Ron,
You're too sharp for me...lol
I never changed my label on the plant and I forgot.
sorrrrry. Just made myself a new label.
On this bloom
http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=1752611
I think a better description of colors would be 'Plum and Lilac or Lavender'.
I'll post some photos from this morning when I download them and you
can tell me how you would describe the colors.
Only the darker part of the bloom seems to be more of a solid color.
Also,
"Emma - the pink purp from France...looks like your on your way to a new ' Joys Cabal' there..."
What does this mean? Is this the name of these blooms?

Janis,
Little Jeff is a cutie.

Sandy,
This photo of your Shuin "Purple Clouds"
http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=1754132
Could this possibly be what I have growing.
Lost my tag on this one - and I'm pretty positive that I planted seeds labeled 'Shuin'
I'll need to take some better pictures showing all angles.

Laurrie,
Thanks for sharing.
Your 'Plum Frost' blooms are absolutely gorgeous. I think this vine is one of the prettiest of seeds from PF yet.

. . . . .JOSEPH SAYS HELLO TO EVERYONE. . . . .

I just spoke to Joseph on the phone. He is in Houston working for probably one more week, so thought I'd pass his message along to everyone.

Oh Moby,
That is one incredible beauty.
Hope someone knows the name
An absolute keeper.

Ron,
Here are blooms from this morning from 'Henka Blue Type' that is a Plum/Lilac or Lavender color that you like.

Actually the lighter area is more of a 'frosty' color for lack of knowing how to describe better. Maybe you can tell more from the photos that I can explain the colors.

that is a 'Bright Fuchsia Color'.

Another new vine from 'Henka Blue Type'
and I have absolutely no idea what to call this color.
So for now I'll call it a 'Smoky Plum'.

Wow, I have been gone a couple of weeks and I miss several hundred MG posts. Emma, you sure stay busy!

I've got more than a few photos. The Lavander Moon Vine from seeds that Florida Girl sent me last year finally bloomed. I'll get it up my the website soon.

Hi Kevin,
Busy is an understatement...lol
Good to have you back.

Your Lavender MF Vine from Mildred is so beutiful. Mine has buds, but no blooms yet. Any day now.
And, your I. alba is a beautiful photo. You can see the 'Yellow stars' so clearly. Can't remember how Ron described this, but you can definitely tell it in your blooms. Very Nice!

Goodlettsville, TN(Zone 6a)

Emma,
That I. alba photo is the first where I was able to get the 'Yellow stars' to really show up.

For anyone who is interested in photography:
That photo was taken at night with no flash. The only light is from a streetlamp down the road. Something about the very long exposure brought out the yellow color.

Goodlettsville, TN(Zone 6a)

More of interest to photographers:
Here is another photo of the same Ipomoea alba blooms taken a minute before the one above. This time using a flash.

Willoughby, OH(Zone 5a)

Found this darling little volunteer under my deck. No bigger than a quarter. Looks like I. herderacea, but with much more violet coloring than the mid blue I grew last year. Cannot capture the electric color!

Gee,I wonder why my sweet potato vine isn't getting bigger.......it's been blooming like this all summer

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

Gail,
Your new find is charming. Love that Blue.
Mine don't seem to be that Bright of a color.
My last few 'Blue Silk' are blooming EXACTLY like your color with a Thin Blue color trim and the rest of the bloom almost solid white.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Gail, Your sweet potato vine is probably pot bound so the vine itself is not getting larger. This would also explain the blooms all summer.
long. Once I potted mine up a size, my blooms stopped.

Jackie

Willoughby, OH(Zone 5a)

Jackie,Thanks for the info. Mine are in a big deck box with other plants, but I'll bet the roots are bound,as you suggest.Ah well,I'm taking cuttings now for overwintering...seasons about over for me.

Goodlettsville, TN(Zone 6a)

Snapped this photo at work this morning!

This one is growing amongst the landscaping.
I am sure it will get pulled up as a "weed" the next time the landscapers come to call.
Strange that it is the most attractive flower growing there, though.

Why is it that some MJ have 5, 6 or 7 "spokes"?
