Just had to share the lessons I learned this morning - some that only gardeners would understand.
I was supposed to be going to a meeting in our corporate office which got cancelled, so I decided I'd take the opportiunity to work from home and get caught up on emails, paperwork, etc. So far, so good. I left my big baggy sweats on and opened the laptop. This would not be a problem, except for the seemingly unrelated fact that my DH collects antique clocks.
John, the manager of another group called me, and although my boss knows I'm working at home, I didn't want to broadcast the fact so I went outside while I talked to him (away from the clocks chiming all over the house). He wanted to go over the details on a new project, so conversation took longer than I initally thought it would, so I figured I'd work on a little weeding while I talked to him. While I was hunkered over weeding away and having a very "business-like" conversation, a bee got down the back of my sweats and stung me in a rather inconvenient and painful place. I apparently need to fix the elastic in my sweats. I yelped, got off the phone, and ran for the kitchen door. I ripped off the sweats, got the bee out, took off down the hall to get the benedril from the master bathroom, and ran smack into the cleaning lady. She had arrived while I was in the back yard. I dashed into the guest bathroom, asked for my pants back, and looked through the drawers - no benedril.
Lesson 1 - Kill the chimes on the clocks near the office
Lesson 2 - Don't wear baggy pants near bees
Lesson 3 - Check who's in the house before stripping down to a t-shirt and undies in the kitchen
Lesson 4 - Wear granny-panties instead of thongs
Lesson 5 - Keep benedril in the guest bathroom
I found the benedril and changed into jeans, and the cleaning lady can't stop chuckling. I still have to call John back. Lovely start to a Monday.
Lessons Learned
Yep, you certainly were caught with your pants down, LOL What a morning. HOpe the rest of your day goes much calmer. Joann
Hope the bee-hind isn't too sore. Thanks for sharing your story and hope everything is much quieter from here on.
Ann
I can officially say that I had a pain in the butt Monday morning :)
Thankfully by now the benedril has kicked in and I'm back to getting some work done.
So, the little critter got more than he bargained for, eh? All he wanted was a litttle pollen!
Tell your husband this...in 1969 I lived in Germany while my husband was in the military. I bought a Grandfather clock made in 1900 for just $50!!
nap - he'd be so jealous!
