, you pray for moisture even when it is coming in the form of sweat.

I have only been to Montana once it was late spring and it was beautiful. We only get those brisk mornings about two weeks out of the year here.

Muscoda, WI(Zone 4b)

Sorry about that...must have been more "stressed out" than I thought.

Here's a new thread...and yes, it's in the PARKING LOT! LOL
