Coffee and...Part 31...! :-D

Bloomingdale, OH(Zone 6a)

I"m back from the dr. Service One is here to fix the water heater, I hope it can be resurrected cheaply, lol. I can't do dishes, I can't do laundry, poor poor me, lol. Suppose I should wade thru the papers piled on my desk. It's hitting fire hazard status. And who left all these pop cans and bottles laying around? My goodness, there's that school form I was looking for last week!

Time to run the shredder and drive the dog nuts, she hates that noise. heh heh heh

The kids get out of school early today. They get out early at least 1 wednesday a month for teacher training. Happy happy joy joy.

Happy anniversary Sarv!!

Scotch Eggs - now theres an idea! Problem - sausage meat over here isn't the same as in the UK - guess I'll have to improvise. For those that don't know that is a hard boiled egg, shelled, wrapped in sausage meat, rolled in breadcrumbs and deep fried. eaten cold with salad - lovely!
Ther'e a secret to Shandy - its disgusting made with lager, which is akin to American beers, or even mild beerbut if you have it made with bitter beer then it has a distinct bite to the taste. I love it - not as heavy as a lager but very refreshing.
Never met a Bedfordshire Clanger though there is a beer by that name!!
I think its a recent invention, only reference I can find on the web talks about it being eaten with custard on the sweet end and gravy on the meat end. Now that isn't going to work for someone out in the fields is it - it would be near impossible to organise in a kitchen!!
spent last night dreaming about Yorkshire pudding and apple pie with Wenslydale cheese, another Yorkshire favourite. You have the Yorkshire pud with gravy as a first course by tradition. Reason - helps to give that full feeling so you won't need so much of the roast meat that follows. Economy again!!
Loved that poem M5 - I might just steal it too!!
looks like I won't be flying anywhere on Sunday - Rita looks as though she is heading our way. NOAA still forcasts a tropical storm as she crosses here on Sunday, which means the airport will be shut. Looks as though I may have to spend my 41st anniversary at home after all!!
Well i suppose that means they can come in and sort that leak next week instead of the week after. Every cloud and all that!
Off back to the Rita forum now, see y'all later.

Well Ladies,

I finally got enough 4:00 seeds together to ship out. I dropped them at the post office this morning. You should get them soon and I hope you enjoy them.

Now, I need to gather some more to take to my new place. With 5 acres, I can grow as many as I like.

Molly, 4 O'clock seeds? Would you like "Broken Colors"? I've been collecting them this week. I'd be happy to send you some, and I have mixed colors too, fuschia, orange, yellow, white ones too. I'm trying to keep the "BC's" seperate from the mixed, but who knows what I'll get, lol.

MG,

You mean 4:00's other than pink or white? I would love that. Anything special you are looking for to grow next spring? I have a basket of seeds, haven't taken any inventory lately, but you name somethings and I'll see if I have any.

MG,

Those are beeoootiful!!! Do you have any of the striped (both colors) ones to spare? I have some more seeds of the whites and of course the pinks.

sure Molly, I will have plenty, they are still blooming and setting seeds like crazy. I know they have dropped enough seeds to cover the area where they are, so everything I've been collecting is for friends like you since that is about all I have. I can't seem to get seed pods off any of my MGs.

Now, consider yourself warned, 4 o'clocks are very invasive, ppl have been posting about trying to get rid of them for years. But I like them, so I don't care.

As far as trading,,,well, I like anything blue or pink or purple that grows in full sun. Height doesn't matter, I have an expanding bed and I can work with anything. If butterflies or hummers like it, that is bonus. I haven't traded sucessfully before, but I have a celosia trade in the works. I've read the trading primer several times, but I'm still unsure on how much seed to send. Any help there would be appreciated.

Maybe we should take this to dmail? I don't want to take up space on a thread for private stuff, altho if anyone else is interested in the "Broken Colors", LMK. BTW, I originally bought them at a feed store, lol.

Good idea MG, sending you a dmail momentarily.

Aww heck, we talk about everything here anyway. I'd love some Broken colors, I'm hoping to fill the bed between the black walnuts and invasive would be fine with me, as nothing seems to thrive there. Dug out some rudbeckia and will see how that will do but 4 o'clocks would help to fill the spaces. Glad to send postage for them, if you have some to share.

Movie this afternoon. Almost Heaven, really cute, and you could take your kids and not be worried about language etc. Not a guy movie though. No cars, no shooting, no space monsters! Senior popcorn and soda pop, anniversary special for the theatre chain, a buck each. Just enough to munch on.

Anyone who wants to use my doggerel, feel free, just make sure it's got my name attached as some day I hope to put together a collection of the silly stuff I've written. Author: Sheila R. DiUlio Other than that, spread it around, I'm sure there's more than a few disgruntled Xmas Scrooges who would enjoy it.

Kinda hot here too. I put the AC on this morning because once it heats up in here it takes too long to cool down. Not that I'm cooking. Leftovers from Tuesday, and dessert from last night. Any body for banana cream pie?....it'll be weepy by tomorrow so today is it's last day on earth.

Now Sheila, we wouldn't want that pie to get runny, I shall have some over here, my favorite!

I made some calls today to the county about permits and things for my property. They spend a whole lot of time transferring you to people that really aren't the right ones to talk to. In the end, they say, come in and pick up the "Packet". But, I say, I am in Ft Lauderdale and won't be able to come up til Oct. Can you send it? No we don't do that, you have to come in and pick it up.

Bronson Fl is the place in Levy County (county seat?) where the gov't offices are. Population -1000. I think they have more telephone numbers in the county offices than the city has people. And they will all probly meet at the local "hitchin post" and sit and laugh at the dumb broad from Ft Lauderdale tonight.

I can't even get on the 2 month+ waiting list for well and septic until I get the permits worked out. I also have to give them a floor plan of the dwelling, along with some other proof of ownership documents. I haven't even got the dwelling (mobile home) yet and won't be able to until I go up there, minimum.

I'm getting ready to become overwhelmed now.

Well, can't do anything more tonight, might as well go play cards.
