It's a bloomin' contest!!!!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Hey, fall is setting in and so is the cold weather. Eeeewww! Iccckkkk! So, I want to do a contest and figured a "bloomin' contest" is better. LOL

I'll get to the important part first. The prize. Don't we all just want the prize? LOL

If I use your suggestion, you will get a box full of plants from my *budding* business in the spring. The plants will be tuned to your zone or your desires, so if you win, make sure you have a "wanted" list and I will see what I can do. :)

Anybody still with me? Anybody want to know what the contest is?

See the next post!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Y'all got trigger fingers? LOL

Okay, okay.

I finally bought a small farm! Most of you already know that. I plan to sell plants from a business on the property. I'll mostly sell perennials-including daylilies, ornamental grasses, other perennials. I'll also sell a smaller variety of tropicals and bulbs. I'm sure I will sell annuals and veggies and herbs too, probably a bit of everything. At this point, I don't know if I will specialize in anything or not. If so, hems are at the top of the food chain. ;)

I need a name for my little farm/nursery. I'll give you some details and see if it rattles any brain cells for you. People have given me lots of suggestions and many I like. It's all getting real now, so I need a name. :)

I'll have 7 1/4 acres to start off, maybe more later.

The property is in two county counties and I live on the line.

I have kids and it will be a family business so the name has to be 'clean'.

The property is nearly perfectly flat, no hills, no valleys, no lakes, etc.

It is almost square with trees on three sides.

My driveway used to be the old township road.

It is on Turner Rd.

My last name is Meyer.

The first letters of all the kids names do not make any sort of name when combined. LOL

We don't have any sort of critters yet.

Down the road, we will probably sell vegetables, fruit, home made salsa, etc.

Alright, that gives all you word wizards something with which to start. I'll add more details if I think of anything perinent. Feel free to ask questions.

The official rules:

It has to be original.

You can't take a name someone else suggested on another forum.

If you have time, look it up and make sure there are not 500 other businesses with that name (as I found on google with one I liked).

If I use your suggestion or something really close to it, you get the prize. If I combine 2 people's names, they both get a prize.

Okay, I am ready.
NAME MY FARM (please)!!!

We already have the sign for our place one of these days... Forgotten Love... We are thinking B&B with plants grown and sold next door. All the plants would would sell would be the older ones on the whole, at least that is the plan!

It would help if you gave us a little more to go on.. like you go for names with flowers but dont like names with numbers or such..

Fields of Dreams Farms

Your "How much does a dream cost?" thread made me think of this.

Forgotten Love is pretty. I think the idea of a B&B with plants to take home as a nice memoir is neat idea!

I wish I could say what I do and don't like.

I plan to be myself. I'll probably greet guests while I am filfthy.

I know I don't want anything snotty sounding cuz that won't be me.

I don't want anything really cutsie but catchy would be good.

Fun or funny would even suit me well.

Most of the time I am giggling, laughing or smiling. People always point that out.

My six kids are girls and there could be more.

Let me think some more.
