Received a pic of the hoped for pup. She is a cutie, and small like Tinker. I hope we can get her and the two of them will be good playmates. Apple bread sounds great Sarv, I'd best grab a piece before it's all gone. Time to shower and head for the Clinic. Hope I can get to see the Doc w/out and appointment. Here's the 'new kid".
Coffee and...Part 33...! :-D
Awww, Robert... she's SO cute!
Bal- which dog = I see two....
Went to the work out joint - they asked how the BD was and I told them - we all laughed at it (in hindsight it is comical) but decided that next year we girls would all go out together - to heck with the males (sorry Bal)
Then I went to take a look see at the armoire that I had my eye on. Walked in and a young snippet sauntered over to help me. I explained that I had been in two weeks ago and looked at a piece and had to take measurements to see if it would fit. However now it was not on sale. I asked if she would match the sale price and she said NO, then I asked when it would go on sale again, as I am in no hurry - I DON"T KNOW she snapped. I politely asked if they had any other pieces similar and she again said NO (in a snotty voice too) I was miffed at her attitude and said "could you tell me who else sells Bassett furniture- I'd like to see if they would be able to help me" - LOL LOL I was chuckling to myself by that time. Of course, so had no idea who else in our big town sold Bassett - give me a break. I did visit several other furniture stores and didn't find anything that I liked more, so I guess I will just bide my time and keep returning and snap it up when it goes on sale. (maybe she doesn't really know as I couldn't find any either!!) BUT, you can believe me, that young snippet will NOT be waiting on me - someone else can get the commission!
Just scarfed down a bowl of left over tortilini with alfredo sauce - man was it rich ...only need a little.
Stopped for a visit at my local garden center, but even they had nothing to tempt me. Must be I have everything!! LOL
M5- good luck on the car thingy - I just hate it when cars need repairs -like paying for a dead horse. But ya gotta have something - mine is about to 100,000, so we need to start looking around.
I bought another pkg of scones - these are lemon poppyseed = y um. Don't take any if you have a drug test coming up LOL
Good luck Bal at the doc.
Who sees dogs????? Shall we start that again?? hehehh
Hap
Shey? are you there?!!
LOL I see two dogs.....are y'all wearing beer goggles? At least the car that needs repairs isn't mine....I'm at !00K on the Toyota but I'm not thinking of replacing it, should be good for at least another 100.
Wooo that puppy in the background is a real sweetie, is she the one?
Gotta go scrounge for something to have for lunch. Freezer's full, frig is empty....maybe a homemade burger with onions.....
meezers and sarv, the way you are talking, no wonder we have a weight-loss challenge thread. lol
BTW, I see two dogs too!
Ann
HI, just popping into say HI, tried to post yesterday, but this old computer had other ideas. Had some nice rain finally, just north of us-poured so hard that friend had to pull off the road..we were lucky.
Have to keep this short. Moka--poodle--not feeling well and we are off to her vet appt, in 10 minutes.
Will try to get my stuffed squash done today, it isn't hot outside, so will be nice to bake-butternut squash with bread/sausage stuffing...
Hugs to all
sarv!
yes!!!! celebrate your birthdays with the girls from
now on! GREAT idea and guaranteed to be a hoot :)
the snippy snippet story is becoming all too common,
everywhere ya go. i always tell the kids about the good old
days when customer service was great and the
humblest of jobs were done with pride. long gone, those
days, i'm afraid.
bal & aria: scotch is the dh's favorite ... and single-malt a must. his
sister brings a supply of glinfiddich (?sp?) from the uk
whenever she comes to visit. it may be available here, too,
i don't know. but they've had this glinfiddich tradition going
for many years. not sure the dh would go for the chamber
music, tho :)
bal: cute pups, both. when will you know if you can have her?
hope those forces are with you - it'll be a lucky dog.
