Hello
I was doing some maintainance today and noticed some white substance under one of my diffinbachias* , it looked almost like cream or icecream but has a solid tissue paper texture. It is located in a raised bed where I keep my Vireyas (TropicalRhododendrons) I figure its some kind of Fungi. Any ideas about what to do. It does not seem to be on any of the surrounding plants.

The big clump in the photo was hidden under a pice of pine bark.

As i started to remove it I noticed that is is traveling deep into the bed in long threadlike veins.

Could this be White Mold caused by Sclerotinia? A way to check is to look for small black hard "sclerotia".....sort rock like things. Normally Sclerotinia makes lots of them. Or maybe it is a wood rotting fungus. They are often white like that. They usually don't hurt much. They just work on decaying old wood. Sclerotinia would be attacking your plant, wood rot fungi likely would not. If it is a wood rot fungus it may be breaking down your old pine bark into a lovely organic mulch. No need for treatment.
