back again for just a short one. Someone mentioned going into chat using a 'back door' - what is that?? Is it something I DO need to know about?? Can we sneak in and chat - just the GOB's"? Im curious..
Coffee and...Part 44...! :-D
Maria, lovely rose. Is it blooming now?
I have big buds on many of mine, but it's been too cold for them to open. Time to cut them back, I guess.
Ann
M5... Second???? LOLOLOL
yes, Ann, just took the picture a couple days ago in the rain as you can see, still quite a few buds on it but do not think they will open
I do not prune them till springtime only remove leaves and buds.
do not know the name but their scent is heavenly, the bush is over a hundered years old, I trans planted it from the farm house Where my DH grand parents lived to this one.
It suffered quite a bit this summer ecause of the drought and of course the japanesew beetles are at it alll the time
Maria
Yeah we eat squirrel, I make a stew with dumplings, but since that takes a few hours to simmer, they are currently in the oven. How "HE" fixed them I do not know. He is still pouting on the couch. Barked at the kids a little while ago and I told him off for it, they weren't doing anything wrong. I'll be glad when he goes to work.
Oh, Sarv, I wondered about that back door too , what is that all about???
Maria
sarv, dmail Maria. Copy the one I just sent you, lol.
mg- I don't get what I am supposed to do....
give DH a whack from me too - tell him to straighten up...
did you get the Dmail I sent you about the chat?
copy and paste it into a new Dmail to Maria.
If you can't LMK, and I will go find my original one, lol, I've gotten 5 since I sent yours.
mg- I didn't get any dmail. send me another please - I don't want to miss out on anything!!
Have you clicked on your "Home" tab lately? Dmails don't appear if you keep clicking on "Forums" all the time.
*wonders how many Dmails sarv has piled up, lol*
Yes, I have been frantically clicking on the home tab.....then I tried refreshing and got your dmail. I went where you indicated, but no one was there- I was talking to myself.....LOL
Can you do that anytime???
Wow, I sent that a while ago, lol.
Yes you can, but it helps if you let someone know. I'm not sure you should be playing in there unsupervised.
I'm used to talking to myself LOL
Now did you send it to Maria?
Pretty quick there, Darius! I knew you'd pick up on it. LOL
I'm not sittingheregonnawatchtv...bye
Y'all might get a hoot of a "bidding war" for me (all in fun, of course!) scroll down near the bottom:

Maria, don't feel alone. I think they have started a cult somewhere and left me here to fend for myself.
::::off crying in the corner:::::
whaaaa :-(((
Okay MG - touche' - I'm here. I can't keep up with you guys.
As far as your RU, ...I'm going on vacation 4/22-4/30 - and May,June,July are bad for me work wise....but - don't worry about me..I'll come if I can. I do know that the first weekend in May would be out for sure - too close to vacation.
I've got nothing else to report. Just got off work - long day....so too tired to think.
Hey - I did get Lee's book - and I started it last night - already hooked in....there's just something about the way he writes....really gifted.
later!
m.
hey I am here!
they did not dmail me so I am as lost as you guys! Carat go add to "blu" that should kill a few
Mags
what the heck os 'blu'?
Casey, thanks for the information about the stroke with your dad. That makes me feel better, when someone who has gone thru it and tell me about it all.
Thanks for your support, All.
Mg, thanks for the offer to chat. If you have AOL IM, I have a screen name there, since my son is at college, I use it a lot with him. Let me know. What d-mail are you guys talking about? What did I miss?
I like the #2 rose myself.
My dad was much better today. He is a very determine man at 85 so he is doing great. He was walking with a walker better today. Is going to the rehab center tomorrow morn.
Mary, I am in Bellingham, WA with my parents. My sister does live in this town but she is so busy with teaching and her family. It kind of pisses me off at her attitude. I am the one to do things for my parents. I work too but my parents and family come before work. She showed up at the hospital yesterday for 1/2 hr and then left. I am the one left holding everything. I actually don't mind but.... I do the caring better than she ever would but wouldn't mind some help at times.
Bal, I thought of stopping sometime to see you but am not sure if I will have time this trip tho. Maybe sometime in the future.