i am dog-tired. i've been staying up way too late since the
dh moved, but still waking up promptly at 6am. saturday's
plant swap was much, much fun. it was 30 miles each way
and it takes a lot of motivation to get me to drive that far :)
so great to be in the same place with other obsessed gardeners. and i ate wayyyy too much of the potluck lunch - everything was delicious. had crawfish turnovers - that's a first! they were fabulous.never thought i'd eat one, ever, tho - used to collect 'em from my grandmother's creek, put them in a mason jar and look at them while i went to sleep. grandma always made me put them back in the creek in the morning, tho. anyway, i've been potting up all the new plants until i decide
where to put them - knowing me, it'll probably be spring when they'
get put in the ground. i'm so indecisive when it comes to planting. i think i think too much. i end up moving things around a lot anyway, so why not just throw them in the ground and let the games begin.
time to take an afternoon snack to the chickens. egg production has spiked from 3-4 a day to 12-13 a day for the last week. nothing like a fresh egg.
have fun, take care, be safe.
marsha
Oops, you're right. I see two and a half pups, but the one I have my eye on is the blue merle in the background. The tri in the fore ground and the sable on the right are litter-mates. Won't know till towards the end of the week, then comes the problem of picking her up from a long ways away if we get her.
Gee Sarv, In situations like that I always go to the owner or at least the store manager and describe the affront. May not change things, but at least my comments are made known. The Doc stuck a needle in the knee joint to draw fluid, but couldn't get anything,so pumped a bit of cortisone in for good measure. Hate to waste a good needle stick! OWCH! New pills should help with the gout. How come my parts don't have a better warranty???
Meezer, The Toy should be good for another 100 thou at least.
MG, Hope Moka is OK
Marsha, Also remember when I pulled into a gas station the young (usually) attendant would come out, ask how much gas you wanted, deliver it, check the water and oil and wash the windshield, and say thank you.How times have changed.
The ear-holder-oner thing fell off my glasses so I guess I better see about getting it repaired. Enjoy the day, for tomorrow will be a bit shorter, but then, the night will be a bit longer.
Good afternoon. Oh, I see it is about dinner time where most of you are. Whatcha having? I need ideas.
I'm taking a break and drinking some of that fresh grape juice. Sarv, I make my juice with one of those steamer pots but somebody else put a bunch in a jar, added a quarter cup of sugar and filled it with water. Then processed it. I can't remember who it was but maybe that person will respond to the request.
Night before last we had some frost in our vegie garden. So far I haven't seen any damage in the flower beds but they are all uphill from the vegies. My tomatoes look pretty sad but I hope the plants will survive long enough to ripen some of the tomatoes. I always ripen a lot of them on a big table in the basement. My season just isn't long enough. The green beans and all the squash type things show some damage too but not enough to kill anything. I hope the butternut squash have the inspiration to ripen so they will keep for the winter. The weather forecast didn't have a frost warning posted and that was the day we went to take the dog back to his family, so I would have been out there about midnight with a flashlite and blankets because I would have had to deal with it after we got home. When we got home at 10:30 the thermometer said almost 40 so I wasn't worried. At 6 the next morning it was 31, so I hoped it wasn't too cold for too long. That's a big drop in temperature in 8 hours for this time of the year. OOPS!!
Marsha, I wish I still had chickens. I enjoyed them and the eggs we got. When we moved here there was no chicken house and we never built one. My neighbor has chickens tho, and gave me eggs last week. What kind of hens do you have?
Going back outside to play........
Ohhhh fresh eggs!! I get them occasionally from the farmer's market, but not often enough Got some brown ones this summer, and they were wonderful...hoarded them for breakfasts and used the old supermarket ones for other things.
Dinner....steak and baked potato, side of fresh sliced tomatoes, need to go shopping no other salad stuff, wait, I have a cucumber from our neighbor. stuffed squash would have been nice but that requires more planning.....lol We're going with DS and DIL to see their new house tonight and measure windows and such, so I wanted to minimize cleanup. So nice out today after our deluge.
Haha, Robert, I remember when we used to hit the Phillips station and buy a quarter's worth of gas, and whiz around all evening in my girlfriend's dad's car! And yes, I fully expect the Toy to run longer than me. My parts aren't guaranteed either....
Hey Marsha, (digginit) do like I do, find a bare spot and stick it in the ground. I have some very odd combinations but it all seems to work out in the end.
