I can see now, how deep the love for me runs, how completely worried you are all for me, how strongly you want my children to be taken care of. What is DG coming too? Now even Joy wants to deprive me of a lovely visit with Darius. All you think about is you, you and you.

I guess I bid $200. LOL

Himrod, NY(Zone 6a)

BS come east and join us........the more the merrier. I could get into having those cuties of yours around. I too would like to have a supply of what ever keeps you going! You have done more yard work over a weekend than I have all summer.

Let the bidding continue, I bid..............more than Badseed.

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

Fine, 200.01 and I have a pool and spa.

Himrod, NY(Zone 6a)

Casey, that's my bid! You must bid 200.02 and a pool and a spa.

I have about a dozen wineries with in 10........so there, as I climb in my big rocking chair and suck my thumb.

Weep, weep........dh says time to turn puter off.... 5:30 am comes early.

night night sleep tight.......

Yep, looks like you all want to play dirty.....

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

Okay, I don't have the wineries true. I have the wine and that is what is important. Whatcha got Chele???? I am seeing Joy's winery with bottled wine and I am throwing in a field trip to Valley of Fire to locate seeds I know she can't find in the Carolina's......

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

LOL, I love y'all fighting over me. You should be glad Molly is without Power due to Hurricane Wilma right now!

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

Darius, I don't think I want to be glad about that but I do think she would be a heavy contender in the battle. I am having a hard enough time with the bobcat woman. But I am willing to allow Molly to have you for a while first. She has a rough year and you can hone your skills before I set you to work for me. LOL

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

LOL, Molly will be upset, and raise the bid, I betcha!

Albany, OR(Zone 8a)

I definitely agree! Molly will surely bid fairly high!
I wished I could bid but being on the other side of the US makes it a little harder.
But you guys need to look at it this way. Who needs Darius the most right now???

I'll see that and raise you "The House on the Rock"

Among other things Darius, would you want to see the The World's Largest Carousel?

"WORLD'S LARGEST CAROUSEL: Unveiled Easter weekend of 1981. This is the largest carousel in history with over 20,000 lights and 269 handcrafted carousel animals – not one a horse! It is 35 feet tall, 80 feet wide and weighs 35 tons. It is valued at nearly $4.5 million."

Hey! I'm only worth $200.02 plus amenities or wine tours??? Gimme a break!

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

Darius, we are poor folk, and are scrounging what we can here. This is not what you are worth its what we can afford......

I got to back out if we are bidding on worth..... I am trying to buy a home......

Bloomingdale, OH(Zone 6a)

How do you write a check for Priceless?

Himrod, NY(Zone 6a)

Molly, I am sorry to hear how badly Ft. Lauderdale was hit. I am also surprised. I really didn't think Wilma would be that bad, and after Katrina and Rita, you all seemed to be experts with storms, but who knew it would become a cat 3? and the east coast would take the brunt? I thought it had spent itself in Cancun, but I'll never make assumptions about a storm again. I fared well, just a lot of noise and rain. I was battered worse by Jeanne last year.

I can help you in December.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I am sure when Molly comes back and sees this post and what has become of it, she will be glad she didn't have electricity!

My final offer for Darius is $249.99. If Molly needs her before me, then I'll buy her a couple of weeks at that price. :)

Ain't nobody can top the amount of WHINE at my place! LOL

fireant, glad to hear you fared okay. They have been showing the storm and people here on the news. No one expected it would be bad. Some people even weathered the storm on boats! Good grief!

Himrod, NY(Zone 6a)

I sure hope everyone sees our posts as just posts and that we all have the people who are being inundated by all this weather constantly in our thoughts and prayers. Some times you just need to blow off a little steam and I think we did that last night. Pressure valves are on our canners for a reason! Who wants to clean the explosions off the walls!

Badseed !!!!! You are bad indeed! "NO body loves me, everybody hates me, might as well go.........eat worms/drink WHINE! :')))

Joy-----who must get something/anything done today!!

Crossville, TN

Badseed...when my kids used to whine...I would say..."Come here and let me spank you...I rather hear you CRY than WHINE!!" Worked every time too. LOL Jo

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

Glad to be hearing that Molly is ok in spite of the latest hurricane. Won't she be surprised when she comes back and catches up on this thread. Hurricane season runs into November, haven't those people suffered enough?

Bribing Darius with booze and foliage seems to me to be unfair, and I know she is an honorable person and far above that sort of shallow temptation. Maybe. Depends on the wine........LOL

The only thing I know for sure is she is way to smart to come anywhere near the midwest in winter..............

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Y'all.... this has been fun and made me smile! I told Molly about it last night when we talked and she laughed too. HEY... what else can you do when the whole city is dark and there's no water either?

(Zone 9a)

I've heard of people staying on boats during a hurricane, Badseed, but I'll never understand them. Unless they take the boat clear away from the storm, it doesn't make sense to ride one through a storm. They must have some strong stomachs or a lot of that wine you've all been talking about.

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

I would need something alot stronger then wine and just hook me up to an IV before we load on the boat.
I agree the weather has been so cruel and harsh this year. I am very thankful that we have been hearing from all our friends and that they have all fair well. The worse has been a tree falling on the garage of a home and both the garage and the car are a total loss. Detatched garage so no real severe damage to the house.

Rainy and cool here today. Its a steady rain so no severe flooding as of yet. So long as it doesn't get harder or last throughout the night we should do well with this one.