Darius, I saw the "bidding" war of you. I think it is kind of funny but cool.
Before I forget, ViolaAnn, my BC cookbook is the hard back one. The date is inside on the first page, hard to find it tho.
Well, need to go. My mom and I are going to just eat food from the deli. Nothing big plan for meals nowadays.
Take care all.
Carol D(R)
awww maria go to this link "if you dare" and see the insanity that is "blu"

hey I have AOL instant message too!!! if you want my screen name let me know anybody who has it!!!
A
Speaking of Instant Messenger programs, do ya'll realize that you can do voice chat for no extra charge on many of them, as well? I'm most familiar with Yahoo, and from there have voice-chatted with folks all over North America and as far away as Australia.
It's something to keep in mind if you're trying to keep down long-distance and/or international phone costs and your friends and family are online. ;-)
I'm lost........I have posted on threads I don't even know where they are or how to get back to them. I followed something somewhere saw my name posted went 'home' and now this is the only safe place where I think I know where I am. I think I even spent some money on some one some where!!!
On top of that posted more today than ever, my guys are sure I have lost it.
Joyous, relax!!! Go to your Member Page and click on "View the posts you have made"; it's the fourth item down on the left side. You should be able to easily retrack your steps that way, and then you can mark the threads for watching in the future. :-)
Tutti, I did finally find it, it was already marked! Long day. Put my bid in and now dh says time to turn off puter. pout pout.
night night sleep tight..........
Joy
Peeking one more time from work. Gotta go home and I spent so much time on the computer that I won't reconnect once I get home.
Good night all.
Ann
hehehe... it's not too late to get up early and start it all again. ;-)
Speaking of which, I once had a second level manager who would smile and state, "If you come into work late, you might as well leave early. There's no sense in being late twice in one day."
The funny thing was, there was logic and a great deal of compassion behind that comment, especially for those of us working in engineering and more-or-less 'salaried'. Pick yourself up, brush yourself off, and hit the ground running tomorrow. An hour or two missed today doesn't make a difference in the long run, and you'll be in a far better mindset tomorrow. :-)
Hi again,
Thanks to everyone who sent compliments on the candles, and thanks especially to TuttiFrutti for letting me know that I could post my website on my own page. I've been so busy checking out various forums since I joined that I'd never gotten around to going to my own Member Page.
Ann and Maria, those are both beautiful roses. View #2 is still my favorite. I like the bud next to the opened flower.
Carol, glad to hear that your dad is doing as well as he is. Sounds like he's already making a good recovery. Is your mother's pacemaker adjusted and working properly now? Having something like that just a bit "off" could be a root cause of some of her confusion.
Darius, did you ever get an appointment for the second opinion that you wanted?
Robert, where oh where do you get all that energy? Is there a cache of it somewhere? I could use some! All of your accomplishments are a constant source of amazement. Glad the new pup is getting the hang of things.
Who was asking about cats using a doggie door? They can and generally will after a certain amount of balking, but you do have to watch out for their bringing in "friends" like live snakes, birds, mice, etc. I finally got DH to put one in our bedroom door because Miss Miceus has always slept on our bed at night, but now that we have an air conditioner, we have to shut the door to keep the cool inside. I was getting very sick of one of us having to get up three or four times a night to let the cat out-----let the cat in. It took her a while and I cant say she ever LIKED it (it has a tendency to whap her in the rump), but she did start using it. We'll likely have to go through the whole "learning curve" again next summer.
Mg, squirrel, huh? I never tried it and kind of like watching the little buggers out in the yard. The other thing that's kind of bothersome is that I've been watching a thread over in Wildlife about a tiny baby squirrel that was rescued after its nest was blown down and has been hand raised. Cute little thing, hope she never gets eaten!
My sympathy to all suffering from losing loved ones to Alzheimers and dementia. Just about every female in my mother's lineage who lived long enough seems to have been affected by it. We're keeping an eye on her and she has shown some worrisome memory lapses in the last year or so. She and I both dread becoming victims of this.
Sarv, those oreos never got to me because I never liked the things, but this time of year that dratted candy corn is my downfall. Its pure sugar, no redeeming value at all, but I can go through a whole bag of the stuff in a couple of days. Can't even figure out why I eat it as I usually don't like super sweet stuff.