Oven's dinging....
I sent emails out to my customers today, giving them last chance to get painting done before I leave town. Already have 2 set up on the calendar now and they've increased the number of rooms they want done.
Dug around looking for heuchera survivors. Only had 1 out of 8 still ticking. I put that, a japanese fern, and 2 hostas in the fridge. Giving them a cold spell and time to go dormant for the move.
My DS took me to dinner tonight for my bd. I had a rare prime rib, baked tater, veggie medley and salad. I am so full I had to come home and put my jammies on.
No work this week, but I have a lot to do to get things organized for the trip next week.
That meal is making me a little sleepy now. Best thing after a big meal is to go lay down and let it settle into any empty spaces.
Molly
:^)))
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOLLY!
Your birthday dinner sounds very good, YUM!
Carol (DR)
I really wanted to go to the Blue Ridge Round-up but had made plans to pick up my brother and his wife in Raliegh (they flew in from Wyoming). I spent 2 days in Raleigh, mostly at the downtown museums and then drove them down to Wilmington, NC where we have family and friends. I stayed in a friends cottage behind her main house at the beach where we hung out and dreamed about boys in the 1960s. Her daughter now owns the house and has enlarged it. I had the cottage to myself. Went swimming 7 times in 4 days, lol.
Hi folks, I have not been on today, cause I have dial up (1 phone line) and have been waiting for the Doctor's office to call. Of course it took all day. Called this morning about 9:00 and the call came at 5:00.
Balvanie, do some people have body parts that are warranted? I don't think any of mine are, and by gosh some are beginning to wear out. Have the carpel tunnel thing going on in the right arm/hand, and yesterday left thumb started acting up. When I bend it, it won't straighten out so, if I forget and bend it I have to take the other hand and straighten it. Sorry about your knee, hope the cortizone injection helps. Dang they do hurt though. The first one I had, I had to go to the bathroom, but they called my about that time. I thought I can wait till I am out of here. Well when the Dr. stuck that needle in my hip joint, I actually peed my pants!!
Viola Ann, geez, sounds like with all the music rehearsals, you don't have much time for anything else!! I know you enjoy it or you wouldn't be involved.
Sarv, celebrating with the girls next year sounds like fun. Just think of something that is really good. Was one DS supposed to shop and the other contribute? Yeah, I know that game too. 1 Brother and 2 sisters always said you buy the gift and we will pay you, yeah, If I have all that money they owe me for gifts I could take a really nice vacation now!! After about 40 years of that, I buy my gift and everybody else does the same. Sarv, I hate it when sales people act like they are doing you a favor just answering questions. I would have reported her to the manager, and you are right, when I went back, I would make sure that She would'nt wait on me.
Oh, Mary, grape juice, and home made at that. I love grape juice and have to settle for the poor substitutes found in the grocery. I buy the Welch's pure juice. It is the best of the store bought. I have a nephew who bought some chickens, he built his own coop, it's not pretty to look at, but guess it serves the purpose. He brought us a dozen eggs last week.
Diggingit, sounds like the plant swap was fun. I know about the stuffed feeling from eating too much. I say I will just taste everything, and at that end up eating way too much. It doesn't matter what time I go to bed, my internal alarm always sounds at the same time each morning. If I stay up till 3:00, am up at 6:30.
Meezer, you must be a great MIL, taking the car for estimates. I have 3 ex-DIL, never got along with any of them until they divorced DS!! Now they all call and chat all the time. Makes DS girl friend jealous, If I happen to let it slip that I talked to one of them.
tgif, we have the real kind of sorghum here in Ky. Every fall, DH can't wait till he finds some for sale. I don't care for it, as it has a strong flavor at least for me. But he says there is nothing better than hot biscuits, butter and sorghum.
Aria, where are you, you are being quiet today.
We had rain last night and today, the gentle kind. About 1". Our day temps are about 80, but they are saying over the weekend the night temps will be about 40. Fall is definately on the way. All of my little hummers left last week. I am keeping 1 feeder out for any straglers that may come through. I enjoyed them so much this summer.
