Gloriosa Daisy Help Needed

Midway, TX(Zone 8b)

I have one Gloriosa Daisy in my garden that bloomed beautifully. It now has the dried flower heads on it. I would like to collect seeds from this plant. How do I do that? I have cut the dried flower heads off and the plant has new fresh leaves coming on it right now. I would love to be able to save the seeds and plant next spring. Or maybe fall planting. ?

The dark head in the center has the seeds...if it is dried, you are half way there. They are tiny little black things...sort of flattish and shiny. There are more viable seeds at the base of the flower head than at the crown...but you should still have over 100 from one bloom.

I'd let the head get crispy dry and break it apart over a good sized bowl. You should see the seeds among the chaff.

hope this helps...I don't have any seeds at the moment, Or I'd take a pic and show you. Gloriosa Daisies tend to be a short lived perennial for me and they get powdery mildew with our high humidity, so I've quit growing them. I do love them though...one of my favorite flowers.

Thanks so much for the info Melody. I still have the dried flower heads so I'll try your suggestion and see what I get. *g* Over 100 seeds! Wow that would be great! I do love this flower.
