Hope you're all having a blutiful day...anniversary wishes coming your way Trois and your dw.

Santa Fe, TX(Zone 9b)

Thanks weegy12. It has been a great day, except for the rain, followed by a steam bath.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

That would be a sauna, huh Trois?

Panhandle, FL(Zone 8a)

Oh I am soooo blu! I missed trois's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY and anniversary too!

Santa Fe, TX(Zone 9b)

Isn't a sauna dry heat? This definately is not dry heat. Max humidity. If it would just skip a couple of days. Blu hoo.

Santa Fe, TX(Zone 9b)

Thanks Weeds. Had a great steak for lunch.
Blu the whole budget. (Also Orchid)

somewhere, PA

I am back and so blu. I miss SC already....... But happy to be with DH and the kids.

2000, it can happen.

Santa Fe, TX(Zone 9b)

So far, my Sat Com has only failed during very heavy downpours. Of course, that's when you have the time to use it most.

Go, blu!

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Well, I blu it! Sauna, dry heat, humidity, dampness...what I thinking.
Hey carat, good to see you. I'm still working on my DSL issue, still waiting for my 5th modem replacement which should have been here by now...I will call Verizon AGAIN and tell them they blu it again.
Stay cool ya'all.

somewhere, PA

Hey all!

Trois - DW sounds like a lucky lady. 45 yrs and still gets orchids?

Casey - when does the whole family move to SC?

Weegy - sounds like you've had a lot of issues with the DSL!

MGB - we don't even have cable out here! Thank goodness Verizon offered
DSL or I would not be here on blu!!!

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

Phoenix, MD(Zone 7a)

2000 by what??? Labor day or earlier any bets bluhoo LOL

Phoenix, MD(Zone 7a)

oh Janis that is awful!!!! Poor thing pictures and all --- gone??????

I need to do a backup that is for sure or I will be blu - too!!!!

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

Learned the hard way that you always back up everything at least once a week and after everytime you add a family picture. I lost all the pictures of my parents that I had borrowed from my brother before they passed away. I have no chance of getting any of them back. So blu for you Woofens. Hope the problem is fixed soon.

Tammy we are shooting for the 29th of January. First it was the 9th then the 18th but then we remembered FIL turns 76 on the 27th and it will be the last party we will be able to attend with all of us for awhile. I am sure it will get changed at least one more time before we leave. We still have to sell this house and one of needs to get a job to pay for all of this.

Casey

Santa Fe, TX(Zone 9b)

I think I will back up right now, before I get blu.

Phoenix, MD(Zone 7a)

me too but quick question "how do I back it all up" ? Sorry is that a really dumb question?? So blu... not sure how to do....

Santa Fe, TX(Zone 9b)

I have a second large hard drive in my computer. I back up every thing to that. When I remember.
Tis a blutiful day.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

I don't want to be blu hooing, tell me how to back up my computer too.
There's stuff I don't want to lose. I know the pictures can be put on a CD but what about the other important things.

Santa Fe, TX(Zone 9b)

I think just about every thing can be put on a CD.
Also, you can buy a second hard drive unit, external, and store things on that. Wal Mart has those.
Go blu.

Panhandle, FL(Zone 8a)

Hey blu peeps! Can also use a key, thumb, flash, drive...whatever you want to call them to store stuff temporarily. Just wanted to pop in for a nano second ...I am in a workshop and soon will be asked to get back to work!!
Blu-hoo

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

That might be a good idea Trois, if you back up to a CD though, does it need to be a CDRW?

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

You can purchase flash or thumb drives at Best Buy or any other store that sells electronics that you can just copy any and all your info on to. You can use CD-DVD for this also but it will depend on how big the files are that you are wanting to save. After I lost the pictures I went and purchased a 4GB portable hard drive from Best Buy. It was a couple hundred dollars but after what I lost it was well worth that plus more.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I too would be blu if I lost some of the stuff I have on this thing. Hours of work and lots of pictures...it would just break my heart.
Hey, my favorite color is blu!

Santa Fe, TX(Zone 9b)

I use a 300 GB internal hard drive. It only turns on when I turn it on. It is a great backup device. My grandson installed it and the instructions for its operation.
If you have a DVD burner, the new double sided have 8.5 GB od storage on a single DVD.
I use this to send a lot of pics to certain peeps. Some are not equiped to play these.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Is that internal hard drive expensive?

Santa Fe, TX(Zone 9b)

I don't know. It was a gift. Probably better with an external as it can be moved around, unplugged and so forth.

Phoenix, MD(Zone 7a)

Oh thanks all you blu! I will look into what would work best for me... sure would not want to lose all here either! AND you are right Trois! Go BLU!!!!!!

somewhere, PA

Someday your friendly phone company will be able to provide computer back-up
services, TV/Movies on demand and all sorts of other services. But 'til then... gotta
do it ourselves.

ITs a blu day here! Got another 1.5" of rain overnight. I'm so glad I took a half day
vacation and got the grass mowed. (Took 5hrs and really not all done - I've got a
LOT of grass & love to live in a park-like environment). So far - we've had 14" of
rain since the end of June. No drought this year!!!

Tam

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Oh, Janis!! I'm so sorry! I would be blu, too!!!!

You can get an internal hard drive for around $100. An external one will probably cost another $50 or so. Check the prices at www.newegg.com. They are usually very reasonable.