Well, since I haven't been on all day, I am going to check a few other forums.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOLLY. Sounds like you had a really good meal.
tgif, thanks for the smile, wish I had read it earlier, I resolve to give out my smiles tomorrow!!
Carol, thanks again.
Bonnie, thank you and thanks for the card, it was lovely.
Have a very nice day.
Bonnie here's another smile :^)))))))))))
Mary, I posted about making grape juice. As far as I can remember we filled a quart jar about 1/2 to 3/4 full of loose grapes then 1/4 cup of sugar or so to taste. Then filled the jar with boiling water. The thing I can't remember is how long we water bathed them. I also had 2 quart jars and would just increase ingredients. We let them set for a while but I don't remember how long probably a couple of weeks.
DH said he can remember and said that it was good that way, I have never been much of a juice drinker. Water, tea ice/hot and good old diet coke have always been my choices.
Molly.......Happy Birthday to YOU!! I hope you are getting a handle on your upcoming move.
Thank you so much Joyous. Next week things will start moving a little better after my visit up there.
Molly
:^)))
Happy Birthday, Molly! Hope it's been a great day and the year ahead is the best yet. Good going on the e-mail job generation. I hadn't even thought of that when I suggested that you advertise on the web. I'm sure any income at this point will help a lot to make your move a lot smoother. I hope that you are getting more excited by the new opportunities this will open up for you. I tend to be a real depressive, but for some reason this move of yours seems to be generating really positive vibes. Hope it really turns out that way for you!
Diggingit, believe me, I really DON'T expect my husband to provide everything, including "happiness" for me! Since I've always tended to be something of a "loner" that wouldn't work for me at all! He's somewhat the same and we also lived together for ten years before we decided to get married, so I don't think either of us was expecting some kind of fairy tale. On the other hand, I'm NOT prepared to put up with being ignored or belittled, and I feel that not being listened to comes under those headings.
I LOVED the hummingbird story, just forgot to mention it before. I've planted Scarlet Runner Beans and various other things that hummers are supposed to like, but so far they don't seem to be attracted toany of it. Last year I saw one and what do you suppose it was feeding from? Jewelweed! Oh well, "best laid plans" as they say, really seldom work out.
Good luck with the knee, balvenie. I hope it doesn't slow you down too much. My husband and I tried to repair part of a bathroom ceiling today. What a comedy of errors! I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in both wrists and Mike is a total spaz when it comes to home repair, so you should have seen the two of us trying to hold a piece of sheetrock over our heads and attach it to the lathwork. I'm surprised we're both still intact.
Aria, yes, it's actually been a bit chilly a few days lately. I wore my sandals last Friday and wished I hadn't! I don't really mind Fall coming in, it's my favorite time of the year; however, it would be nice to have enough warm weather to ripen more of the tomatoes and a few more of the zucchini that I planted a bit late. I was glad to hear the rain pattering outside today. We've been a bit too dry here. Has it been the same in your neighborhood? I think that you're at a considerably higher altitude than I am even though it 's the same state.
Somebody asked what was being served for supper. In this household it was left-over night. We seemed to have just a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Mom had meatloaf, Mike had a chicken and veggie stew, and I had pan seared pork tenderloin. We hate to end up wasting food, so this worked out pretty well.
Apologies to anyone I didn't respond to. Brain is probably working at half speed at this point. Goodnight to all.
Happy Birthday Molly. Hope you had a great day.
defoecat, you're right. When OSO has a concert, it's non-stop rehearsals the weekend before. It isn't usually concentrated on two weekends like this one has been. But after many years with this huge community orchestra it is actually beginning to PAY reasonably well now. ;-)
Here's the English home page.
http://www.ottawasymphony.com/eng_home.html
There's a fuzzy pic of the orchestra. I'm immediately above the right side of the conductor's picture.
