I have heard that newspaper print is toxic to the lasagna gardening process. Is this true or false? Thanks.
lasagna gardening question
False to the best of my knowledge. They use different inks these days. Vegetable based possibly?
most newspapers are now printed with soy based inks, both the black and some colors. If you're concerned, get in touch with your local paper and ask them what they use for inks.
My local paper would agree. This question came up in the gardening column recently. In general though, one would be well advised NOT to use advertising supplements as the paper doesn't necessarily have control over the process used to print them.

Thanks to all three of you.