Hope everyone is having the best day they can.

Casey

Update on Molly:

I talked to her tonight. They are without water and power. Power could be up to a month getting back on. Meanwhile, she and Jeremy (her grown son) dug up LOTS of plants today that she will be taking to her new place up near Gainesville, FL... maybe even this weekend because the mobile may get set Friday. Still have to get elec, a well drilled, and a septic system. Her brother may bring her a generator.

Hopefully after they are out of the worst storm area, they will find water, ice and gasolne!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Darius, thank you for the updates on Molly. I keep seeing the blurbs on tv about the flooding and damage down there and the power lines down and telephone poles actually broken in half. Even though we have been joking and cutting up here, I am worried about her. I guess if I was gonna be without electricity, I'd rather it be in Florida than here right now but I know it is bad no matter where you are! I bet they are really getting a lot done despite the conditions. If someone would pull the plug on this computer, I would probably brave the cold to get more done. LOL Send her hugs from me.

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

I stopped in last night after db and dsil went to bed and did a little catching up here. I read some, but it was too dark to type much.

My my, yall have been really busy. All I can say is this.....Darius comes down here for the winter and yall can have her for the summer. It will keep her out of hurricane alley for the next season. Then after the summer, she can come back to stay at my place and rest after yall finish tugging at her. (Darius, hope you don't mind us talking about you in front of your back)

My db and dsil brought us a generator and gas so we have power for part of the days. They said we can keep it as long as we need it, which I'll write more about later below. They also brought us food, coffee, ice and beer and we had a lovely visit. It's been months since we had this chance.

DB has volunteered to come to the property to help with the hook up work on the utilities and that should save me some money. Also to help with constructing the decks and fencing. They went away with the pick up loaded with daylilies and hostas to babysit until we get moved up there. That saves me a load on the plants.

The trailer is not yet moved to the property. There are some other permits needed before that can be done, but I made a decision on changing my move date from 12/31 to 11/30, a month earlier. Landlord has agreed to give me back a months rent and that will help a lot.

I also decided to move using "PODS". They will bring an 8X8X16 foot container to my house on 11/15. We can load it at our leisure and they will pick it up on 11/26. They will then transport it north to my property, drop it off, we will unload it and then they return to pick the container up. Just a stroke of luck that on 11/1 they are just starting to service my new area.

I can get all my furniture, household goods, appliances etc, tools, business equipment and hardscape into this container. All I have to do is finish moving my plants, animals and take 2 mattresses to sleep on in both places while my stuff is in transit.

I think I will take another trip up there with a load of plants as soon as my electric is restored in this house. (I hope soon)

My db has said I can use the generator as long as I need it. I may need it at the trailer for a bit while I am waiting for the electric to be brought in to the pole at the new place.

In the meantime, all my plants have been pretty well beaten down, but not killed by Wilma. Jeremy and I have spent a couple days getting more plants potted up and ready to go as well as gathering seeds from many to avoid having to transport and cuttings from my larger brugs for rooting.

I think I will spread some rye grass seed in the areas that I have removed plants to make things look a bit better for the sale of the house. Rye is cheap and if the landlord is cooperating, I shall be nice. BTW, we discussed this move the night before Wilma visited. He said the house wouldn't sell for about 4 months then I would have 2 more months to move. I said, no, I am sorry Evio but I can no longer let my life be guided by other people. I have to take control and set my own course in my own time. And that is what I am doing.

I haven't looked at a television for at least a week. I think I shall go waste some time doing that before the generator has to be turned off. (much too noisey to sleep with it on)

Yay, Molly!!! Sure moving in the right direction!

Everglades, FL(Zone 10a)

I can't read the entire thread- elec in and out.

Darius- I HOPE you will spend time with me. This is very barbaric but beautiful.

Molly- What ever I have is yours!

All you that don't know----Molly is amazingly giving and loving. She is a super special person and goes as far as she can to reach out to help you. My experience (well my best- she does alot of good), She literally swept me off my feet with a challenged pup. Another DG'er (corky59) offered to adopt a pit pup with disabilities. My hubby wanted to put her to sleep, thinking she cannot survive in our harsh environment. Corky offered to save her.

Molly came, picked me up and we went north to Marilynne (corky) to bring her, her new precious baby. I only met Molly once and she was there for me. It was a teary experience that will forever bring tears to my eyes. Marilynne & Leonard gave my doomed baby girl a princess life and Molly delivered it.

Y'all get together and give Molly everything you can- she deserves it.

Writing this is making me cry. Between the amazing heart of Molly and the outcome of the pup, Lucy James, I can't be grateful enough. I found true angels at DG!

Please, please everyone that reads this- let's fix up Molly's new property!!! She deserves it.

Molly- I got ya (no trade) a package of plants for your property!!!!!!!

See ya at the RU!

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Carol,

Oh my dear friend. I wish we could have spent some time together or at least talked when you were in town, but as we know, the wind hit the fan when you were here.

You are so very generous with the your kind words and offers of plants. I also have some plants, tropicals that you may wish to have before I leave. Tropicals that will do well out in the glades farm. I tooks lots of brug cuttings if you care to have some, morning glory bush and if you weren't able to germinate any of those bauhinias, I have some seedlings to share with you.

I know your farm didn't fare well either. Let's talk soon.