The other thing I do, at least for a few more months is run the local Emergency Food Cupboard. A local paper ran a story a few days ago about my impending retirement.
http://www.neighbourhoodnews.ca/297653489560845.php
When I quite the Food Cupboard, I'll have LOTS of time for music. ;-)
We had a couple of inches of rain today. Much needed and hopefully some of it got soaked in. It will help settle my piles of dirt. Supposed to be nice tomorrow; so I hope I can find time to get in the garden a bit .
Good night all.
Ann
HI and happy birthday Molly.
Spent a couple of hours at the vets-mostly waiting to get to x-rays. Saw some amazing canines while we waited. Moka hadn't eaten anything that had gotten lodged-just seems to have picked up a bug. She got plain rice for dinner!
Get so worried when one of the furkids get sick..feel helpless-would rather be sick myself-at least I can complain loudly!!!
Have a good week all.
Happy Birthday Molly!!
We had mac & cheese for dinner since Nathan cooked it. I'm on the couch again today. I spent yesterday wading thru Jenna's room, she is such a pack rat. 1 1/2 garbage bags + 2 paper bags full of recycle papers. And her room didn't look all that bad untill you looked in the closet and under the bed, lol.
I had to go out front and remove one of the edger stones from the hosta bed yesterday. It started raining sat am and by last night we had over 3 inches. My hosta bed was underwater. We had grey skies all day untill just before the sun went down. Supposed to get colder this week, down to lower 40's at night.
'nuff for now, night everyone!
mg
Did I miss birthday cake? Nice of your son to take you out for prime rib, Molly, sounds like you had a nice dinner. Nice son too!! Happy birthday, a day late! Sounds like your plans are falling into place for the big move...always good to have extra cash so the work will help make it easier.
Toured the "new" house with DS last night, sellers are very upbeat friendly people, didn't mind our prowling around. House is in excellent condition, and well kept up. Kids will rattle around for a bit but I'm sure it won't take long for them get used to the extra space. Lots of storage. Kitchen is small but efficient, and since neither of them are big on cooking it will be o.k.
Nice articles on your food cupboard reign, Ann. That was a labor of love, and you've done well at it. They will miss your guiding hand. And you'll enjoy the free time...although those of us who have retired from full time work wonder where all the free time has gone to. Everyone I know is busy all day....maybe we are just more efficient when we have a set schedule. I've gotten to be a master procrastinator,
MG I'm always amazed at how neat my daughter's keep their homes, with my past memories of discoveries in closets and under beds. Their idea of a clean room and mine were so far apart they bore no resemblance to each other. It came to a head once when DD# 1 complained that something smelled bad. When we moved her bed, we discovered that our outdoor cat had stashed a dead bird in her inner spring through a tear in the fabric. That was the end of clutter under her bed, as she was so afraid he would do it again, she turned it over every week!
Moka's going to be fine, what a relief. I get all unraveled when any of our "kids" is under the weather. Robert, when will you know for sure about your new girl? She's so bright eyed and just adorable. Will Tink give her rug chewing lessons? LOL
WS,my DS is right outside Wilmington, so if I get out there for a visit, we'll have to get together! They like the area a lot, just sold their little ranch for an obscene amount of money (builder bought it for the land) and bought another newer one not far away.
Weight loss challenge? Pshaw. No challenge at all , I just ignore it. Snotty salesclerks!! Years ago, before I worked full time, I used to take jobs over the holidays at department stores In our orientation meetings they always stressed customer service, and no matter what the customer was wearing, ( such as not being well dressed) or what was requested we were to be polite and helpful. Evidently that is no longer a training criteria. When I run into a clerk like that, I tell the manager about it, because in many cases the customer will not come back. Later, I found a vast difference in how I was treated in stores whether I was dressed in a suit for work, or wearing weekend jeans and tennies. Little subconscious judgements ....that shouldn't be made, particularly by a minimum/working on commission sales person. (Sarv, this isn't to infer that you weren't dressed well, just a rant on poor customer service...)
Coffee is done, and I need some. Hi to everyone I haven't mentioned specifically, and a sunny day to all.
Happy BD Molly - yum dinner sounds good!! Glad the DS treated ya good!!
