Different angle, same bloom.

Zem - yes, temperature fluctuations very often causes modulation of the pigment formation and visibility...the colder temperatures are particularly known for causing unusual pigment formation and display...smaller flowers with reduced fertility are often also resultant of temperatures that are colder than the plants flowers would prefer to see...many times the pollen sacs/pouches will fail to fully mature and open,so no viable pollen is released and the pistils can also be stunted physically and physiologically...in short malformation and distortion of usual features...
The other side of the coin is that the cold can produce cleistogamic flowers with unusual physical and behavioural characteristics...these are sometimes produced to insure the production of seeds in less than usually favorable conditions...
TTY,....
Any recent news about EmmaGraces's son? I just read about his accident and sure hope hge is doing better. Sounds like he was lucky. Please urge anyone you know with a bike to wear a helmet!
I am finally getting some seeds harvested. Lots from Akathoukinounni and Asuka and a few from Fuji No Momo. Still trying to get some from the Asuka NOT and the blue tie dye one. I have brought a few pods from each inside and am hoping a few on the vine will dry yet before it is too cold. It is getting down around 30 some nights now, but the vines are still alive, so I hope the seeds are OK.
Susan
Hmm, haven't heard anything on Emma's son... I hope we'll get new info soon, though last I heard, he was doing fine :)

He is home, fine, and Emma is headed back to her home this afternoon. She will be returning when her DDIL is closer to her due date, 3-6 weeks from now. She'll probably post today ortomorrow.

Hi Everyone.....
I'M HOME!
My son, Jim, is doing great, and is now on his way to recovery. We are all so thankful that he is alive and still with us. Jim has also told us that was his 'last' bike ride.
Thank you all for your prayers and well-wishes.
All so very much appreciated.
Thought I'd post photo of Jim 'before' and 'after'.
This is photo of Jim and his wife, Jennifer taken this summer.
Not a great photo, but the only one I could find at the moment that was recent.
Emma
OMG, It really is a mirakle that he is alive. That was not just a small nodge on the head he got. Glad that it all turned out ok for all of you.
Not a good picture.........what are you talking about. I see two cute lovebirds in the garden. Glad to have you back.
Janett
Thank you Janett....
Yes, Jim and Jennifer do make a beautiful couple don't they!

Oh, Emma, what a miracle. God was really with your son on that motorcycle. What a wonderful Christmas you are going to have with a son well on the road to recovery and a new grandbaby. I'm so happy to hear your good news..
Glad to here everything is OK. From the looks of that knock on the noggin it makes me glad my husband and I wear our helmets!!
Take care & nice to have you back.
Ronnie
Thank you Sylvia and Ronnie,
A Real Miracle, for sure!
BTW, Ronnie, the front of Jim's head is NOTHING compared to the back of his head where he took the hardest hit. About a 6"x2" gash.
Emma
I'm very happy for your son and your family! It is definitely a miracle!
:) Donna
Thank you Donna,
Yes, a miracle - very much!
Emma