Nice rooms you guys are showing off. My dream room would be a solarium, complete with water feature. We wanted to build one so that we could take advantage of passive solar heating and save on the fossil fuel usage (and I might even be able to keep some plants alive over the winter for a change), but with DH bouncing between temporary jobs and unemployment, it's not likely to happen. Getting old still s***ks when it comes to finding a job, etc.
Got to go get back to work. I hope to at least finish one jewelry repair for a customer and maybe start on a special order as well. Good night all.
PSST, McCool, you need to edit that link to your homepage so it doesn't include the DG part. And you're welcome. :)
Hey, mg, my screen name is rufflesdaisy. What's yours?
McCool, the pacemaker is still being adjusted along with her blood thinning med. It has only been 5 weeks since the surgery so.... Time is healing all around here.
Carol (DR)
Well had supper, and cleaned the kitchen, read awhile, and watched some tv, now am trying to catch up on the chatter since I've been away.
Morning Gayle, Pissy Husband, Sarv is sending the 2x4, yelling at the kids, no way. Does he work the 3rd shift? DH worked second and third for several years, and we only communicated by notes on the kitchen table. Not a good way to argue. I could leave a note with pure fire in my eyes, and it didn't translate!
Carat, you are bad, bleach in DH clothes? I've thought of it but never have done it. And leading your friend on, shame on you. Better break the news to her from a distance of about 15-20 feet, she just might smack you!!
Joyous, a no-show Dr., I understand, although I don't like to be in the situation of waiting. Although, if I was the emergency patient would really appreciate his presence.
Aria, that is a gorgeous rose. I am a rose lover, but roses evidently don't like me, can't seem to coax them into doing anything. And I am told they need lots of care.
Darius, I saw the posts bidding on your coming to visit fellow DGers, That's a hoot. If you do need a place to "light" this is a cat friendly house. Have an ornery 7 year old cat myself.
Magoobu, No squirrel for me either. DH has about 7 in the freezer and he rabbit hunts, I will fix them for him, but no way am I going to eat something that looks so cute. Have tried to eat rabbit, but as I bring it to my mouth, I see the little cotton tail, and just can't do it.
Sarv, my twin and I are identical. When we were in grade school, mom dressed us alike, but by the time we were in HS, dressed as we wished. I was the athletic one, was a cheerleader for 3 years in HS. One time DS made a date early in the week, and later in the week made another. She tried to call the first guy to break the date, but couldn't get in touch with him. So she asked if I would go on a date with 1st fellow. So when the night arrived, I went on her date for her. She had just met this guy, or we couldn't have pulled it off. I don't see what she saw in him as I thought he was a bore! Well, the next morning, she wanted to know all about our date. I just smiled coyly and said "you had a good time". She never asked me again to do that for her. We were close then, and we still are. We live about 2 hours from each other, and don't get to visit that often, so I look forward to any time we can get together. Our DHes get along really well, so we usually go on vacation together, that way we can talk until we are blue!! Yes, and before you ask, we do have premonitions about bad things happening to the other. Been many a time I have had "that feeling" and picked up the phone and called, and sure enough, something was wrong. Same with her. We get really silly sometimes, and our husbands just shake their heads and walk away from us. We get the giggles over the simplest thing!! We were once asked to leave an information office in Las Vegas, we were so cracked up.
Well, I have really enjoyed your posts today. DH and I are going in the morning to get flu shots, so will be out for awhile.
You all sleep tight, and have sweet fluffy dreams, and stay warm.
Rats, having some problems again for 2-3 days with Cubital Tunnel Syndrome. Not the same as Carpal Tunnel... this is the nerve in the elbow and makes the 2 smallest fingers numb.
I had it last Spring, was careful with my elbow and it went away. Now it's back... and I seldom lean on my left elbow, and no recent trauma.
Had a wonderful talk with MollyMc tonight while she was sitting in a darkened Ft. Lauderdale. Lots of yard damage but that's all except for no electricity. Said she saw stars in the night-time sky for the first time in a long time!
Darius, when you talk to Molly again, tell her hi from me please!
From me too