M5- I was dressed nicely - not in heels and a suit, but a chic workout outfit. Hair done and lipstick on. I think the sales gal was just green and didn't know her stock well. For instance, I asked what size the "other" knobs were- she didn't know. Then I asked what color they were- she didn't know. I'll go back as I can't find the chest in this area and with gas prices thru the roof, I don't want to drive all over the state looking.
Bal- hope the shot works. I am thinking about returning to the doc about my arm - took the steroid stuff and it felt wonderful, but the nasty pain is back and it is annoying. I ate a whole container of poppy seed scones yesterday (yes you read that right - all of them!) and felt just awful in the evening. I felt like I was gonna fly away - my chest hurt etc. DO you think I od'ed on poppy seeds? I will never do that again...
Defoe- always were pads....LOL Ouch that shot must have hurt for you to piddle!! I remember being in the dentist chair thinking- I am gonna wet all over if I don't get outta here!! How can you move with your mouth pried open and oxygen strapped to your face. I never go there without 'protection' LOL LOL Ya, one son was shopping for the others - bad idea. One DIL apologized and said they wouldn't do that again.
This year I am gonna fill the jar to the top with grapes, add 1/4 c sugar and then water. Wish I could afford one of those 'm' things (can't remember the name!!)
VI- my whole life has been a weight challenge- I just love food and seldom deprive myself of it!! One of lifes little pleasures..
Gonna be a nice day here - sun is just coming up. I gotta move today - I am spending too much time on here!! Chores for the day: dishes, beds made, general pickup, and clean out the car (I could live in there) and of course the work out joint - tonight I have to drive an hour for a funeral parlor visit. Hate to do that, but sometimes ya just gotta go to those things.
Good moring every one! Goodness, cannot keep up with you guys, all of you are so busy with so many things.
First of all, Molly, a very happy belated birthday to you, nice to have dinner with your son and a good meal at that.
Ann, I so miss going to live concerts and the opera, of course there is a lot of that in Boston but can't imagine getting there by myself any more , in Vienna I just had to walk across the street or take the underground, now I have to content my self to disks, oh well ...
Sorry about you knee, Robert, hope it is better now. I think shelties are just great dogs, my BIL who lives in NH, has one she is such a very nice animal, very obedient and always well behaved.
Sarv, you are a scream, how could you eat all those scones? You remind me me of a naughty child that ate the whole bag of candy and got sick, LOL
McCool, I live only a half hour by flat as a pancake around herecar from the atlantic ocean, flat as a pancake around here.
Yesterday , I vistited friends all day just to gossip and drinking coffee, it was fun for a change instead of being alone all day.
M5, your childrens house sounds very nice wishing them all the happiness there is.
I have an appointment with my Dr., the internist today, what fun! Hate it when they poke you all over the body, to tell you the truth I prefer going to the dentist.
See you later
Maria
edited to change defoe to Sarv, forry , Defoe!!!

Sarv, you could always check with your Cooperative Extension Service my friend used to borrow the mehu mia (sp) that just shot out the straight juice. I have not heard of the type that is common now. I quite canning when we helped start NYS's first farm and craft market.
I do know that the juice may not be as strong the way I explained as when you use the steamer type machines. We were happy with our way, but didn't have a vehicle to ram for things like that. Man, I almost long for the days when I had to stay home because we only had one car and DH took it to work. Now I seem to have a reason to go almost every day! Speaking of......I'm off, I'm off for a very fun day with one of the other vendors at our market.
Have a great day everyone, we had half an inch of rain yesterday and today looks beautiful.
Joy
Good morning. Molly, I'm sorry to have missed your birthday. You have my permission to celebrate again.
The juicer steamer thing I have is a Mehu-Liisa brand, made in Finland. I got it for Christmas a few years ago. My husband ordered it out of the Lehman's catalog. Recently I saw that same type of thing at our local discount store for about 2/3 what he paid for it so if you look for one I bet you could find it. Just save your change in a big jar and when you have about a quart of coins you will have enough to buy it. Painless! Last time I took the coins to the bank I had about $85 with less than a quart. My bank has a machine that sorts and counts them so they don't want them rolled anymore. Counting and rolling coins was something the kids and I did on long winter evenings when reading or assembling a jigsaw puzzle was making our eyes cross. You could probably find steamer/juicers on ebay, too, they have everything else. Last year I bought a stovetop espresso maker for my daughter in law for Christmas, total cost was about $25 including the shipping for something that costs 3-4 times that new in a kitchen specialty shop.
The sky is just getting light and the clouds look dark against it. I think the sunrise will be a pretty one. Last evening the sunset was very bright but I didn't get a picture since I was at the neighbors doing chores for him and got back home just in time to feed my horses before it was dark. The owls were already awake when I got home.
Yesterday I was watching a coyote hunting mice in our pasture. I see him almost every day and hope the cats don't get into his territory and become dinner. There are a couple of red foxes that I see pretty often in the neighbor's pastures, they are so pretty and can really run fast. They all get panicy when they are caught out in the open and make a dash for some kind of weed patch where they can hide. The coyotes run in a straight line but the foxes zigzag. And there you have the wildlife report!
Have a great day everyone, count your blessings.
Joy, I hope that you had a great time today. Several days ago you mentioned about throwing out magazines. Please reconsider and give them to a local nursing home or school. If they don't read them, they use them for crafts. They will give you many kisses...lol
Hap
Mary - I looked for the juicer thing you had, but it was very pricey. Not sure if I really want to invest that much. I wish our bank had a roller thing. I had a ton of change and asked them what to do and they handed me a bunch of coin envelopes!! How can they be sure I have the correct amount in them? They told me not to even put my name or acct. number on the coins. My mom and I rolled $195 worth and she found a quarter in her shoe when she got home. Oh glory - I am not going to recount all the quarters now!! Oh well, I still haven't taken the coins to the bank.
Interesting about the wildlife. They are bulldozing all the woods/fields behind our house to put in a industrial park. So so sad. We used to sit in the back and watch the deer frolicking around. This summer we haven't seen one single deer. One fox tho. Guess we'll have to be content watching those nasty woodchucks. yuck.
It is glorious outside, so I need to sign off and go out and enjoy the day!!
Sarv, I just checked ebay for steamer juicer and came up with a whole page of them. Have a look. Lol at the quarter in your mom's shoe. I wouldn't recount them either. There might be an extra quarter in one of the rolls to make up for the short one. Maybe they weigh them?? I'm surprised that your bank doesn't have a coin counting machine, when we have had it out here in Podunk for quite a few. Maybe try a different bank....
Remember to pray for Darius, it is her day at the lung specialist.
Afternoon Gobs and gobettes, lol, I love that, makes me think of jawbreakers.
Not much on the round toit list today, I'm still taking it easy on my back. I've run the paper shredder all morning, I'm trying to find my desk. I know it's under here somewhere, sheesh.
I'm cleaning my hummer feeders, they are soaking in the sink. I had to pour out more dead bees than I have all summer. What is up with that? Eww.
I'm still trying to get a pic of my finger sitter. She buzzed me when I was taking the feeders down, and she keeps looking in the window to see if I'm done yet. I can tell it is the same one, she is half the size of the other females. I don't know if she is a hatchling from this year, or just tiny. Still not seeing any males, I think I only saw a male 2 or 3 times all summer. Same 5 females hanging around tho.

I'm a gobette! I love that..... ;-)
Not much on my round to it either.....except here at work - always something on the list.
I was home yesterday suffering from what I call a gall bladder attack. This is the fourth one this year....I'm going to a G.I. as soon as I can get an appointment. I don't have stones, but just these painful bouts with it - especially after rich food and drink (which I did Saturday night). So - I was still puny yesterday and stayed home to rest. Hard to get comfortable with it - and if you've ever had the problem you know what I mean....
So - cooler here today - yeah - but can't be out in it :-( Maybe after work I'll be able to get home and do some things.....or at least sit out on the porch and read the paper or something.
Hope everyone's having a blessed day!
Marcia
BB - had mine out last Oct- had an absolute terrible attack - I thought I was dying with a heart attack. Get it taken out if you can - you'll feel much better. I still can't eat rich foods - they go right thru me if ya know what I mean!! Looking back, I must have had trouble with the GB for years and just thought it was indigestion - I tell ya, I ate bottles of tums.
Mary - I typed in the one you had - the 'm' one and got nothing. I tell ya, I have the worse luck finding things on the computer!! I have one batch in the canner as I type . I filled the jar almost full with grapes, added 1/4 c sugar and filled with boiling water. We'll see if it is good or not! I have a ton of grapes this year. Have you ever made grape pie? It is almost identical to blueberry pie. Think I will make one tomorrow as a treat.
I'm surprised at our bank too - I thought it was kinda 'up and coming'. But when I take a look at what those gals wear =- I think jeans to NOT belong in a bank. Guess Im old fashioned...
Going out to pick another bunch of grapes..
Mary, I just went to ebay and typed in steamer canner and it came up with 0 items. What did I do wrong? Could you give me a hand? I'd love to find one!!
A very heartfelt belated thank you for the birthday wishes to McCool, ViolaAnn,MarciaG, Mornin_Gayle, M5, Sarv, Aria and MaryE. This is such a great place to celebrate a birthday, everyone is so warm and generous.
That emailing certainly did some more good. I have yet 2 more customers that need to painting done before I leave. My next plan of attack when the time is drawing nearer is to get my business card and referral letters to some realtors and contractors up in my new area. Realtors hire me to do a decent paint job to make a house more sellable and of course with the growth in the area, new houses are coming up all the time and will need painting.
McCool, I am glad you are having some good vibes about this move. If that feeling changes please give me some warning. My own vibes go up and down so I considered myself to be quite unreliable in that department. Tomorrow I may be in tears.
Thanks again yall.
Molly
:^)))
Thanks Hap will reconsider!! Had a great time, we checked out all her plants and decided what I could get cuttings or babies of next year. Now I am fired up to go play in the dirt, especially after the rain yesterday.

Marcia, I have GB problems too. Mine is due to the enzymes secreted, not stones. I was having soo much problems I ended up at the U of Iowa hospitals. After tons of blood work, endoscopy, a nuclear test and the barium thing, we discovered it was 2 different things. The enzymes and I had a major problem about 8 inches down. She was born 7 months later ;-) There isn't a synthetic alternitive available yet so I just keep loosing food choices. I rate foods on a suffer factor. Is this really good enough to suffer for it later?
Sarv, I eat enough tums everyday that when I die, I'll leave my own chalk outline.
Molly, I have great vibes about your move.
mg
MG you just cracked me up. Your own chalk outline!!
Aria, it wasn't me who ate the whole thing!! I think it was Sarv. I have been known to do that ocassionally, but not this time. Molly, I think that everything will work out for you. Sending the e-mails was a great idea. So now you can take advantage of some extra cash to make the move!!
On the wildlife front, we have 26 acres, and when we sit on the back deck, see all kinds of critters. Deer, fox, wild turkey, of course if our dogs see them the chase is on. They never catch anything, but they never get tired of trying.
Well had my 6 month check up for the macular degeneration. Eyesight has changed dramatically in that period of time. New prescription for glasses, and now will be seeing Optomotrist ?? every 3 months. The time for radical treatment may be near. He said that there are more treatment options than there used to be, but nothing to restore lost vision. I think that is why I have had such an urgency to plan and plant and enjoy this year. A seeing eye dog will not be able to describe my gardens to me. I jest, about that, hope it never comes to that, but who knows?
Viola Ann, good articles!! You are gonna be missed after you retire.
Marcia, so glad the fur kid is okay. I have 2 cats and 1 Jack Russell, and believe me I know what you are saying about worrying about their health. My best friend and I had a discussion about our dogs just last Wednesday, we both said we didn't know what we would do if something happened to them. She called me Friday morning saying that her cocker was killed by a motorcycle Thursday night. I had to go into town, so I bought her a little gift, came home and collected flowers from my garden, and took them to her. We just sat and cried together. So sad!!
Well I have to get rump in gear and make some preparations for the evening meal. Will check in again later.
